The Q&A features Em sharing how he got involved in the movie. He also breaks down the creation of his latest single “Phenomenal” which is featured in Southpaw.

“The original idea was to have something for a particular montage where they actually had used originally ‘Till I Collapse’. They wanted something like that with similar energy,” explains Eminem. “So I came up with ‘Phenomenal’. What I had done was I did the beat first, laid a hook, and sent it to them.”

Em also addressed his decision not to star in Southpaw, performing his Oscar-winning song “Lose Yourself,” and his love for boxing.

Southpaw: Music From And Inspired by the Motion Picture also includes tunes by 50 Cent, Slaughterhouse, Tech N9ne, Busta Rhymes, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Denaun, PRhyme, Logic, The Notorious B.I.G., and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

The Southpaw movie is scheduled for release on July 24. The soundtrack is set to drop on the same date.
