EXCLUSIVE: Nick Grant Talks Upcoming ‘Return Of The Cool’ Album & Freestyling On Funk Flex’s Show

THE BUZZING EMCEE IS LOOKING TO DROP ONE OF THE BEST DEBUTS IN HIP HOP

(AllHipHop News) Nick Grant has spent the last year building his buzz as the next lyrical rap star to emerge from the South.

Over the last 12 months, the South Carolina-bred, Atlanta-based rhymer released his well received 88 mixtape and announced a deal with Epic Records.

Up next for Grant is his first studio album Return Of The Cool. The project is expected to arrive before the end of 2016.

“Growing up on some of the greats like Jay Z, Nas, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G., researching their work, I’ve taken that knowledge, but of course use my own experiences, to create a body of work that I hope will be amongst the conversations of being one of the best debut albums in Hip Hop,” Grant tells AllHipHop.com. “I want a storied career, that’s my focus; that’s what I get up every day and work towards.”

Recently, NG furthered displayed his hard work and advanced wordplay during his BET Hip Hop Awards debut cypher appearance. He later spit more bars in a rap session with radio personality Funkmaster Flex.

“When I heard that ‘State Property Takeover,’ being on Funkmaster Flex’s platform became a huge goal of mine as an artist, so to have now accomplished that is a huge feat,” says Grant about his “Freestyle #018” on Hot 97.

Nick Grant will be performing at Hot 97’s “Who’s Next? Live” showcase at SOB’s in New York City on October 18.
