Drake Ties Michael Jackson For Billboard Chart Record

…BUT IT LOOKS LIKE DRIZZY’S REIGN IS ABOUT TO END

(AllHipHop News) Drake is one of the biggest Pop stars in the world. The Toronto representative further solidified that position by pulling even with the incomparable King Of Pop Michael Jackson in the Billboard record books.

With his Views album leading the Billboard 200 and his “One Dance” single leading the Hot 100 at the same time for the seventh straight week, Drake has accomplished a feat for a male artist not done since 1983. Jackson’s Thriller and “Billie Jean” led both charts simultaneously for seven consecutive weeks that year.

Whitney Houston and The Beatles hold the all-time record with 12 weeks each. The Fab Four totaled their 12 weeks with three different songs and two different albums in 1964.

Houston collected her 12 weeks for The Bodyguard soundtrack and “I Will Always Love You.” The singer known as The Voice achieved that chart record in December 1992 through February 1993.

It appears Drake will not be able to break the tie with MJ this week. According to HitsDailyDoubleCalifornia by Blink-182 is on pace to take over the top spot on the album chart.
