RZA Responds To Backlash Over His Comments About Black Youth's Clothes Scaring Cops

(AllHipHop News) RZA found himself facing serious backlash this week after the Wu-Tang Clan member made comments about black youth and police injustice. During an interview with Bloomberg, RZA suggested African-Americans should change their attire in order to not scare police officers into committing violent acts against them. Social media users began blasting RZA, and the 46-year-old Hip Hop artist was forced to respond on Twitter.

Rza is a effin sell out say stuff like that plus he was ordering hits on his own people on Staten Island sucka ass Nigga…. Hear white producers in Hollywood was ass banging him are parts in movies

    • DickDangles

      Repost that shit!!!

      • Ray

Shut up faggot! Rza was wrong for what he said, but stop the dumb shit.

    • Casor_Greener

Shut up hating you gay ass chump

      • DickDangles

Mfer I’ll beat the shit outta ur Bitch Ass ain’t nothing gay over here Bitch made Nigga

      • DickDangles

Yeah u n Rza fuckin smh

    • Anthony Mason

      Lol! I don’t doubt it….

The stuff these guys do to get on is crazy. Remember when Kevin Hart was vehemently against fag s***…..then he blew up? Yeah….he went to the Hollywood parties and they broke that nigga in really good…..

      • Sy

So..since he ‘s no against “fag shit”..he got “broke in?? Maybe he knows/learned that it’s just not smart to alienate a certain group of people and doesn’t want to deal with the backlash associated with it. I personally don’t remember him talking down on gay people. People like yourself feel uncomfortable when they see someone accomplishing their goals so they try and find an excuse for why they’re successful, mainly because they themselves are too lazy/sorry to go out and get things poppin on their own*

    • Sy

Is that right??? So let me get this straight…..he got waxed by some white “producers”….and they went around telling people that they slept with Rza…and it somehow got back to you!!?? Cause I’m sure Rza definitely not telling anybody that story, but the white dudes supposedly leaked that info?? What you’re dealing with is called “hearsay”…unless you’re the one making up this B.S. Every time a black man does something in Hollywood, he somehow needs to become gay? The dude is a WuTang member, so he wouldn’t need to drop his pants in order to get parts in a film…he’s already world famous! What Rza was saying was DEAD ON. He wasn’t saying that that the cops have an excuse for killing Blacks, he’s saying that the odds of you surviving when faced with a cop, will skyrocket if you’re perceived as someone that’s “about something”. Believe me, if you look like someone that has a strong family, or some business about yourself, they don’t want that kind of problem. Just like in the wild, they prey on the animals that seem weak. It doesn’t mean that nothing will happen, it just means that you increase your odds ten fold. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and stop spreading nonsense. And BTW…so what if he was “supposedly” ordering hits on someone (which is also hearsay)…that wouldn’t mean that he doesn’t care about his people.

      • Controversy Sells

        You are a fool.

      • Sy

What an intelligent response. You sound like a thirteen year old girl, talking bout…what you “heard”. Grow up…and learn how to formulate a halfway intelligent rebuttal……..that’s if you’re capable*

      • Casor_Greener

They don’t want to hear the truth

      • DickDangles

Damm is y’all fuckin? U went hard for Rza lmao

      • Sy

“Is y’all Fuckin?”?? Is y’all?? Your folks never corrected you?…or do they talk like that too? It took you 10 days ta come up wit that?? You just got out the county or somethin?….couldn’t make bail wit your Captain D’s check? The correct way to say it is…..”are y’all”. You should be crying instead of “laughing* your ass off”*

      • Sy

“Is y’all”?? Where did learn to talk? You should be crying instead of “laughing ya ass off”. You locked up or sumptin? Shoe program nig? It took you 10 days ta come up with that weak ass response. FOH**

  • MONSTERPEACE

Its funny how dudes like RZa and Ice Cube, who were both very outspoken as rappers, turn out once they go hollywood. I dont understand how you go from proclaiming yourself “the god” on every song to wanting some hollywood writer’s words in your mouth for another soulless cop show. I dont understand why Ice Cube and Rza dont do anything for the culture, promote new groups and good music, start a label, magazine, or website for some real hip hop. Or how about a good movie that celebrates the positive in hiphop culture instead of being Duchovny’s bitch on californication. When are we going to stop worshipping these guys cause they “got paid” and are successful businessmen, and see that they failed to mature as artists, in fact they regressed.

    • Casor_Greener

What did he say that was wrong? Man blacks always complain when the truth is spoken. He never condoned police brutaiityy

      • tupac shakur

        What truth was spoken?

      • Papi Peligro

The way you dress shouldn’t scare a police officer I challenge you to show me 1 person shot that was wearing all ghetto styles.

      • Casor_Greener

Show me one that was wearing a polo and not mouthing off to the cops…

Garner was shot resisting arrest, Tamir Rice as gunned down after pointing a fake pistol at people in the park, Sandra Bland hung after herself after her friend wouldnt pay her bail.

I’;m not condoning the cops but you’re acting like these were well to do citizens minding their own business and then got shot.

Now the brother who got shot in the back was TRULY done wrong. Didn’t that cop get convited of murder? Oscar Grant was a victim too.

Why doesn’t the BLM movement march through the hood where dealers are selling crack and gangs shooting up the community? Why don’t they march in front of the schools where there are no decent books. Nah they crying for media attention.

      • Papi Peligro

We talking about clothes. Not mouthing off or anything else just clothes. Clothes is different from respecting authority. We talking about clothes. BRA.

      • Sy

Clothes are important Bruh. That’s why when gangsters/killers etc go to court, their lawyers tell them to dress non aggressive…why do you think they do that? Clothes equal perception. No matter how much people want to think that things like that shouldn’t matter, it’s imprinted into your sub-conscience. If your daughter was dating someone, which would you rather see at your doorstep, a dude with his pants hanging off his ass, or a dude in a tailored suit? Not saying that the dude in the suit is better…I’m just asking…which would you rather “see”?

      • Papi Peligro

It don’t matter what I want see its america. Just like I teach my kids respect that person. I also teach them respect authority. I don’t care if yo boss is dressed like a thug or wearing a uniform. It’s not up to me or you to decide what somebody should wear. They are still deserving of rights. Now putting your hand in the car or pu ching an officer is the same rule I teach my children protect yourself.

      • Sy

I’m not saying that “we” should decide what people wear, and I’m definitely not saying that your rights should be stripped according to your clothes. I’m just saying that what you wear has an effect on how you’re perceived, that is, until you open your mouth and say something intelligent/stupid to contradict someone’s perception. Should what a person wears matter……..not really. But “does” it matter….absolutely. Just because you teach your children to respect others no matter what, you should know that everyone doesn’t see things that way, especially some power drunk cop. When you dress like you have home training, a police officer would be less likely to act aggressively towards you, because you just may have a powerful support system behind you…and they don’t want to deal with that*

      • youKNOWthatYOUugly

All Police officers wear uniforms and some of them kill people. Cloths don’t mean anything.

      • Sy

        I don’t follow you….

      • kingmurdaday79

Uncle ruckus is trying to change the narrative.

      • ZUBU

        You’re an agent…… Hatemonger….

      • Casor_Greener

How to avoid losing an argument with an intelligent black man on the internet.

        1. Accuse the person of being white
        2. Accuse the person of being an agent
        3. claim to be a real killer
        4. Continue speaking ignorance and avoid the point

        You got it ZUBU

      • Sy

        I gotta use those…

      • ZUBU

        Son you are an AGENT………..
        —————
When did I EVER mention real killer, or claim to be one in any capacity? What I am is a well educated Black Man……..
        You’re an AGENT………….

      • Ript1930

MKL< Although the terms bull and bear are widely used in financial circles to characterize general positive or negative positions in the market, the savvy trader should practice some caution. Technically speaking, there is no official rule about when a market changes from a bull into a bear. In practice, however, the generally accepted consensus is that a market becomes a bear market when prices decline to a measure of 20 percent or more in various broad market indices for a period of at least two months.:):)

my girl made me watch this movie called 22. In it, Mr. f the police plays a top cop. Right after Cop Killer came out, Ice T was immediately cast as a hero cop in New Jack city. You cant miss the symbolism. These dudes portray themselves as rebels and the instant hollywood comes calling its a different story. (this was @surface my bad)

      • The Gary Group

        Propaganda.

    • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

What did Ice Cube do or say, that make u feel that way?

    • youKNOWthatYOUugly

You trippin. Cube works in Hollywood but far from Hollywood

      • Furiousone

I think he was talking about Ice T. Gotta be.

    rza speaks the truth

    • Ygarner

How is he speaking the truth when wore the same shit at that age. Let them be kids if their not doing shit leave them alone. My parents parents wore slacks and button ups and got their ass beat. Rza lost this one bro he’s wrong. He made millions of the same style of dress now he says it’s the kids fault. That’s that Hollywood juice lol .

    • Papi Peligro

Ain’t no truth.what you wear shouldn’t scare the police unless you wearing some stripes like hamburglar or an orange jump suit.

      • Anthony Mason

        Lol!

    • kingmurdaday79

      I bet you white.

  • ZUBU

RZA should have never said that nonsense…… I always been a WU fan enjoyed their message and overall movement. But the God lost me with that entire statement. I’m in the same age range as him and yes I’m buttoned up daily, but you cannot expect young brothas to dress the way I do. Once again white kids wear similar garb but they are not shot nor are they profiled like black men are. The shiitt is racist plain and simple…….

  • Anthony Mason

He is backpeddling just as expected….

    • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

      Backsliding, He’s doing the moonwalk.

    • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

I kind of agree with SOME of his words/phrases in that statement. You really cant say sh*t to some IGNORANT blacks in NORTH AMERICA. Most are in my family. Honestly cant stand it, this is the reason most of my family wont ever see my Villa in Europe. Niccas dont act right you wont be accepted. Point black PERIOD! I aint ashamed of no color in my family, ITS HOW YOU ACT! Give a FLUCK WHAT COLOR U IZZZZZZZZZZ! Be fruity rainbow color skin, but if you acting stupid as fu(k, BYE!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Isa Ibn Maryam

Lol I called it. He’s know more than a Zionist Fu(k boi now going forward.

  • Controversy Sells

I’d believe the original statement if cops were shooting Goth dressed mithafukaz too but they don’t and they more scary in a trench coat a black kid wearing a hoodie.

It’s not about the clothes u dummy. That’s just a cover up because the same clothes black ppl wear. . . So do white kids.

Or admitting racism exist in this day and age and what hurt the most is these famous “blacks” who play into the masking of it.

    • ZUBU

Real talk….. Exactly, white kids wear similar if not worse clothing and they are not being killed. It is racism, nothing more, nothing less……..

      • IceBergSlim

You are absolutely correct. Their is no need to change who we are how we dress with the exception of genecide and the destruction of our own kind and how we treat one another.

  • Riko7467

Fu(k white people fu(k the police and fu(k white washed people too. Keep white people and fake motherfu(kers out your circle!!!!

  • Bottom line…. RZA got aired out for his stupid as a rock comments. And he should have. We now see who was behind that twisted ass Wu Tang pay pyramid. RZA now needs to apologize to everyone who copped those Wu hoodies. Dumb ass n*ggas be killing me.

  • I COULD’VE BEEN YA FATHER!

fuack this dude. i’m staten island and loved the WU but this clown has turned his back on the same ppl that he made millions on. your garments will not determine if those pigs are going to shoot you or not foh rza you piece of chit.

    • Knickfan4life

Yes it will what’s going to keep happening if we don’t clean up they are going to keep profiling black men with hoodies and black men are going to be harassedbecause white men are demented and do not differentiate .it is a reason why farakhan makes his people wear suits.you demand more respect.

      • youKNOWthatYOUugly

You sound crazy! What about when black people are driving and pulled over for no reason? How many times have we seen or heard that? You can’t see what I’m wearin in a Benz

      • Anthony Mason

I got pulled over in Chicago for wearing a Polo hoodie before in a luxury car so when I’m out there I don’t play. I had to let the F***ing cop search my trunk so he didn’t waste any more of my time….

He swore to God I was a drug kingpin trafficing drugs out of Illinois and thought I was slick by having christmas presents in my car for my family….

I even offered to let him open stuff up so he just let me go and he felt like a POS after. Dude followed me like 10 miles in an unmarked suv….

      • Knickfan4life

Again wear what you want when the cops are looking for the same person who fits your description just be quiet sick it up and man up and realize you not getting a lawsuit.

      • Anthony Mason

True. A well dressed man is a well dressed man no matter what race. It’s shows sophistication and taste for art and colors if you got your tie game on point with your shirt color game and know what belt and shoes to wear….

There is no changing racists per se but when you dress sharp as hell it says respect me b**** and I know you aren’t better than me so stay in your lane. Just put your head down and shove your stereotypes up your a** and keep staring with that sick look on your face…

Katt Williams knows how that goes…

      • Knickfan4life

Black people know what he meant cops are profiling hoodies, jeans, when these clowns start messing with you when you got the description of a suspect then don’t cry harassment if you know what they are looking for. Even if it’s a dirty dusty white cops profile certain people.

      • Furiousone

Maybe you should throw on a dashiki and stop trying to act like euro monkey suits are what defines us. You feel safe in your fresh new threads? People should feel safe period.

      • Anthony Mason

I’m not worried about my safety and I don’t own a dashiki. White people wear those too not just black people….I just don’t have one and they dont sell them at macys or a men’s formal wear store…

If a nice collared tee or a pullover or a nice cashmere sweater with jeans is euro trash to you I have nothing left to say….

I’m pretty sure people of every race wear Polo , Lacoste, etc because if the craftsmanship and quality and color variations.

      • Furiousone

Word, black kids should throw on a cashmere to avoid getting mistaken as a threat. You’re right, you have nothing left to say, nor did you say anything worthwhile. Go on an kick it with this fake crackers rocking a dashiki. LMAO. Where they do that at? Some people would call you ricking jeans as too street, be careful from the law. But hey, if you’re white, I’m sure you’re good anyhow.

      • Anthony Mason

White potheads wear dashikis. You aren’t talking about s*** bruh….

I’m not white I’m biracial and being targeted by cops depends a lot on the area.

I live in a nice multicultural area where cops happen to not intrude on people’s rights. It is an extremely small highly funded borough. They make 80k plus to do nothing around here. There is no crime here. That is what happens when you live in an affluent area.

Plus I know all the cops here. Living around racist crazy cops is not a good idea. It is motivation to move to a good area….

      • Furiousone

I’m talking about nuthin but you’re the one acting like a name brand cashmere defines a man. I expect white pot heads to not understand the cultural significance of a dashiki. Fakes like i called them. I would like to know how you justify telling kids they need to throw on a
lacoste cashmere to avoid racism. So now you’re telling me Blacks should just run from their community and interbreed to avoid racist cops. Gotcha.

      • Anthony Mason

Huh? Interbreeding. When did I say throwing on cashmere will save you from cops? Guess I should change my genetic makeup for you now too. There are a bunch of biracial out here bruh and more being made every day. This is a blended world and is only going to become more like that….

What is your agenda? Of course they don’t understand it. People wear clothes that they like. You going to tell me I am somehow misrepresenting by wear the same s*** people wear all over the world?

Wear all the ethnic garb you want. Im not going to care either way and I’m not the cops out here killing teens….

      • Furiousone

What you should do is stop throwing shade on black folks and understand that they should be able to wear what they like without being stereotyped and harassed. See how that works? You may not be a cop, but you’re perpetuating the racist cop agenda. Don’t play victim after commencing an assault.

      • Anthony Mason

You can wear whatever you want to bruh….I’m not downing you boss.

      • Anthony Mason

        No…..

You are not an authority on these issues. Stop. You are going against a person who opposes all this violence….

Be more productive. Bantering online against a black man who dresses nice for work purposes is weak….

        Your reality is your perception…

      • Furiousone

“You can wear whatever you want to bruh….I’m not downing you boss. ”

        A change gonna come.

Lmao. Maybe you need to stay out of these comments if you feel that way. You had to think on that? Your reality is fraudulent. You came on here to shit on dead kids for wearing hoodies and show how your money and nice threads makes you above it all. Well, welcome to the terrordome sucka.

Btw, I dress nice period, in work and out of work. Many blacks do and still get harassed including you from previous comments, but i don’t have a desire to tell the world and ignore people’s real condition created by, and continually perpetuated by this racist country. They were hanging us from trees in suits my brother, Cut that nonsense out. I’m done here. I’m off to watch the SOTU.

      • Anthony Mason

You need to take one million seats down and STFU. Sorry to be so blunt but you are out of line. Those are fighting words….but it is easy for you to do that over the internet. The prez is a sellout POS….

Yeah I said it. What do you know about that?…..Not enough clearly….

You dont know a damn about what I am about…I am assuming you haven’t read the other posts.

Why are you so stuck on tying the clothes I wear ….to cops…to a poorly written article on this website? Yeah you don’t feel so good now huh tough guy? Live your life how you want to and stop bothering me about clothes. They are f***ing clothes.

You need to get out more bruh. I’m international and have been around so I can talk about stuff you have just read about…

Take a long walk in the dark and get a f***ing life…..

      • Furiousone

You on here with me homey. Obviously you know more about me than i know about you. But you’re on here catching feelings, telling us your life history, so there’s that. smh. Violence against blacks huh? Typical. Kick rocks and don’t catch a heart attack or a hot one. You looking like the sell out fancy pants.. Peace be upon you.

      • Anthony Mason

No bruh. You keep revisiting this….I just keep responding to you….

You have made a big deal over absolutely nothing.

Don’t catch a heart attack or a hot one huh? And kick rocks on the same sentence yet you say “peace be upon you”. You sound so full of s*** and disingenious it makes me want to hurl…

Take your hippy bulls*** to the weed shop and forget we ever had dialogue. ..

There’s that sucker. Now switch profiles again and school me more….Sounds like you need to actually go out and do something in the community and leave me alone. I help out homeless people and mentor parentless kids….

        What’s in your wallet?

      • Furiousone

Feelings feelings and more feelings. Kick rocks means to take that wack sh!# up the block because no matter the clothing (which this topic is all about), the cops will target your skin color. I’m saying don’t catch a hot one from the cops. See, i do wish peace upon you. Don’t respond if this bothers you so much . Damn the half-cracker pres is killing it. You should feel proud.

      • Anthony Mason

        You sound ignorant…

I have been profiled and targeted in my life from cops so I can speak on it. Don’t be so quick to judge me. I am about everything that promotes positivity and growth…

Except…..well….when I write rhymes joking around or battling people on here but don’t get me twisted as some silver spoon fancy dressing hoe. I just know how to operate in society and talk to people of any background or ethnicity….

      • Furiousone

It’s not just about you. It’s about every black person in America. I’ve already alluded to your run in with the cops, i mean, i actually mentioned that. lol. Still, the point is, fancy dressing and tailored identities doesn’t protect you regardless of your shucking and jiving abilities. Still, if you don’t want to be judged, don’t throw stones. That was a damn god speech from the Pres.

      • Anthony Mason

        Yes I have feelings….

I am a human being not a robot. For you to expect anything less means you are inaccurately profiling who I am without even actually knowing where my heart is at…

Don’t let a dirty and filth laden discussion board cause you to condemn people. You should bomb on people who are trolling instead of what you are doing.

      • Furiousone

Why do you keep changing your comments? Ok bro, we’re really done with this now right?

      • Anthony Mason

Because I try to fix my typos and auto correct is wild….

Also, I may think to write something else after I hit post. You the posting police? Am I under arrest or not? If not…can I be on my way now officer? Lol!

There are a trillion better things you can do besides critiquing my posting etiquette. It is a living document

      • Anthony Mason

        Sure…SMH….

I think it is imporant that you not worry so much about what you think you know about people on a gutter a** discussion board…

      • Furiousone

But, i’m on here having a discussion with a person that’s “Only Human” like everyone else on this board, and you’re all over this board commenting, so i guess you don’t mind playing in the mud.

      • Anthony Mason

I don’t mind playing in the mud. You dont either apparently…

But at the end of the day what does it matter? You were making me out to be a Lacoste wearing tennis playing doushbag aristocrat with no empathy towards poor black people…

When I was young my parents were so poor we ate the cheapest stuff they could buy with coupons. Now it is 2016.

Anyone can pull themselves up with maybe some assistance from people who care about them if they want to. It is about heart and determination at the end of the day. What you lack, others will provide for you if you have the right aura….

      • Furiousone

Actually no, you made yourself out to be that. I’m saying no matter what you wear (wealthy people don’t all wear lacoste, some wear Sean John), your skin makes you a target. This struggle is beyond wealth, and apparel. Word to Henry Louis Gates. Like i said, it’s more than being about you. It’s not a good idea to stereotype those who dress are certain way, or even having a certain economic standing as being the only target. I’m really not concerned about the specifics of your life story.

      • Anthony Mason

I rarely say this… but you are entering into do not respond terrotory…

If you dislike my” life story”
…which is just me honestly telling you about me day to day you have serious issues. It’s a f***ing discussion board.

You have bigger fish to fry no?…If not you sound like a psychological meniacal opportunist who harps on unimportant topics and labels people….

      • Furiousone

You really do want to make this only about you. Such a narcissist. So cops are wrongfully killing Black people, and a respected black success story is telling them it’s their fault for dressing a certain way isn’t important. Gotcha.

      • Anthony Mason

Your sainthood comments do not resonate with me. Narcissism denotes a person who totally acts out of personal gain and it is all about themselves.

Your gain/personal reward in this case is defamation of my character in order to control me and make me acquiesce to your bulls*** views….

I am used to dealing with manipulative people who enjoy the thrill of broad brushing and amplifying issues for their own gain. Look in the mirror and hop off of my nuts. The act of that aformentioned gesture would show you really are about what you are preaching.

I am merely responding back to you. Again….what is your agenda and why?

      • Anthony Mason

        …………

      • Anthony Mason

You are on some s***…I try not to argue with narcissistic junkies who call normal people narcissists….

Sounds confusing huh? Well so does your bulls***. B**** Get of that blow!!! (Stankonia interlude voice)…

  • Isa Ibn Maryam

These testicles licking white supremacy agents trying to justify this false god comments as if they were actually accurate. We reject your Uncle Thomas logic when it comes to our continuous fight for the destruction of the White whore monger’s anti black movement.

  • Anthony Mason

Wu wear is the most ghetto unprofessional and ugly s*** of all time and he used to pride himself on it until he accumulated enough money to buy designer clothes and stay in an area where the cops are so well paid they don’t even pull people over for DUIs and sit in their cop cars and play games on their phone….

I live in an area like that and cops are only here to visit domestic abuse calls from drunk people, help look for lost dogs and shoo away ducks in a starbucks parking lot and clean up minor fender benders….

    • ZUBU

Word Bro, I never wore Wu-Wear I was already on my grown man gear early in life. But he has forgot where he came from or been influenced by whatever powers-that-be….

      • Anthony Mason

Right? I was on my button up game since Jr. High…..

      • ZUBU

Right Bro, I’m older so I was influenced and tried to emulate the older brothers, and their gear was grown man shiiittt. We wanted to be sharp as we use to say. These young dudes its a bit different, and I understand their style.
        —————-
Changing gears: What I don’t understand is when older brothers like us try to dress and emulate the younger dudes, I’m like how are you gonna let the kids lead you?

      • Anthony Mason

I’ve never been a follower but like you said emulated professional and sharp dress. It is crazy how older people follow these retarded little kid trends….

40 year old guys out here in skinny jeans and neon Nike shoes…

I think people let the media convince them that they are old and lame through advertising….

      • ZUBU

That is deep what you’re saying there bro, they convince people that being old is bad… Ageing is an honor, I’m blessed to become older, a lot of my boys did not get that honor! Cause it is an honor, and I know you know Bro, but we use to honor our elders! Now these young dudes dissing old rappers, activists, political leaders, etc. Like the Jay-Z, Harry Belafonte situation. Harry marched, funded, etc. MLK…… He is a GOAT, ain’t shiittt Jay can say to him, bow down….Kiss the ring……

      • Ygarner

Pump the brakes. They are emulating older dudes peep the age of the dudes that made skinny jeans and nikes popular ( Kanye Wayne ) their approaching this 40 year age you speak of not to mention Wu members were nearly in their thirties when they hit the scene. It’s hip hop bro it’s the culture that dresses that way not just the youth. Look it up if I’m lying.

      • Anthony Mason

It is dudes like kanye that started it but….hey….

I was talking about normal people in normal society. Not hip hop….

      • ytgarner

Regardless their older dudes not young cats ” check out the movie fresh dressed and tell me if its not hip hop their jeans are just as fitting it is hip hop bro. Embrace the youngsters their embracing you.

      • Anthony Mason

I don’t dress hip hop at all. I dress up for work and wear jeans, tee shirts and pullovers like a normal typical American guy when not there…. I am 31 bruh…

I don’t follow the trends and I don’t care who made them really. Kanye wears clothes that look like garbage bags….90s hip hop fashion had pants falling off of peoples a**…

I don’t even get what you are defending or why….

      • ytgarner

Were talking bout hip hop right ? The fashion that dominates the world that’s fine your typical glad ur good with that but it’s Though’s that are not is all I’m saying. You stated it was young dudes that started skinny jeans when in fact it was men your own age. Why talk about being typical when hip hop is not typical at all its black culture and how we dress that’s what I’m defending while you’ve accepted the white males dress that’s on u enjoy

      • Anthony Mason

I don’t think you know fashion or the why or how…

I wear nike normal shoes or boots especially air maxes and RL POLO…bruh….

They started dressing these pip squeak kids in the industry in that fag bulls*** right around 2008…. Guys like kanye A$ap rocky took it over the top and normalized it. Again wtf are you saying and why ?….

      • ytgarner

And someone can clown how you dress too but u win lol

      • Anthony Mason

And I can clown you right now too. No you win….

@Yt garner/ Sh** starter/ I’m sure you are smarter and got “fresh”game like a young Vince Carter / Your a** is still dressing like Lil Wayne when he released the first Carter(lol)/ I should burn everything in my walk in closet…/Your tight gear is so…so much harder!!!! (90s voice lol!)/ You are confusing sloppy clothes with art bruh…

        Nigga your special education a** types with a damn st… st… st…stutter…

Yeah dressing like a RL Polo mannequin makes me a total f***ing weirdo../ Buy me and 75% of the niggas on this site some new “cool” slim fitting leather sparkling gear bruh…/You are the new flamboyant fashion hero!!! / I’m nothing but a lame z z z zero….

(Hanging my head with tears welling up)….I am not worthy…teach me your ways wise brother. I am not black enough to have your level of hip hop swagger ( turns on Metallica with alligator tears still welling up)….

        Lmaaoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Swaggy P wants his weird clothes back from you bruh….

      • Knickfan4life

Sadly these kids want to wear Hoodies 24 hours a day 7 days a week

      • Knickfan4life

I always thought all that urban garbage was ugly

    • Ibn Mahmood

You’re livin the life bro lol

      • Anthony Mason

I’m just living normal life… I just don’t let myself get intimidated by s***bags. They can take a f***ing hike in bare feet and kiss my a**….

People are what they are…period. Weak people act like vultures….

      • Ibn Mahmood

True plenty of vultures in the world. Keep doin your thing.

  • thank you very much 🙂

  • Leonard Tarver

RZA just quit it Bruh. You lost more than half of your fan base trying to respond… You f**ked up. Now live with it and make no more dumb comments. This was worse than Iggy responses 😂😂😭😂💦

    • Knickfan4life

No he didn’t his fan base is overseas I still rock with rza

      • ZUBU

So you agree with what he said? Black kids should have to conform to some suspect dress code to prevent getting shot? While white kids can wear what they want, you agree with that?
        ——————
I’m an older dude so I’m buttoned up pretty much everyday, but a kid has to change in order not to get popped? That is what you’re saying?

      • Knickfan4life

Yeah I agree with him he just did not explain himself properly.

      • ZUBU

You agree with him, but he did not explain himself properly? That makes no damn sense! Either his statement is accurate or it is not………

      • Knickfan4life

He didn’t explain himself to the point of comprehension for slow folks if I was him I would have not even put myself in that situation because in 2015 the Internet has made black folks borderline retarded.

      • johnblacksad

“He didn’t explain himself to the point of comprehension for slow folks”

        I love this!!!

      • Knickfan4life

Remember the NBA had no dress code and how they use to dress .Carmelo Anthony realizes now it changed his whole out look on life. Rza is not pulling a Bill Cosby some of these damn kids are as warped as white people now look what Jaden smith is wearing. We have to do better and not settle.

  • RespectA

Ain’t no defending that B. He’s been hanging out with Quenton Taritino and them hollywood people to much.

  • Triple7_skylakegreat

Hold up don’t the youth today dress like young thug anyway?

  • chrisco

Rza was right to a degree, just poor choice of words! Me as a black man in his early 40’s I realize that the white man is intimidated when he sees a black male dressed thuggish! Saggy pants looks sloppy anyway. Why would a real man want his pants hanging off his Azz like a hoe, unless he’s a closet punk!

    • Live Well

He was wrong in every degree. I love RZA but he was all the way off on this. The man built an entire brand off wearing what you want and now that he’s in the 1% he wanna lecture us with this bull to make his white constituents feel comfortable. Same thing Common did after he won that Oscar.

      • The Gary Group

        Facts

  • Rando

as a black person, i am aware that certain “looks” can get the attention of the police. we all know what “looks” i mean. if anyone else feels more compelled to “keep it 100” and be out late wearing “the look” and you get your ass beat, dont cry foul. RZA is correct. it is our job to be intelligent and adjust.

to dumb it down, keepin it real in this instance is the same as saying 2+2=3. the truth is it is 4. if some black folk would rather roll the dice for the sake of having an argument, fine. make sure you drop some fries and sweep the lobby or get that pack and hustle. you wont be getting a nice, legitimate check with the top half of yo ass hanging out. do we even remember what saggin is? an advertisement for HOMOsexual sex.

lemme guess, i’m a coon. LOL. cool, lemme check this coonish retirement account real quick….

    • ZUBU

Yes, you sound very coonish….. Just like a coon you state:

” lemme check this coonish retirement account real quick”
      ——————–
You will sell-out. Coon-shiittt…….. Go away
      —————
I’m older so my button up game is so on point, been that way for many, many years…. My IRA is cool as well….. but I’m not a coon like you……….

      • Rando

only in the black community do people tear each other down.

you essentially said the same thing i said and i am the coon. wow. blessings to you, brother.

    • “it is our job to be intelligent and adjust.”

      • W.E.B. Du Bois

then you gon start parting your hair down the middle because your white superiors don’t like your hair unparted

      • Either that or accept the consequences for not doing it!

The issue is really independence or rather, our lack of it!

  • DrakeDoesn’tWrite

A MAN shares his life experience and people are angry at him for the things he did when he still had a BOY’s mindset. Quick question for the Boys/Men in here:

If a woman is dressed like a Stripper, what do we assume she is?

It sure as hell ain’t that she’s a Doctor.
    Now you get it….

    • ZUBU

So you can rape her because she is dressed like a stripper?
      —————————-
You can shoot him because his attire is not up to your standard?
      ——————————–
Many white kids wear similar attire, but they are not shot or profiled by the cops! It is racism…
      ————–
I’m older so my attire represents such, but young dudes don’t have to dress like me…….. To prevent getting shot, profiled…..
      ————–
Step your brain game up.. Word is bond………

      • johnblacksad

Unfortunately, what should be and what is are rarely the same… unfortunately.

A girl in a stripper attire has more chances of being mistaken for a stripper.

A young god in a hoodie shouldn’t be profiled, but unfortunately he will be profiled.
What is, and what should be are rarely the same. Notice…

and that’s all I’m saying… I do see the other problematic aspect that is implied by what RZA said.

        Peace

    • W.E.B. Du Bois

you asking dumbass questions that got nothing to do with being shot by a officer because they don’t like a black’s outfit

      • DrakeDoesn’tWrite

It’s proof that what he said has some merit to it. Like it or not. How you present yourself is how you are perceived. Case and point. A COP got shot here a few years ago by some random niggas who robbed him. He was in a Hoodie and some shorts or w/e in the AM(basically in a “hood” look). Does that happen to him if he’s in uniform? NO! You are the only dumb one here and a bit pretentious I might add. Trying to sound intelligent while ignoring logic makes you look like a fool. I’ll pass on that. I have never had a problem with the cops and I’m a 90’s dude. And I’m from the hood. The one time the cops did something awkwards to me is when me and my stepdad were out in Whitesville getting his car fixed. I was rocking the old school 3/4 first down(all black). We stopped a store and a white lady copped walked in and asked “was everything ok”. That’s basically it. The black jacket drew attention.Just like hoodies draw attention. Whether you wanna accept it or not your look does matter. You are acting like I said cops should shoot every nigga in a hoodie.

  • dbfromdc

AS BLACK MEN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO WEAR WHATEVER WE WANT WITHOUT BEING HARRASSED OR SHOT BY THE POLICE!!! FUK RZA

  • IDNTGIVAFUCKBOUTNOTHING

Im Done with the RZA. All his Movies Suck, and now he turned on his own people.

  • Vexed Vader

Umm, It was just his opinion. Men are entitled to be off with their opinions and statements every now and then. We know he meant well. Ya’ll chill on The RZA already. sheesh. The good he has brought to the culture far outweighs his little wack statement.

    • ZUBU

Brotha, I’m a huge WU fan from the gate…..
      ——————
This was not a little wack statement……… RZA was off point, totally…….

  • Eric Emajor Jackson

Dam Rza…… I don’t know what to think… All due respect tho King

  • Elayorx El

Isn’t it ironic that the “suit” symbolism, that helped to usher in the “new age”, is the very same one that helped to kill real Hip-Hop in the first place. This whole thing took off due to scarcity, injustice, and that which was representative of a counter-culture. I think some of us have forgotten that. You cannot have it both ways. You either want it real, with all of it’s crude, raw make-up, or you want “advancement”, with the impression of evolvement, at the expense of what made the thing real. I loved, and even emulated Uncle Russ for a time, cause he wasn’t with all the tight suits, and button-ups all of the time, which when you truly break it down, are not even all that healthy for us anyway, but that’s another post. Puff caught flak, then Jigga, now RZA. It seems the battle between that which is truly real, and that which palms itself off as such, will never end. On a stack, I’ve never seen KRS, or Rakim in a button-up, and those are highly respected men the world over.

  • bluelight74

I think it was Maya Angelo who said “when people show you who they are, believe them.” He is making it plain whom he serves and what agenda he has decided to align himself with. The back pedaling and “original man” nonsense is just that: nonsense, distracting words. It’s like chaff to a missile, meant to pull you off track. The nutritional content of pork has absolutely nothing to do with this.

This clown made millions off of the same type of clothing and life style he now blames for the death of black youth and does it grinning like a subservient coon on global T.V.. If the black youth being killed have a responsibility to dress better don’t the trained, armed ADULTS empowered with the powers of detention, arrest and summary execution have a responsibility to look past clothes before murdering with impunity?

Black youth were beat, murdered and disenfranchised long before the rise of hoodies, sagging pants or hip-hop youth culture. Interestingly enough, if I a take a look at the pictures and documentaries from the 60s the black youths I see were all respectful, well dressed and many were college students. That didn’t save them from the dogs, the fire hoses or the bullets. I guess they killed the little girls in the church in Birmingham cause they were twerking and mouthing off to cops, right RZA?

In closing, sorry for the long rant. I’m just tired of these traitorous maggots and their supporters. I’m out, I’m about to go watch Star Wars with my homegirl.

    • ZUBU

    • johnblacksad

Damn… can’t say you lied, and I do see where RZA was trying to go with this.

    • DrakeDoesn’tWrite

Niggas should stop trying to look thuggish. I remember when Jail suits were a trend. Stop pretending like what RZA said doesn’t have some merit because of who he is. Holding sh*t over his head he did or said20 years ago is dumb. Why? Because people change. Also, people tend to want their children to not make the same dumb mistakes they made. Maya Angelou would think you were retarded.

      • bluelight74

“Maya Angelou would think you were retarded.”

Really, I suppose you met her before she died, or maybe you’ve thoroughly read her work or listened to some (any) of her speeches to form this opinion. Your childish thinking and mental state is reflected in your post.

Nigga you fucced up period….keep it pushing….

  • Markus

Refund every WuWear garment you sold and then I’ll see some genuineness in the comments made. Until then this was ignorant and stupid coming from a dude who fancies himself an educated man.

  • Sgt. H. Jennings

I understand what RZA was trying to say. I also understand those that are upset over what he said. IMO he wasn’t wrong, out of line or off base with his comments. Those that disagree with him also have a valid argument and reason to be upset over what RZA said. Changing what we wear will not change how people treat us. I do believe making some changes in our own personal lives can maybe help with the perception other races have of us as African Americans, Blacks or whatever. I feel we are far from the core but making a change to include how we dress isn’t a bad idea in some instances..

    • #SALUTE

    • takin over the carter

      indeed!

    • Frank

If he’s was right then how far do you take it? What about when all the “good” ppl start wearing button ups not to get shot, maybe next we’ll tattoo em N make em wear six pointed stars like they did the Jews.

Life should and probably won’t be like that but that what RZA’s “point” made.

  • Ionithus

Where do I start… Let’s start with the topic at hand, the clothes. Clothes have NEVER made the man. His state of mind is what makes the man. Any educated person, who’s been to college or through common sense, overstands that looks are not important…again, it’s how one carries him or herself. Now I do agree that sagging pants is overrated and should’ve been left in the 90’s. RZA has seen many examples of how clothes do not make the man or woman. Oprah, top notch money maker, discriminated against. The professional… I forget what sport he played, discriminated against by police. Most of the people who marched back in the day wore suits. They got their behinds beat or murdered. No one says this to people who dress according to their music that isn’t hip hop, like grunge, Emo, heavy metal, etc. I don’t care if I’m in a dashiki wearing speedos, if my mannerism shows you I’m respectable, leave me be. I can be a soldier in a uniform (actually happened) and still make white people uncomfortable. Your creditability is shot, RZA. You got a lil famous outside of hip hop and you think you shit don’t stink. You’re not that great of an actor, that’s for fuckin’ sure. You will end up getting your “wake up call”. Was dude who got choked to death dressed in an “appropriate manner”, according to your standards??? Was the sister who was murder down south not dressed to your standards??? FOH, someone needs to check the shit outta you for this nonsense. If you judge a person simply by they way they look, the problem isn’t theirs.. it’s YOU. You as a black man should know this… but I feel what I stated earlier is the reason why you lost your sense. PLUS, New Yorkers have different dress codes. People wear damn near anything and are productive members of society. Stop singling black folks out. Your mind is becoming your masters since you’ve been invited in their world

  • Mcanthony Msaenz Mamaile

RZA statement does have some merit.yet him not have had claified his context(in time rather) sounded super ignorant and part of the problem. I think what you wear is a factor however it is not the source or cause of whatever prejudice you will be experiencing. White people can wear hoodies etc however be not readily perceived as low life’s as often as would black people. Its a human trait to prejudge or associate something based on your experience. The fault mostly will be with the one that has that negative perception however responsibility also lies with you to be conscious how you can be perceived or present yourself and understanding that you would bwe moving around a lot people most not too smart or open like you.
