R&B songstress Ciara has dropped her libel claims against rap star/ex-boyfriend Future. According to reports, Ciara’s lawyer filed documents to dismiss the remaining libel claim in her $15 million slander/libel lawsuit, after Future publically declared that she was an unfit mother in various interviews, while claiming “this b###h got control problems.” Ciara’s lawyer knew she couldn’t win this portion of the lawsuit, because she is not suffering from any financial hardship as a result of Future’s insults. The ongoing lawsuit isn’t finished. TMZ.com reports that Ciara is still suing Future for what’s known as “False Light” for making her look bad with his comments.
Rapper Slim Thug is developing his own line of craft beer. Over the summer, the “Like a Boss” star enjoyed a taste testing session at the 8th Wonder Brewery in his native Houston, Texas, and now he’s revealed the meeting was part of his new project, which is set to launch in early 2017. Slim Thug won’t be the first musician to enter the alcohol industry – rockers Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Megadeth all boast their own beer brands, while fellow rappers Drake, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Ludacris, and Dr. Dre have tasted success in the liquor business.
Rapper Nelly has joined hit U.S. TV and radio show “Skip And Shannon: Undisputed” as a contributor. Nelly will be featured alongside hosts Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and moderator Joy Taylor to discuss sports starting on November 1. In addition to rapping, the 41-year-old played football and baseball before he became famous. He is also part owner of U.S. basketball team the Charlotte Hornets. The news comes two months after officials at America’s Internal Revenue Service served Nelly with a reported $2 million federal tax lien in August. Additionally, bosses at the Missouri Department of Revenue claimed he owes them almost $150,000 in unpaid state taxes from 2013.
