Michael Jackson is a half-century old. Think about it. That's a long time to be moonwalking this Earth, considering MJ began performing as a little kid. Regardless of what's occurred on the sidelines of Michael Jackson's career, he is still that dude whose style is consistently emulated.

From the voice to the clothing to the advanced dance moves, Michael Jackson had that star quality from the moment he rocked the Ed Sullivan Show with his brothers. Since then, his global following is nothing short of a cultural phenomenon.

 maybe a red leather jacket that is still in videos today

I was always a bigger Prince fan, myself. Mike was an entertainer, yeah. But Prince made them songs that the freaky girls liked to get nasty to. I remember having tickets to see The Jackson's, and not wanting to go. But I've tried to sneak into three different Prince concerts, just because the ONE Prince concert I did see was the greatest thing ever.
