Q-Tip Plays Unheard Original Version Of Nas’ “Memory Lane” (VIDEO)

“DJ PREMIER & NAS MAY KILL ME FOR THIS… BUT I GOTTA LET Y’ALL HEAR THIS SH*T”

(AllHipHop News) Nas’ debut studio album Illmatic is held as one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time. The 1994 masterpiece featured production by DJ Premier, Large Professor, Pete Rock, L.E.S., and Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest.

Tip recently sat down with Classic HipHop Media to reflect on the impact of Illmatic. The native New Yorker played a previously unheard version of “Memory Lane” produced by Premo.

“Premier may kill me for this, and Nas may kill me for this too. But I gotta let y’all hear this sh*t,” said Q-Tip. “When I heard this record that Prem did, I said I gotta give [Nas] something on that eerie sh*t.”
