College grads have greater gains in wealth than non-grads, it has nothing to do with intelligence.

No one needs a college to become intelligent, I went to college because I wanted to make more money.

And the only courses offered in college that do benefit intelligence are philosophy, which will make you zero dollars.

Realize that this was an issue in the 2004 campaign and peopel were saying hte same thing in relation to voters for kerry and gwb. Yet GWB still won, so even if this is true doesn't help obama and given democrats have been charged with elitism and the fact thatt they are out of touch with "hardworking americans", harping on this fact definitely wont bring the need voters over to the democrat side that they desperate need and given this is a contest between two democrats and the lines are still draw the last people you need to be insulting are the core base of any democratic nominee, democrat voters. Only stupid people don't learn from their mistakes.

Well this goes back to what I just said. How is it intelligent for "hardworking Americans' to vote againts imo their best interest if they are instead voting off emotions?

Perception of the media is dictating to them that Obama is an elitist when in fact the man just paid of his college loans and has been a hardworking individual to achieve his goals. How is it intelligent to let the biggest decisition in politics be dictated by the media and one's emotions rather than doing research and educating ones self on the actual policies that would be in their best interest?

I don't think I'm making up a theory at all. I'm engaging people in a dialogue to consider this because I am constantly hearing these national polls that Obama is winning the "Educated Vote" and Hillary is getting the working class non college educated votes

A lot of people are correct in saying that college doesn't make you smart, but I think one thing that college does to people is open them up to different ideas. These ideas don't make you smarter, but they do create a perspective that may be different than that of the common non-college educated "blue collar" worker.

This country (thanks to the media and the PR machines) has turned these last few elections into the "elitist" candidate vs. the "one you can have a beer with" candidate. It's like a bad movie replaying itself every four years. Even the dumbest of college graduates think they're smarter than a blue collar worker, so they naturally won't vote for the "one you can have a beer with" option.

In the end, all the patterns go to hell because very few people are open to listen to "the other" candidate. If you're a republican or democrat, you most likely lean towards your respective candidate and that's that.

That's why I said the college kids I know as I am college student.

It does add on the conversation when he made a claim that non-college educated people are uninformed voters.

And I doubt you or the college students you know are as informed about the issues as much as I would prefer and feel comfortable with.
