Post Malone Claps Back At XXL, Says He Has A Hip Hop Album Coming Out Soon

POST MALONE SAYS HE’S STILL A HIP HOP ARTIST

Once people got past going in on how bad they felt the 2016 XXL Freshman Class cover was, they moved on to who they felt like had been omitted. Noticeably missing from the list was Post Malone. XXL’s editor-in-chief, Vanessa Satton, told The Breakfast Club that Post Malone wasn’t selected as she was informed by his camp that he was no longer paying attention to Hip Hop as much, and that he’s going in a more rock/country/pop direction. Post Malone took to Instagram to respond to Vanessa’s claims. He seemed pretty offended that she’d suggest that he was abandoning Hip Hop.

“My love of music should never be questioned. I shouldn’t be chastised in whichever way I see fit. I never have once said that I’m not going to make hip hop anymore. I have a hip hop album coming out in August. I made a HIP HOP mixtape promoting my HIP HOP album.”

Post Malone also set the record straight about why he ultimately wasn’t on the cover. He said he was invited, but he didn’t feel like taking the 6 hour flight to New York. What are your thoughts?
