“Atlanta is not the South,” Pimp C. told Ozone Magazine. “Atlanta is not the South, gotdamn it, when you go to Atlanta what does your clock say? When you get off the plane from Los Angeles or Texas, what time do it be over there? Atlanta is East Coast time. You n***as ain’t in the South.”

The comments sparked an outcry of comments, including many from Atlanta fans, who were offended by the remarks made about the city.

Pimp C, who lived in Atlanta for almost six years, has issued an apology to his fans in Atlanta, noting that he’s worked with many notable artists from the city, including Outkast, who is featured on UGK’s current hit single “Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You).”

“To all my Atlanta fans and friends, I want to apologize for my statements in Ozone Magazine about Atlanta not being the South. That was a bulls**t statement,” Pimp C said in a statement issued to AllHipHop.com. “Atlanta has always been the dirty motherf***in South!”

During the interview with Ozone, Pimp C went on to call out a number of notables within the Hip-Hop community, including Lil’ Troy, Lil’ Flip, Ne-Yo, Russell Simmons and unnamed rappers from Atlanta, who are phony “D-Boys” [slang for drug dealers].
