The rapper has projected his song “New Slaves” onto the walls of 66 location all over the nation.

In the song, Kanye talks about the New World Order, paparazzi, his frustrations over a sparse, but bouncy beat.

Below, is the Williamsburg, Brooklyn projection of “New Slave.”

She told news magazine Rolling Out that she is the only person that can approve such an event.

“I am disappointed that Rock the Bells would not contact me directly about the use of my husband’s image,” she told Rolling Out. “I am looking forward to talking to Wu-Tang about this matter and coming up with a positive solution in order to bring my husband’s image to the stage once again.”

“My son, Young Dirty Bastard, [also known as] Boy Jones has always performed at Rock the Bells and looks forward to working with his Uncle RZA every year,” she said.

That’s right: Superstar supermom Beyoncé is expecting her second child with hubby Jay-Z, multiple sources exclusively confirm to E! News.

The news follows rampant speculation that the “Countdown” songbird was pregnant, even as the couple remained tight-lipped about their ever-growing family.

Rumors first began churning that the Grammy winner was with child when, earlier this month, she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing a custom-made Givenchy gown that deftly concealed her stomach, its bodice cinched high above the waist just as its intricate pattern made it difficult to discern any change in her silhouette.

Speculation then went into overdrive Tuesday after Beyoncé was forced to cancel her Mrs. Carter Show performance in Antwerp, Belgium, after doctors advised her to rest “as a result of dehydration and exhaustion.”

The 31-year-old recently spoke out about the possibility of giving 1-year-old Blue Ivy a sibling, telling ABC News that she “would like more children” and explaining that she thinks her daughter “needs some company.”
Looks like that company is coming sooner rather than later.

Changing the opinion of a man openly tells you you can’t tell him nothing and he’s a god is close to impossible. However, Tumblr’s Music Evangelist, Nate Auerbach wants Kanye West to come back to reality for a second.

Last week, West’s long time stylist, Ibn Jasper quoted the arrogant lyricist on his Instagram account during West’s performance at an afterparty for the Met Gala event in New York City. In an interview with Soundctrl.com, Auerbach claims Kanye was not an inspiration for Tumblr’s creation, however does attest that the Chicago rapper had an indirect influence on the revolutionary microblogging site:

“How many rap lyrics do you take literally? Lil Wayne says he’s a Martian. Tumblr is influenced by our users and by the creators on our platform. It would probably be more accurate to say that Kanye’s fans have influenced Tumblr. One of my favorite tumblogs is All Yeezy Everything.”

Prior to Tumblr’s inception in February 2007, West’s personal website kanyewest.com featured a very similar layout including a continuous scroll and a streamlined design for posting picture sets.

Chances are that the father-to-be has more pressing matters to deal with than validating his influence. According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian is planning on accompanying Kanye on his upcoming tour in October and has made demands to have soundproof  hotel rooms and cribs at every tour date for the newborn child.

10). Two of the South’s best, Big Boi and Killer Mike, are on the “Shoes for Running Tour” that is already underway and isn’t set to conclude until mid-July.  It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 10 years since Outkast’s last proper studio album.  And while Andre 3000 has ventured into other things, Big Boi released two solo albums- the latter of which he is promoting with his current tour.

9). Just like the album cover suggests, Mac Miller has said that his new album, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, is very personal.  He even told Hot 97 that he has pushed back the collaboration project with Pharrell, Pink Slime, in order to build his own brand.  But fans who have been eagerly awaiting that will get a little something to tide them over on Miller’s upcoming LP.  One of the confirmed tracks, “Objects in the Mirror,” is produced by Skateboard P.

8). Although there is no official release date, Game recently released a tweet letting the world know that his Operation Kill Everything mixtape is coming soon.  After Jesus Piece received a positive response in late 2012, this new project is a great way to keep his momentum going and introduce material under newly-formed Rolex Records, a company the former G-Unit member formed with Atlanta rapper Stat Quo.

7). Summer sequels aren’t just limited to movies.  After the success of last year’s “Under the Influence Tour”, Wiz Khalifa is still smoking a year later with a follow-up to the aforementioned outing.  On this go round though, he is touring with A$AP Rocky instead of Mac Miller.  The tour has 20 stops and begins on July 7 in San Francisco, CA, and ends on August 11 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

6). On “Cole Summer,” J. Cole rhymes, “And I told my fellas, I dropped “Friday Night Lights” in the winter just to make her jealous/ Wanted to drop the album in the summer, but the label didn’t think that they could sell it/Recoup the first week, I think it ain’t s**t they can tell us.”  Not only that, the album debuted at #1, went gold, and was critically acclaimed.  Now he gets to drop in the summer with Born Sinner, set for release on June 25th.

5). LL Cool J has made some unfavorable musical choices lately such as “Ratchet” and “Accidental Racist,” but hopefully his “Kings of the Mic Tour” can help make up for it.  Accompanying LL on this 25-date tour are fellow Hip-Hop legends Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and De La Soul.  This is an outstanding ensemble of Hip-Hop’s elder statesmen and all of them are known for great live performances.

4). Historically, Hot 97’s Summer Jam has had some major moments.  Remember when Jay-Z put up pictures of Prodigy in a leotard?  Or when The Game beat up the giant rat that was presumably 50 Cent?  With the 20th anniversary of the Hip-Hop festival taking place in June, some big surprises are bound to be in store for all those in attendance at Met Life Life stadium.  Not to mentioned, big names like Kendrick Lamar, the Wu-Tang Clan, Chris Brown, and 2 Chainz have already been announced as part of the lineup.

3). Who would have ever thought that a blonde-haired blue-eyed teeny bopper and a rapper from Marcy Projects would tour with each other as “Legends of the Summer?”  Nevertheless, after each reaching the pinnacle of success in their respective genre, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z decided to hit the road together and perform their music for the masses.  And even with Kid Rock being critical of the high ticket price, the shows will undoubtedly be packed with people ranging from those too young to remember NSYNC to the ones who saw Jay-Z tour with Big Daddy Kane, and all ages in between.

2). “We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013,” Paul Rosenberg, president of Shady Records told Billboard magazine.  “It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when.”  Local Detroit station 95.5 even said it could drop on July 2nd.  If that’s the case, one of the biggest rappers could provide help provide Hip-Hop with one of its biggest summers in recent memory.

The speculative release date , June 18th, announced via Kanye West’s Twitter account, had the Internet going crazy.  Now, the album just has to live up to the hype.  Fortunately, Mr. West has always delivered quality material and he is never short on confidence.  And with a wide of range of artists said to have recorded new material with Kanye (Skrillex, Daft Punk, Odd Future, Chief Keef), his new album has the potential to take Hip-Hop into uncharted territory…again.

(Southaven, MS) A woman who was swindled by a famous rapper says ‘Tim Dog’ may be up to his biggest scam yet.
The rapper reportedly died in February, but the Mid-South woman he scammed believes the con man may have faked his own death.
Timothy Blair, more commonly known as Tim Dog, owes her money.
When he was reported dead, she says, all the payments stopped.
He got famous in the 90s for his song about Compton, but Tim Dog’s lasting legacy, in Esther Pilgrim’s mind, will be something else, “He really thinks he can outsmart everybody.”
She says the rapper swindled her out $32,000, “A fictitious business deal.”
She’s not the only one who says Tim Dog is a con man.
“Twenty victims have contacted me personally from around the world,” she said.
In 2011, a Mississippi judge ordered Blair to pay her back, “One hundred dollars per month.”
Esther says she received those payments up until she got the phone call that Tim Dog was dead.
In February, media outlets, including Rolling Stone, reported the 46-year-old rapper died from complications of diabetes.
Esther says at first, she believed it like everybody else.
Then she did some digging, “There was nothing of what you would normally find.  What city? Who found him? There was nothing with any type of concrete details.”
She even had a friend go down to Atlanta this week, where he allegedly died, to find his death certificate, “They weren’t able to find any record of his death.”
In fact, News Channel 3 used private investigator Andy Wilson who said he couldn’t find a death record for Timothy Blair either.
Esther says Tim Dog owes upwards of $2 million to people around the world and she believes his own death might be just be his biggest con yet, “Oh, I think there is a great chance that he’s alive.”
A private investigator has also confirmed an active address for Blair in Atlanta as of April.
Blair has allegedly been dead since February 14th.

Since catching the attention of independent label Funk Volume, Dizzy has been a roll. To date he has already toured both nationally as well as internationally, and recently landed on XXL’s coveted 2013 Freshmen cover; even more impressive is the fact that he was voted on as a fan favorite based solely off the strength of his rapidly growing fan base.

Not bad for an artist whose first album, the well received SmokeOut Conversations, was only released in 2012.

AllHipHop: While you’ve actually lived in a multitude of places you are most closely associated with Vegas; was it difficult to break out of a region with little national attention?

Dizzy: I felt like a lot of people in the city were doing the same thing, same sound. Everybody wants the same thing. So in 2011 all I did was shows. You basically have to start performing outside of this city in order to make it out of it.

AllHipHop: You were introduced to the industry at an early age due to your mother’s former role as a prominent concert promoter; how did this affect your views on the game?

Dizzy: I feel like I got an early glimpse at what it was like. That’s why I don’t want to go major, because they’ll push me or try to mold me into what they feel I should be, or should be talking about. I just like to do me.

AllHipHop: Since joining forces with indie label Funk Volume you have worked heavily with other label mates including; Swizz, DJ Hoppa, Jarren Benton, and Hopsin, how easy was the transition for you?

Dizzy: I was introduced to Hop through Dame and Swizz. They took me out to vibe and just see if I would even get along with dude. We had about a 45 minute conversation, about what I don’t remember, he was kind of stand offish at first but in the end he was cool as fuck. We been vibing ever since. As far as Funk Volume is concerned, I love it; they give me my space, so I work hard in return.

AllHipHop: You’ve already gotten the chance to experience life on the road as a touring artist, both with Hop as well as your own showcases; how has that experience been for you?

Dizzy: I got to travel overseas for a tour that Hop headlined. Iceland, Germany, Australia; I was able to build a connection with actual fans outside of the internet. It’s all about building those connections. Once I dropped my own project I instantly got right on the road. Some sold out, some were smaller, but everyone there fucked with me. They knew the music. I just like being on the road, I’m a little different; I’m just trying to work enough to be comfortable and take care of my daughter.

AllHipHop: Speaking of your project, you released your first official one SmokeOut Conversations in 2012; was it received in the way that you anticipated?

Dizzy: It actually did more than what I wanted it to do. It got the ball rolling for everything. Since then I’ve been consistently working and touring. That’s my life. My newest project The Golden Age Mixtape was actually put together right before I went on the road.

AllHipHop: How have things changed for you since landing in XXL’s 2013 Freshman class? Have you seen an increased interest in your work?

MUSIC: Dizzy Wright Ft. Joey Badass “Maintain”

Dizzy: To be honest it’s hard to say because I’ve been so preoccupied on the road; but they put together some shows for all of the artists that made it. I’m still just taking it all in. I’m living life and still learning. I’m all about doing you. It’s hard for me to put myself in any type of category because I like to talk about everything. Things I’ve experienced, things I’ve seen.

AllHipHop: So what lies ahead? At just 22 you already seem far ahead of your time, is there anything that you feel sets you apart from some of your counterparts?

Dizzy: I like to turn up just like everyone else, but that’s not all that I’m about either. I don’t say that I’m great, but I feel as if I could be. I believe in giving yourself room to grow into being great. You become great when you gain experience. There’s so much life to live, but if you haven’t been outside of the hood you may never get to experience it. We just confirmed another tour, new music coming out. I’m just trying to grow and continue to make music.

Shyne recently contacted VladTV and notified us that he may be joining forces with Drake’s OVO crew, as he’s been working with Drake’s artist P. Reign on music projects. While fans will have to wait and see if any official contracts get signed, it would be a huge deal for rap if Drake and Shyne brought their talents together for future work. We’ve known and covered Chris “Broadway” Romero for quite some time. He came in the game with a rap artist, who was then trying to sign to 50 Cent’s G-Unit. But, as fate would have it, Broadway started working with 50 Cent instead, manning the mogul’s online enterprise. Not only did Broadway have a vision, he’s always had an extraordinary gift for making these wildly popular 3D videos. But, these days, Broadway has, well, broadened his horizons. He is now the VP of Animation R&D at 212 Decibels, parent company of GigIt, an upcoming Facebook game.
But even before his foray with 50, Fat Joe had Broadway animating Big Pun after the Bronx bomber had passed away. He knows what he’s doing when it comes to bringing legends back. Exclusively, he explained to AllHipHop how the “holograms” of Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Eazy-E came about and how they will quell fears in the Hip-Hop community.

At GigIt, I have a talented and growing 3D animation team that is creating avatars, stages, clothing designs, and motion capture moves, all to bring everything an artist is into the game.  Some of my elite artists from this team will be working with me on the project, as Eazy-E and ODB will also be coming to the game as well.  When you consider the popular games on Facebook are – FarmVille type games, our lineup of music, artists, stages, and brands – in this growing world we are creating is very exciting.

Chang Weisberg from Guerilla Union is down with GigIt.  Inspired by the 2pac Hologram, he brought the idea of bringing ODB and Eazy E back to the stage, with the Wu Tang Clan and Bone Thugs in an unprecedented show for Rock the Bells’ 10th Anniversary.  GigIt CEO John Acunto is a visionary who truly loves great music and the concert experience, and he understood my passion for hip-hop and 3D animation.  Soon after joining the company, John sat me down and told me the plans he and Chang came up with.  I thought it was a dream!

As AllHipHop reported on a decade ago, animating rappers has been my thing since 2000, where I created a 3D animated avatar of the late Big Pun for his “How We Roll” single.  More animated videos followed with G Unit’s “My Buddy” and 50 Cent’s “Piggy Bank” and Prodigy’s “Illuminati.”  In my time I also learned to direct in real life as well, directing 50′s “I Get Money,” Lloyd Banks “Beamer Benz or Bentley” and many more.  I wanted to make sure I understood all elements of visual production because modern entertainment is more integrated than ever.
We will be using similar technology to Tupac’s Hologram to bring these legends back to the stage.  We will push avatar visuals and the stage experience to the limit.  The avatar likenesses will be approved by Ol’ Dirty’s mother Cherry Jones, and Tamica Wright, Eazy E’s widow.

I understand people’s mixed feelings since we are responsible for extending these legacies.  It’s nothing to take lightly.  But these artists thrived in a different era, before HD, before the whole world was connected with high speed Internet.  As a generation that grew up on the music, we are now caretakers of what we held most dear.  Our memories of great times and these artists that gave our lives a soundtrack can be brought back, even more vivid than ever before, and shot back around the world.  This would not be happening without family approval, and without the involvement and excitement from the groups ODB and Eazy E anchored.  There will always be opposition to new the great power of new technology, but fans should rest assured that this power is in responsible hands.

MEDIA TRYING TO OUT ‘YE?

Here is the doozie and I just skipped it the other day. But, dammmmmnnnnn…..they are trying to”out” Kanye West. I don’t know Kanye. But, I don’t get the sense that he’s gay. In Touch magazine is going into another realm with their speculation that designer Ricardo Tisci and Yeezy have a thing going on. By the way, Riccardo Tisci designed the Watch The Throne album cover.

Here is what they say:

According to the mag, Kardashian’s first Met Gala experience was a “nightmare” because “some online commenters” speculated that her boyfriend is “in a romantic relationship with the man who designed her controversial dress, Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci.”
A so-called “friend” tells the tab, “Kim freaked out. If it turns out Kanye is involved with Riccardo, she will be utterly embarrassed — more so than she’s ever been in her life.”
In Touch writes, “There are some facts Kim can’t deny,” noting, “Kanye has spent her entire pregnancy living close to Riccardo in the French capital… And Riccardo recently purchased an apartment less than half a mile from Kanye’s in NYC’s Soho neighborhood.”
“Kanye is obsessed with Riccardo,” reveals another supposed “insider” for the rag, who adds, “They have a very deep bond.”
BEYONCE BACKLASH?

Word on the street is that Beyonce backlash may be in full effect. Remember, she basically banned the media that was not approved by her from taking pics of her. Well…here we are now. They wrote a letter and they are NOT playing!

With his mixtapes already earning him radio play, Kirko Bangz is finally preparing his debut album.

“The Album is called Bigger than Me. I got crazy [songs] on the album already, I’m just trying to take my time, do all the right way. [I'm taking] baby steps.”

Kirko also spoke about getting in the lab with the King of the South, T.I,  “We’re going to get in the studio and make some classic[s] for sure.”

Ok, ok, it doesn’t feel like it. Many states have yet to break 80 degrees. But, as long the sun rises and sets, the coming of summer is inevitable. On the silver screen, big-budget blockbusters are also an indicator that summer is right around the corner.

This year, the summer kick-off film debuted in early May with Iron Man 3. The following week saw the release of epic and sweeping Gatsby, with Leonardo DiCaprio in what may be his finest role yet. May 10 also brought the family-friendly, Peeples, to your local theater. But, there are still lots of great movies to look forward to this summer. Here are a few of our picks.

Star Trek: Into Darkness

May 17

Starring: Chris Pine, Zoe Saladana

Directed by: JJ Abrams

The big budget, splashy second-installment of the Star Trek series is getting incredible reviews. Into Darkness has action and laughs, and it wouldn’t be movie featuring James T. Kirk without some outer space lovin’. A battle with the Klingons and an enigmatic villan that makes you love to hate him. The second installment is even better than the first.

Fast & Furious 6

May 24

Starring: Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson

The hard-to-kill franchise returns with a summer hit that is sure to feature fast cars and fast girls. The crew reunites to defeat a rogue driving crew and clear their names. We are willing to bet that there will definitely be at least one more FF movie, I mean, you gotta make a lucky 7, right?

The Hangover Pt. 3

May 24 (Moved to May 23)

Starring: Zach Galifinakis, Bradley Cooper, Mike Epps

What can you say about the Hangover series? The first film created breakout stars of Galifinakis, who is funny in any and everything he does, as well as Bradley Cooper. The finale of the films is full of gags, jokes, and a kidnapping, like usual. But, writer/director Todd Phillips states that the movie has a very clear ending to bring this hilarious trilogy to a close.

After Earth

May 31

Starring: Will Smith, Jaden Smith

For years, the summer belonged to Will Smith who had hit after hit starting with Independence Day in 1996. This year, Smith reunites with his son for an exciting trip into the future where he plays Cypher Raige (dope name) father to Kitai whose bad behavior is a cry for his father’s time and attention. Cypher takes his son on a trip to Earth which turns out to be anything but routine.

This is the End

June 12

Starring: Craig Robinson, Kevin Hart, James Franco

A stoner hit with an all-star cast, This is the End, is sure to be so full of jokes, they will barely fit on the screen. The film stars a dozen comedy actors all playing fictional versions of themselves. After a series of cataclysmic events, the friends are isolated in a bunker and their friendship is tested as the world ends around them.

The Lone Ranger

July 3

Starring: Johnny Depp

An adaptation of the popular television series, The Lone Ranger features Johnny Depp as Tonto and Arnie Hammer as the masked hero. The story is told from Tonto’s point of view of two unlikely heroes fighting greed and corruption.

Fruitvale Station

July 26

Starring: Michael B. Jordan

An amazing independent film, Fruitvale Station stars Michael B. Jordan in the based on a true story version of the life of 22-year-old Oscar Grant, and his experiences on the last day of his life before he was shot to death by police in 2009.

2 Guns

August 2

Starring: Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg

By the time the leaves begin to fall, a crime drama rounds out the summer season. A DEA Agent (Washington) and Naval Intelligence Officer (Wahlberg) are set up and accused of stealing money from the mob. After realizing they were tricked by the CIA, they join forces to clear their names and stay alive.

The pair of Hip-Hop legends will have holograms performing this year at the 10-year anniversary of the rap festival.

Eazy-E will perform virtually with Bone Thugs-In-Harmony and ODB will rock with Wu Tang. Organizers said Eazy never blessed the Rock The Bells stage and ODB only did once.

Also, the “holograms” are approved by Eazy-E’s wife Tomica Wright and Ol Dirty’s mother, Cherry Jones.

Tupac’s Coachella appearance inspired the new virtual performances at Rock The Bells, organizers admitted.

Chris Brown and R. Kelly were announced as the first two performers for the BET Awards ’13, but Stephen G. Hill also announced that other big names were going to be performing at the Staples Center during the BET Experience at L.A. Live. Most notably, Beyonce’ will be performing the first night of the BET Experience, for her first U.S. arena show in 3 years. Snoop Dogg, R. Kelly, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, ScHoolboy Q, R. Kelly, New Edition, Erykah Badu and many more artists will also be performing throughout the weekend.

Drake garnered the most nominations this year, with an impressive 12 nominations, including Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Video of the Year, while Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz tied with 8 nominations. Also, the category for the Video of the Year Award has expanded to 10 nominees; including Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Miguel and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

While label troubles severely prevented her from releasing new music, the Philly bred rhyme spitter is now the head of her own label, From The Rib Music and has partnered with SONY Red Distribution to release her new album. Eve sat down exclusively with AllHipHop to talk about the sound of Liplock, her legacy and more, including her take on today’s current music scene.

Jay-Z’s delegation included a State-Department “reliable” personage who transmitted the Obama’s administration’s position.  Once the Republican/Right got wind of this overture they screamed bloody murder, but could do little about it as lifting the Cuban Blockade is now crucial to the US reasserting dominance in a post Castro-Chavez Latin America as the geo-economic center for Latin American nations. So Assata is a pawn in the chess game of US imperial diplomacy.

Nevertheless, you can’t talk about Memphis Hip-Hop without mentioning the classically trained and multi-platinum producer Drumma Boy, born Christopher James Gholson, who once attended the University of Memphis as a Music Business Major.

Drumma called in to the site yesterday (May 10) from Memphis where he has been enjoying the Memphis Grizzlies’ playoff run and where just a few days ago, Drumma boy was joined by Lil Wayne and Yo Gotti at the Grizzlies’ playoff game.

“I’m out here for these Grizz! Memphis Grizzlies are in the playoffs so we doing all our work out here man.  Theres a lot of positive energy out here in the city so its good to see the city in this spirit. If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I put on for my city man. Like Diddy in New York, its Drumma in Memphis,” Drumma Boy said.

Fresh off the success of sound scoring scary movies, Drumma spoke about the experience of writing music for movies for the horror flicks.

“I’m doing a lot of movie sound scores. I did a movie called ‘Holla II,’ I’m doing ‘Blood First.’ I’m doing a lot of different things that I haven’t done before. I’ve been on the mic hosting, DJing and trying to take things to that next level.” Drumma Boy told AllHipHop.com. “I scored the scary movie in 14 days, and it was just a matter of time frame, understanding your budget, your access to musicians etcetera.  Or how about instead of hiring all these people I can just play this and write this out myself. Then just being effective as far as matching the music to the emotion of the film, the music has to carry you through the moments and the suspense by changing the key at key moments. Like you gonna know when someone is going to get robbed or killed or, like oh they bout to have sex.  It’s about 10 or 11 beats in there and my music is placed as well, so it’s a blessing.”

Currently Drumma Boy is gearing up for the release of Chris Brown’s upcoming album and he is busy on several other projects as well.

“Yea I got a lot of different tapes I’m working on. I’m working on ‘Strictly for the Strippers,’ I’m working ‘Clash of the Titans’ with DJ Paul. I’m working on ‘Welcome to My City Part 3,’ its going to come out with a DVD documentary as well as part 3 of the trilogy.  I’m working on Chris Brown’s project, I’m working on Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, the same stuff like that,” Drumma boy explained to AllHipHop.com.

Beyond his own personal music, Drumma Boy shed light on how he developed a friendship and working relationship with Epic Record’s Yo Gotti, as the two began working together early on in their careers on Memphis Hip-Hop scene.

“Man you know we pretty much came up together. When I moved out to Cordova, Tennessee, Gotti was one of the first artist that I was hearing about in his hood. I would be  selling tapes in the mall and street cats was talking about his music and I ended up getting his number, I rolled through the hood and I bumped into him and played him some beats,” Drumma Boy explained to AllHipHop.com.  ”He told me he wanted this one and that one, I told him how much and he pulled the money out of his pocket and paid me on the spot. Some people try to just hear the beats for entertainment or something and they aren’t about that business. He’s a dude that’s about his business if he respects what you do and he was just about his business. Regardless of if you come from the trap or if you come from the court playing ball, as long as you understand the game, and that’s one things cats don’t do.  Gotti understands the game.”

Aside from the trap friendly and gangsta style Southern Hip-Hop that Drumma has been known to make, Drumma explained that there is another side to Memphis – a budding arts and entertainment scene that welcomes skateboarding, art, dance and other forms of expression like trap/EDM DJs.

“Theres a whole another world to Memphis, you see the skateboarding. You see Lil’ Wayne dipped in here, yesterday he was at the game, and we were hollerin’ at him, asking him if there were skate parks out here and we were just putting him on points of the city that just aren’t really known,” Drumma Boy told AllHipHop.

“There’s different parts of the city that aren’t really known and people mostly think its like ‘First 48,’ and the negative side, the hard violence side. It’s close to murder capital, but.thats one thing the Grizzlies, me and Yo Gotti and so many of the different rappers that’s from the city are doing to better the city. We’re positively giving back and showing a different side city,” he said.

“There’s player style events with artistic paintings being crafted during parties, and it’s just a whole eclectic side that people don’t know about. I think the whole world has always known about our music talents, but there’s a whole other side like choreographers, videographers, the arts and crafts world, on the reality show side of things, the film side of things too.  Judge Mathis is doing a reality TV show on BET. The dance side is the biggest side of things that people don’t know about,’Memphis jookin.’  So the city is really growing and there’s a lot of things that are coming into perspective,” Drumma concluded.

The cast includes rappers turned thespians Treach and Method Man with the former likening the new series to two of televisions greatest shows of all time in an interview with AllHipHop:

“It’s like the Supreme Team in the 80′s. It’s a series. It’s not just a film or a short. It’s a series they are doing that is called called South Side. Taheim called me up to be one of the top knotch drug dealers in the South side. It’s a mix between Sopranos and The Wire but it’s in 80s and it’s Hip Hop. It’s Kangols, and FILA suits and gazelles.”

The series’ centerpiece is a drug organization which accumulated over $200,000 in drug sales per day and its subsequent rise and fall. However, Bryan designed the series to provide more than a commentary on the drug trade in the 80′s:

“South Side series is special for Queens because South Side Jamaica is a place every city has, but for us we call it home. For years Queens was always looked at as an understatement, while Brooklyn was considered as the voice of NY. Though in all actually Queens is and has always been a house hold name that birthed many influential people from different walks of life, whether entertaining or the underground world. Like Russell Simmons, Run DMC, LL, Nas, Mobb Deep, Juice Crew, Large Professor, Tennis great John Mcenroe, Former 1st lady Nancy Reagan, Donald Trump, Tribe called Quest, the list can go on and on. So stay tuned for the untold story in South Side.”

There is no release date for the series.

Havoc might not be a household name, but that doesn’t negate the fact that he makes beats that are on par with, or even better than, material from producers who are.

10). “The Future” by Diddy:  “The Future” doesn’t sound like a beat its producer would typically make.  It’s unrelenting and makes for a very unusual almost techno/pop vibe.  Diddy’s delivery of the words from Pharoahe Monch’s pen is unique on this song too.  It pushes both people out of their comfort zone, and yet works well with the experimental sounds of Diddy’s Press Play.

9). “Shoot ‘Em Up” by Nas: For the most part Nastradamus was a bust, but there’s still definitely something to be said for Havoc’s ability to take “Carol of the Bells” and make a beat out of it with Nas delivering the vivid and violent lyrics atop of it that he does here.

8). “Don’t Need Your Love” by The Game: Havoc can definitely make moody beats, and he gave the Dr. Dre protege one for “Don’t Need Your Love” and The Game takes full advantage.  From rapping about being left in a foster home to getting passed over for a record deal, a lot of ground is covered.  It’s a good emotional song on a gangsta rap album and that is a rarity.

7). “Untitled” by Eminem: Recovery was a helluva comeback album for Eminem.  But after 16 tracks filled with mostly mature and deep writing, Em ended by just rhyming for the sport of it. Eminem seemingly took a cue from his B Rabbit character and closed out the show spitting over a Havoc instrumental.  Clearly, it worked out really well for both of them.

6). “Welcome 2 Hell” by Bad Meets Evil: Considering how powerful Recovery ended, why not start the next project the same way and add another Detroit rapper with outstanding lyrical abilities and flows for days?  The back-and-forth between Eminem and Royce Da 5’9” is masterfully executed here over Havoc’s beat.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  Just make it better.

5). “Beef” by The Notorious B.I.G. feat. Mobb Deep: One of the few redeeming qualities of Biggie’s Duets: The Final Chapter album is Havoc’s take on the King of New York’s “What’s Beef?”  Unlike many of the then-contemporary artists who never actually worked with Big that appear on Duets, it is very easy to tell that Havoc did.  The beat sounds like something Biggie would of rapped on (without sounding dated) and Havoc and Prodigy rhyme with that same tough East Coast vibe of the mid-90s era rap scene.

4). “The Promise” by Foxy Brown feat. Havoc: They both had to deliver.  Havoc needed to prove he could stand on his own two without Prodigy and Foxy needed to separate herself from Lil Kim comparisons.  Given the content and quality of the song, it’s safe to say that they both succeeded.

3). “Usual Suspect” by Big Noyd: Over a gritty snapping track that almost guarantees listeners will be head-bobbing, Mobb Deep-affiliate Big Noyd goes in on this beat with solid rhymes and delivery.  And even though Noyd never quite blew up in his own right, this 1996 song proves that The Infamous duo had a knack for spotting talent in addition to crafting beats and rhymes of their own.

2). “Why” by Jadakiss feat. Anthony Hamilton: Havoc’s use of xylophones on this song mesh perfectly with Anthony Hamilton’s soulful delivery and Kiss’ introspective rap.  The song was such a hit that it even spawned a remix (not produced by Havoc) which had Common asking, “Why is Bush actin like he trying to get Osama?/Why don’t we impeach him and elect Obama?”  And this was in 2004!

1). “Last Day” by The Notorious B.I.G. feat. The Lox:  The amazing thing about this record is that the original beat for “Last Day” got lost.  Therefore, Havoc made this track on the spot with Puff watching over his shoulder.  After Mr. Combs gave it the thumbs up, Biggie approved too.  The resulting song is a Hip-Hop classic with some of New York’s finest behind the boards and on the mic.

James Workman’s Where The Lonely Kids Go When The Bell Rings explores Kanye West in his own words. Workman crafts a nice remainder of the journey of Kanye through past interviews, performances, and videos.

Workman posted the doc on the Kanye To The fan forum with the following statement:

Mt [sic] first intention was to make like a 10 minute video with Kanye quotes and such, but I had so much material so I decided to make it a tad longer. The closest I could get to a real documentary. (We really need one in all honesty).

My goal was to capture something from every solo album, and the video is basically chronological. Starting with CD and ending with MBDTF.

I entitled it Where The Lonely Kids Go When The Bell Rings (I know that’s not the actual line in Eyes Closed), because I feel like that sums up Kanye’s career – The outsider. The misunderstood genius.

This took me 5000 hours to make so please be kind…

“Dear Mama” – Tupac

We might as well get this song out of the way. Tupac’s “Dear Mama” set the bar and there won’t likely be a finer ode from mother to son.

“Hey Mama” – Kanye West

When Donda West died, we cried. Before her tragic passing, Kanye West had already honored his mother in song. Its awesome that she her this song before her death. Ye, we honor you as we play this for our mothers. Here is the touching 08 Grammy performance.

“Love My Momma” – Snoop Dogg

What does Snoop love more than that ganja? You guessed it, his momma!

“Spoke To My Momma” – Ace Hood

The struggle is real and most rappers just want to by their mother a new house and to repay them for all that they have done. Its never possible, but Ace Hood makes a compelling case in this touching, heart felt old to his mother.

“All That I Got” – Ghostface Killah

Few songs can make thugs cry, but Ghostface took it there on “All That I Got Is You,” a song honoring his mother and grandmother. With Mary J. Blige on the hook, this gem resonates with anybody that had a mother that fought and stubbled for their kids. Shout out to the Old Earths!

“Momma Can You Hear Me” – Talib Kweli

Talib Kweli is one prolific writer and his mother was the root of his greatness. He honors her on this underappreciated gem.

“Mom Praying” – Beanie Sigel ft. Scarface

We’ll never get that Mac and Brad album, but that’s OK. Beanie Sigel and Scarface hooked up for “Mom Praying.” Thugs like this still need that special prayer than only a mother can deliver. The last verse is priceless.

“Momma Love Me” – Jay-Z

This one one of Jay’s simplest songs yet one of those that we got to know the business man from the heart.

“You Only Get One” – Skillz

Skillz put out one of the best mothers dedication, with tears and all. Not enough people have heard this song, which was written after his mother passed away. Bless Skillz and his mother.

“Dance” – Nas

When Nas’ mother passed away, Hip-Hop hurt. He wrote this dedication to her and offers a glimpse into his life as well.

BONUS: “Guess Who” – Goodie Mob

When the Goodie Mob was whole, they convened to create this rugged, but beautifully touching song to their moms. The 90′s was a long time ago, but this one endures.

The proceeds from the event, which was held at The 40/40 Club in Manhattan, are being donated to the rap/sport’s mogul’s non-profit.

The latest rumor is a cray cray on where he is supposedly dissing…i don’t know. It just sounds weird. A new song has supposedly leaked to the public. A dude named Hudson Mohawke performed at the Free Form Festival last night. When he played he reportedly leaked a teeny snippet of a song from Kanye West with an interesting lyric. Kanye reportedly said “There’s leaders and there’s followers but I’d rather be a d*ck than a swallower.” Why does that line just not sound right to me? Some, like Pitchfork, are already calling it classic Kanye. Maybe I am not hipster enough.
