Im trying to be a homer and say I want to see the Spurs crush the Hornets in 5, but I want to see as much Parker vs Paul as possible. SA still has nights where their offense doesnt show, so I think New Orleans will probably win two before being bounced in 6. That being said, Im not gonna get cocky cause this is gonna be a great series.

Spurs in 6 and the only reason why its going to 6 is cause Hornets got homecourt. Inexperience will show up in this series!

Tough series to call... I think it'll go 7 though. Everyone's favoring the Spurs but the Hornets just steamrolled Dallas, and were a lot better in the regular season... and you know, the Spurs didn't look this good all year, now they play Phoenix and they look great, but they always beat up on them, so maybe that was just a favorable matchup. I think Chandler can do a much better job on Duncan than Shaq could. Ultimately though, the Spurs are such a smart team defensively, Popovich is the best in the business... I think they probably find a way to solve N.O. Spurs in 7.

And yet, they split the season series with the Hornets as well as having the same regular season record. hmmm. What does that tell you?

U right, but one thing stuck out, SA beat us by an avg. of 10.5 pts, while We beat them by an avg. of 24.5 pts, so who played who better???
    Hornets in 6-CP3 smells championship...

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

You realize the Suns did the same thing in SA just before the playoffs, right? You should know by now that once Pop feels the game is out of reach, he'll take all the starters out early in the 4th even if a comeback is still possible, thus allowing opponents to do as they please while his starters rest. See Game 3 against Phoenix. Look at who's starters were on the floor and who's wasnt.

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

Hornets gonna win this series.  I'm glad they get to face the Spurs though cause damn that Phoenix series was just trash.  Especially on the Suns on D.

The Hornets play stiffling defense and Tony Parker will NOT be shittin' all over CP3 like he did Nash and the Suns.  People will be surprised at how well the Hornets defend SA in this series.  That pick and roll with Duncan and Parker is not gonna be as effective on Tyson and Paul.  Trust me niggas.

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

rofl@people saying parker is gonna shit on cp3...you kids clearly have been watching parker shit on nash for to long, and somehow think that every pg actually plays horrible defense the way he does...tony parker will not be dropping 40 on chris paul...chris paul is an animal on defense...this series i'm predicting is gonna be great...probably go 7..and even though everything i know of basketball tell's me that the spurs are going to win...i'm still going with the hornets...they have impressed me this entire season...when they have to step it up on defense they step it up...when they need offense they either go with west,or go to paul...pargo has been stepping up huge..stojakovic stroke is ridiculous...and JULIAN WRIGHT...he will be the key...because he is beasting right now,and will imo make the difference, because the spurs know how to key in on your strengths ,and take them away...so i think pargo, and wright have to come up big...if they do..i see them actually taking this in 7....which is me really going out on a limb..because the spurs are just a GREAT team...but fuck it...

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

It's gonna be a great series simply because of the PG matchup. I'm interested to see how Parker plays against Paul, whether he goes off like he did against Nash and whoever else Phoenix thru at him.

I'm gonna take Spurs in 6.

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

phoenix and dallas have been the spurs biggest problem in the last few playoffs. they took themselves out by making questionable trades, though I thought Shaq trade was a little less desperate.

based on the last few years all the hurdles should be cleared. now we come to the hornets. paul will get his first true test. parker/paul will be a slug fest. it should be a fun series, I'm going with the Spurs in 5 games. a 6th game wouldnt shock me though.

even though experience didnt play a factor against dallas, you have to figure it will at some point. though paul is one of those rare talents that defy conventional thinking

hornets front line is something special but they are no match for playoff timmy

give the edge to the Spurs on coaching and bench...

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

The key matchup in this series will be the duncan-chandler matchup. I think Chandler is a beast. Moves his feet and has hops . T-dizzle will have to work much harder to score. We will truly see if experience is overrated in this series. Also good coaching will definately come into play. I think Byron Scott is underrated as Pops coaching skill is well documented. "The shit is chess not checkers". That will be the theme of this series.

Re: Spurs vs. Hornets Prediction thread

To me this is essentially the NBA Finals.

I got the Spurs winning in 6...

The Hornets are just not ready.  Chandler can't hold Duncan...if I was Byron Scott I would put David West on Duncan and have Chandler come over with the help defense.  West is strong enough to keep Duncan from getting great post position.  And Chandler can come over with the height and length to force Timmy to pass out of the double.

But really its going to come down to CP3 vs. Frenchie.  Tony Parker is going to WORK CP3 and I think CP3 is MVP.  But Parker is just a totally different player in the playoffs.  Parker kills you coming off those screens and attacking the rim with the layups and floaters.

The Hornets need to find a way to force the Spurs to be a jump shooting team.  The problem with that is the Spurs have Finley, Barry, Bowen, Ginobili who can knock down jumpers.
