First Week Sales Predictions For Young Thug’s ‘Jeffery’ Are In

DID THE ALBUM COVER CONTROVERSY HELP OR HURT THUGGER?

(AllHipHop News) Young Thug managed to generate significant buzz for his Jeffery commercial mixtape when the project’s cover art hit the internet.

The photo of the Atlanta rapper wearing a dress led to both criticism and praise.

Did the cross-dressing hype help Thugger earn high sales?

According to HDD, Jeffery is on pace to sell less than 20,000 copies in its first week.

The industry website predicts Thug will sell around 16,000 – 19,000 out the gate. With streaming numbers added in, the tape could reach 33,000 – 37,000 equivalent album units.

Young Thug’s Slime Season 3 dropped in March of this year.

The 300 Entertainment artist totaled 38,000 album equivalent units with 22,000 sold copies at that time.

If the predictions hold up, the traditional sales for Jeffery will be slightly below those for Slime Season 3.

The two projects could also be very close when it comes to sales plus streaming numbers.

Jeffery is likely to fall well short of the sales/SPS sums of the other new releases from last week.

Florida Georgia Line, Barbra Streisand, and Britney Spears will open in the top 3 spots on the album chart.

Thug is expected to land between 7-9. This would be his second Top 10 project after Slime Season debuted at #7.
