(AllHipHop News) A new TV series is coming to television, and it’s going to be based on the life of hip-hop superstar Nas.

“Street Dreams” will be set against a backdrop of the 1990s, when a young Nas was coming of age.

The time period was chronicled on his breakthrough album Illmatic, while the series takes its name from his “Street Dreams” single from his album It Was Written.

According to Deadline, BET decided to order the pilot for “Street Dreams” after the phenomenal success of their original mini series “The New Edition Story.”

The hour long series is executive produced by “Rush” creator Jonathan Levine, and Nas.
