Kanye West Talks The Delay On “SWISH” Album & Being A Fan Of Presidential Candidate Ben Carson

IS YE STILL THINKING ABOUT A 2020 PRESIDENTIAL RUN?

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year it seem as if Kanye West was on the verge of releasing his 7th studio album SWISH (formerly titled So Help Me God). The GOOD Music head shared the tracks “Only One,” “All Day,” and “Wolves,” but those songs were never followed up with a full length project.

Vanity Fair recently spoke with West about his Yeezy Season 2 fashion collection. The conversation also included the Chicago native being asked if his next LP will take another year before it hits stores.

“I’m not sure. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing,” responded Ye.

SWISH may or may not arrive in the next 365 days, but Kanye is still looking beyond that time to 2020. The blogosphere went ballistic when West announced he plans to run for President of the United States in five years. Was he serious? It appears Ye is looking to try a different approach to campaigning.

“When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone. I would be like ‘I want to work with you.’ As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy,” said Kanye. “And I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.”
