Donald Glover Welcomes First Child

CONGRATS TO DONALD GLOVER!!

(AllHipHop News) Actor/rapper Donald Glover has quietly been enjoying life as a new dad after welcoming a baby earlier this year.

“The Community” star’s girlfriend reportedly gave birth to their first child in the spring, but the private pair has managed to keep the news out of the headlines, despite stepping out with a baby stroller in New York back in May, according to UsMagazine.com.

Glover, who raps under the moniker Childish Gambino, has a lot to celebrate – in addition to starting a family, he has received high praise for his new TV series “Atlanta,” a comedy/drama created by and starring the 33-year-old.

In the show, the star portrays Earn, a young man struggling to survive in Atlanta, Georgia, as he tries to reconnect with his cousin.

“Atlanta” debuted on U.S. network FX last month and was renewed for a second season days after its launch.

Meanwhile, Glover’s movie career is also going from strength to strength.

He recently emerged as the favorite to portray a young Lando Calrissian in the planned Han Solo “Star Wars” spin-off movie, while earlier this summer, he joined the cast of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,”  in which British actor Tom Holland will play the titular superhero.

Details about Glover’s role have been kept under wraps, but his part in the action reboot marks his first onscreen appearance in the film franchise after famously launching an Internet campaign to become the web-slinging superhero in 2010.

Using the hashtag #Donald4SpiderMan, he started a grassroots movement urging Sony bosses to let him audition to become the first black Spider-Man, and fans quickly rallied around the star’s plea.

The part ultimately went to Andrew Garfield, but Glover did score a role in the Spider-Man universe by voicing Miles Morales, the half-black, half-Latino version of Peter Parker in the animated TV series “Ultimate Spider-Man.”
