(AllHipHop News) Rapper Wiz Dinero once flirted with fame as a budding rapper coming from Philadelphia.
His career derailed after a neighborhood rivalry turned deadly in September of 2000, prompting him to live in fear for his life.
Now, Wiz, born Duane Clinkscales Sr., is facing more infamy as a child predator after being caught with over a dozen images of child pornography on his computer.
An investigation into the Philadelphia rapper started in 2013 after undercover agents patrolling the Internet found a computer that was downloading videos of underaged girls performing sex acts on men.
Wiz Dinero’s I.P. address was tracked to Dallastown, Pennsylvania; the address was raided, and the machine was retrieved. Now, Wiz Dinero is currently sitting in a York County, Pennsylvania jail, facing 28 charges of possession of child p###.
Wiz Dinero was signed to a deal with MCA Records from 1999 until 2001. He recorded tracks with Black Rob, Cadillac Tah, and Butch Cassidy. In September 2000, Wiz Dinero was celebrating the deal with MCA Records when a neighborhood beef turned fatal.
A man named Moses Williams was killed after a vehicle he was traveling in was fired upon by a man named Hakeem Bey. Williams had been involved in a string of shootouts with men connected with Bey and his gang.
At the trial, police alleged Hakeem Bey was a member of a violent drug gang aligned with rapper Beanie Sigel.
Two eyewitnesses who allegedly saw Hakeem Bey pull the trigger were executed as the trial was beginning.
The shooting death of witness Chante Williams was very shocking. She had tried to slip into the city to care for her sick grandmother, after relocating to Florida in fear of her life. Chante Williams was slain just seven hours after stepping off a plane, drawing condemnation the from police and then Mayor, Michael N#####.
At trial, Wiz Dinero testified and told prosecutors Hakeem Bey had shot at him six times in an episode before Moses was murdered. Hakeem Bey was spared the death penalty, and he was ultimately sentenced to life for arranging all three of the deaths.
Wiz Dinero lost his contract with MCA and ended up in prison for a short time over weapons and assault charges.
He is being held on $50,000 bail on the child p### charges and is currently detained at the York County Prison.
