Nick Cannon Says His Community Is More Important Than TV, Sources Reportedly Fear Mental Health Issues

THE ACTOR/COMEDIAN JOINED A BLACK LIVES MATTER EVENT IN NYC

(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon partially built his career in entertainment through television gigs like All That, Wild ‘N Out, and Real Husbands of Hollywood.

The recent dustup with NBC executives over his hosting job with America’s Got Talent has some observers wondering about his future with the network or other small-screen opportunities.

However, according to Cannon, TV is not near the top of his list of life priorities at the moment.

“At this point right now, my focus is working with my community. Television is a small part of what I do,” stated Cannon during a Black Lives Matter event at New York City’s South Bronx Charter School. “They thought it was a major asset in my life, but it really isn’t.”

Over the last few months, Cannon has become an outspoken voice on politics, police brutality, and social issues.

He regularly uses his social media accounts to express his thoughts on society and culture.

Besides cutting ties with AGT, Page Six reports Cannon fired longtime members of his team, publicist Alla Plotkin and agent Chris Smith.

The gossip publication also claims insiders connected to Cannon are worried about the actor/comedian’s mental health.

The Page Six article reads:

Meanwhile, we’re told Cannon has recently “got really into religion,” wears robes and a turban and refers to himself as “Reverend Dr. Cannon.” Apparently he isn’t attached to a specific religion so much as a general spirituality.

Cannon’s Instagram page contains several recent posts about pain and depression.

The 36-year-old Hollywood veteran uploaded a meme that states, “Sometimes when I say, ‘I’m okay,” I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight, and say, ‘I know you’re not.'”

Had a great day with the Inspirational Students at the South Bronx Charter School! Thank you all for your love and support! #StandUpDontShoot #BlackLivesMatter

It’s hard to explain people what’s going on inside when you don’t understand it yourself… but I’m a warrior, I will figure it out then share my pain with the world eventually….??
