Once again, people are missing the point. Yes, free speech is one of the most important rights we have. Yes, prostitutes exist, and have existed long before hip-hop was around. Yes, Al Sharpton has a perm.

But I think the point here is that just because we *can*, does that mean we should? Be honest, fellas - how many times have you stepped into a club, or the mall and said to your boy "damn, there's some hoes in here" or "This bitch just gave me her number" or some such statement? In other words, how often have you used the word "ho" or "bitch" as a synonym for "woman"? That's what we need to stop doing, because although some women are prostitutes by profession, "woman" ≠ "ho".

One example that always stuck with me was a Busta Rymes track (sorry, can't remember which one specifically) where the hook said something about "all my niggas and my bitches", but on the radio edit, he switched it to "all my brothas and my sistas". Now if you guys can't see that it's fucked up that those terms are interchangeable in our culture, then there's something wrong with you.
