Lil Durk Talks #BlackLivesMatterTattoo and Working With Min. Farrakhan To End Violence

LIL DURK AND MINISTER FARRAKHAN WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT CHICAGO VIOLENCE!

(AllHipHop News) AllHipHop.com recently caught up with Chicago MC Lil Durk for an interview, in which the rapper discusses his new album Lil Durk 2x the issue of crime in Chicago and his support for the Black Lives Matter movement and more.

Durk addressed the current crime issue in his Chicago hometown by stating that the work is definitely being put in to improve the community for the youth.

“We just been trying to politic with everybody in Chicago just to get our heads together and make everything slow down,” Lil Durk told AllHipHop.com. “The killings period. But definitely for the kids, because it’s a whole nother level when you’re killing kids.”

To address the issue, Durk says that he’s had two meetings with longtime Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan to come up with solutions to the violence in the city.

“We had two meetings about trying to put together something that stops the violence in Chicago. He’s definitely 1,000. He got a lot of knowledge, and I listen to him. I like him and I don’t really like everybody like that. He can see the bigger picture.”

The recent unjust killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile by police struck a nerve with Durk as well, prompting the MC to get a Black Lives Matter tattoo on his leg to display his solidarity with the movement.

“The last two deaths that were on camera, that really made me mad,” Lil Durk said. “I thought I should get a tattoo just to show it [anger] and that I’m with it.”
