Birdman Target Of Lawsuit To the Amount Of $3.3 Million For Unpaid Sample Royalties

LEGAL WOES FOR BIRDMAN

(AllHipHop News) Birdman lies in the crosshairs of a lawsuit once again, this one to to the tune of $3.3 million.

f0r two tracks released from the Cash Money label in 2007  containing uncleared samples.

According to TMZ, the songs in question are Lloyd’s “You” featuring Lil Wayne and Glasses Malone “Certified” featuring Akon.

Lloyd’s “You”,  which turned out to be a  hit reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Charts, contains a sample from the track “True” from 80s British rock group Spandeau Ballet.

The commonly sampled track from the 80s collective that has been sampled by other hip-hop groups including PM Dawn’s 1991 hit “Set Adrift On Memory Bliss.”

Birdman is also still currently in a heated battle with former protege Lil Wayne over a $51 million lawsuit presented by Wayne revolving around the delayed release of album Tha Carter 5.
