THE ATLANTA-BASED RAPPER HAS COMMENTS ABOUT THE GENERATIONAL DIVIDE IN HIP HOP

(AllHipHop News) The generational divide in Hip Hop has become a central topic in the culture.

New school rappers have caught heat from older fans, radio personalities, and veteran artists for what is viewed as a lack of knowledge and respect for previous eras of rap.

In addition, the new sub-genre that is often referred to as “mumble rap” has been the target of many members of Generation X.Atlanta-based rhymer Rich The Kid sat down with VladTV to talk about the relationship between some of the old guard and the new class of rap stars.

“Some other artists – artists that’s been in the game – they feel intimidated by younger artists coming in the game, taking sh-t over,” said Rich. “They’re looking at their numbers and why my sh-t skyrocketing over theirs.”

The “Like This” performer went on to add he still listens to older artists and would like to see people collaborate more.

“Everybody should just be working together and congratulating instead of getting in their feelings and being jealous at younger cats,” stated Rich.
