thats a good interview. Rage was indeed hiphop though. they just didnt make hip hop albums. instead they included some hip hop songs on their albums that were rock albums. the new rap/rock mashup stuff (little wayne jay Z etc) really isnt original or that tight. it sounds forced actually compared to lets say when onyx did it in the 90's here and there (BTW, Onyx is about to do that style again but more songs and a big label push). others have done it better than these new cats too I just cant recal all of them right now.

You know...that's my main problem with Hip Hop and its artists. How do you expect to go far when you're already taking shots at established artists like Lil' Wayne. Some of his music may be garbage, but Wayne is established and could be a great asset to Wordsmith's career. Ask some of these other dope but unsigned lyricists...sometimes it ain't about your skills, its about who you know and who could do you a favor. All it takes is one favor. But rappers don't think like that. That's why they're starving today.

As far as Nas, I can believe it. Nas has become a biter of sorts lately. I've actually lost all respect for Nas since his Nigger album, which was pure controversy and no skill. But he may redeem himself with the Distant Relatives project with Damian Marley.

Back to the point about Nas being a biter...he straight swallowed NYOil's song "Wigger, Wigger" and created his bullshit "Be A Nigger Too" song. So it wouldn't surprise me that he stole the concept of Wordsmith's song (though I never heard his version). Truth is, you got a bunch of unsigned rappers bringing HEAT and often, the rappers on top feed off them.

Give me a break man. He wasnt taking a shot a diss shot at Lil Wayne, or anything. Wasnt attacking his rap skills. He said his rock stuff that he's trying to create was garbage, but wayne's an established artist so he deserves the right to do it.

Nothing wrong with saying, hey Wayne has been doing his thing for so long and been on top of his game for so long, i dont mine him doing rock music, but the stuff he did create was really bad.

If you cant agree with that statement then clearly your blinded by your love for wayne. B/c that rock stuff he created is insulting to people who have spent thier whole lives mastering the guitar and making rock music. Just like when hip hop fans went in on J Pheonix for trying to do rap.

Wordsmith is one of the few artists that take the time to go and brush up on some new words to put in his rap... Because I feel that a rapper is nothing more then a first class English student, because it all about how you put your word together...
