I don't agree with this statement:

After reading all of the comments I have decided to make an appearance Shout outs to Hoodgrown and King High Pimpin. Everytime he says something that makes me mad he comes back with something that sounds sensible.

1) Polows an ass. I dont know who raised him or what environment he was brought up in but you cant generalize all black women or even the whole black race.

2) Chris Rock said years ago that when you come out of jail you get parties thrown in your honor but when you graduate from college nobody cares. Its sad but its true. My uncle got out of jail in April and we had a family dinner. We didnt have a blowout because he didnt deserve it. It was like we love you and we are glad to see you home but you would have been home if you hadnt did what you did to get locked up in the first place.

3) I feel like I am a strong black women. I have my own place, I work, i go to school,and I take care of my kids. But in the same token I love my man and will do anything for him. I dont care about how much money he makes because whatever money he makes goes to our family and ways to make our life better. I am going to school for Law. He works at walmart. I would never leave him because he is one of the good ones. And I would do anything to make him happy cause he makes me happy!

Oh and I dont know about the comment about most black women not having female friends because mostly all the women that I know, friends and family, have friends that they have known all of their lives. And I guess that has to do with how I was raised. My grandmother told me that a good friend was always worth having. I am twenty two years old and I have friends to this day that I met in Kindergarten. Any friends that I've lost it wasnt because of hating and backstabbing its for normal reasons like they moved away or something. And facebook.com is a great way of reconnecting with friends that you lost in those types of situations. Shameless plug for facebook I know but I love that website!
Anyway. It maybe true what you are saying about the girls that get by on their looks and have no personality, but the same can be said about some men that do the same. Get by on their looks, or their money, or how good they are in bed and theres nothing more to them than that. Thats why you have to weed through all the bad ones. No matter the race because it can be said about any race. There are beautiful white, asian, and latino women and men whom if you dont bring your A game and A wallet you wont be leaving the club with them.

I never said all black women are like that but the majority of the ones I've seen were the way I described..I've traveled all over because I was in the Army for 7 years and met different women from around my duty stations and women that were in the military stationed there with me..It's just what i've seen on a broader level..I'll tell you this much though I won't marry a white girl but it don't have anything to do with the color of their skin..They can't relate to black men when we are feeling down about a job or whatever else the way a black woman can but the thing is most black women ain't even doing that nowadays. My suggesting to you and all the men out there with a problem with the strenghts of those black women that have held it down to get some where with their life and now they don't feel the need to put up with bs just to have a man in their lives, is to grow up. I mean, put don't the weed squares, the guns, the rap video images, pull up your pants, and enhance your mind and vocabulary. Travel, get out of the hood and see, eat, and experience life outside of your ghetto. I mean this in no disrespect to the hood as I am a product and I have much respect for those that use the streets to build them into productive individual rather than become idoits with excuses.

But since we're coming from the same angle... let's look a little deeper than the shell.

See, I noticed that most (not all.. but most) of the women who you described in your various post didn't come from homes with active parents. Their home life was either:

a) no dad in the house. Mom working crazy hours to make ends meet so she's not there as much as she'd like to be.
b) dad in the house but not really THERE (feel me).
c) dad there but very abusive to either mom and or her

In these instances... since there was nothing home for them they turn to the streets to get that "love". Even once grown and successful.. a lot of times the behaviour is still the same.

Everyday I let my girls know how beautiful they are and let them know they're loved so that they don't have to go looking for that shit elsewhere from cats who'll say and do whatever to get some ass.

Most of the females I've seen raised on home with both parents there and actively raising their children... things are different. Instead of just hanging out on the corners or at a friends house they're actively persuing after school activities etc. People from this kind of environment seem "more grounded".

That's not just with women, but dudes as well.

and truth be told... my lady is latina. Some may find it hypercritical that I'm feverishly defending my sisters while the mother of my children is spanish but I don't see that as an issue.

I've dated more than a few strong sisters who would have made great wifey material but when I was out there doing my thing... I didn't realize what I had.

When I matured from a "boy" (mentally) to a "man" it just so happens that who I was with when I made the transition was dominican.

But if you see my oldest daughter.. she looks black. Noone is going to think she's mixed with anything plus when you consider moms, aunts, grandmas etc.... they're all black... and someone has to stick up for the sisters that are putting it down.

Hello I just want to make a comment to GawbaBwoy770 and Deadshot. I understand we all have our opinion but GawgaBwoy you can tell the whole kid story is about you and all I have to say is strap up and you would not have had to worry about if its your kid are not. Which is one thing about white men (the keep it covered) no arguing fussing fighting just come prepared. Polow Da Don say back women like to ask questions and he is saying that because I am sure he was probably into a bunch of things that he shouldnt have been into and that is why he wants white. No questions no answer. Really that interview was embarrassing because he sounded so ignorant. Yes go to school I understand that but it sounds like he hasnt had a bit of education. Not only that your mother molded you and you pretty much told her that a white women is better than she is. You would disgust me if you were my son. I wouldnt even claim you to my friends. Black women we do question but it only makes since and its because were smart. Deadshot you said for black women to get you back, why? One thing I have learned is there are alot of men in the world and right now they are loving black women. One thing white men are taught is to work and take care of there families no matter what (Some black men have to give you your props, but most feel like there tricking to help a women out) White men are taught to invest open businesses and work hard to provide for there families with a home and insurance etc. So I would say ladies dont limit yourself. White men are seeing what they have been missing and I say give it to them. They are attracted to the aggressiveness of black women and they support you. You also have a better chance of finding one with some real money. Now dont get me wrong I would rather have love than money and I date a black man and I love my black men. At the same time I hate hearing that its a shortage of men because I am black, well no not for me and fortunately I am able to choose any race that I want to be with. Right now I get tired of black men living off of a black womens back and as soon as he gets a few $$$$ he feels he is to good to be with her. Trust me those same white girls are playing you all along. I hang around plenty of them and see how they work. Even though GawbaBwoy I understand your concerns and Deadshot I don, you both are entitled to your opinion and I appreciate your comments

No matter what your race or gender is, it's YOUR responsibility to be a good judge of character. Pick and choose better mates and you won't have to put down/disrespect a particular race/gender. To all the black men and women out there, WE ARE NOT idiots by any means but WE NEED TO MAKE BETTER CHOICES PERIOD. Better choices about how to live our lives and who to spend them with.

If you are a young black man who has had dealings with black women whom YOU have had issues with then seek a more suitable mate, but don't try to make out ALL black women to be the same. And if you are a young black female who has had difficulties in relationships please note that ALL black men are NOT alike.

MAYBE THE PROBLEM IS THAT BOTH GENDERS CAN BE BAD JUDGES OF CHARACTER AT TIMES. IF YOU HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE OPPOSITTE SEX, MAYBE "YOU" SHOULD CHANGE "YOUR" SELECTION PROCESS.

I'm an educated black Female from the hood. I have a doctorate's degree and all of my girlfriends finished college and most went on for post graduate degrees. Now black women are out pacing their male counter parts educationally and economically by ridiculous numbers. Most of my girlfriends want nothing more than a good husband, so they can pop out babies and raise a beautiful black family. You know the whole cosby dream. None of them would have a problem taking a woman's place in a marriage/relationship. The problem is...... we can't be submissive to a DUMB ASS N&&&A!!! How I look being submissive to a man who can't move out of his momma's house and got 3 kids by 3 different women? My law school was a HBCU and there were more hispanic males than black males.
So polow can date the white women, after all he's not looking for a partner to make him a better person and vice versa. He's looking for a servant. And the "good" black women out there will simply start dating white women. So I guess F*&k the black race altogether............

I give it to dude. When I first heard of him (besides Jim Crow) with that "Drop Sum D's" I though he was just a dude that just played around with sample and just got a lucky chop that turned out to be a hit. Almost ayear later I have to say dude know what he'd doing. As far as the interview I feel him on some things. Others things might have been misunderstand or damn sure didn't come out right (black "idiots, whites "geniuses"?).
I think I know what he was trying to say meaning most whites know what is important life while many of our brothers think that getting the best out of life is making enough dough for a couple pair of kicks, a chain, a couple fitted and a few ounces while staying w/ moms and I can feel that. First of all, whatever source he's referring to about the natural order of things is completely off base. It's biologically, spiritually and historically known that all life flows from women. Again, look it up. Christianity and any other religion that calls for the repression of women have all been used to repress humanity as a whole, beginning with women. The oppression of women is the blueprint for all other forms of oppression, which all find their root in "feminizing" the men of particular marginalized communities in an effort to take their power away. Why is this? Well, women and thus, female energy, are powerful. What this sad excuse for a human being does not understand is that if we relied on women who were hell-bent on being "submissive" or "subservient" to get us through slavery, we'd all be dead. Thats crazy, I always got respect for people who aint afraid to say whats on their mind. How else will people know you if you dont speak was actually on your mind, and not just what your suppose to say. The line he said about black women and white women was real controverial. But theres a lot of truth in it. Most Black dudes dont take that as an excuse to start snuffing sisters thought, but i know its the truth for a lot of these dudes. So most dudes who agree with him probably wont say it out of fear. I agree with him to an extent (theres some validity to his statement), but like I said I wouldnt use that as an excuse to be some I only date white girls move. I would much rather focus on fixing the problem. Educating or just plain conversing with some sistas about that situation. The only way the black man and the black woman is going to get past the Willie Lynch divide, and get back to loving each other the way they did when they were kings and queens is through dialogue. Communication is one of the biggest gifts to mankind and also one of the most underated. Communication isnt even a mandatory course in these school systems. Why the hell not?

But anyway, like I said a lot of stuff Polow dude said had validity. Yea he's a bit controversial. And probably going to fall down the same ego path that Louie Vatton Don (Kanye) went down. But it is what it is, I respect the dudes that aint afraid to say whats what, instead of always being political. And always falling in line, pretending like they got nothing but love for everything and everybody. God made us with passion, love, and all the other positive traits. But he also made us with anger, sadness, etc as well. So to be real, you must sometimes express both sides of the fence not just one.

I like his music but not his theory on the difference between black and white women. White women were never ever taught to serve and honor their men. They were taught to get what ever they can by any means nesscessary. Good article and as a black man, I kinda understand how it seems to him BUT that's looking at it from a very shallow space. That's a black woman. Me personally, I have dated women of all races, shades and greeds but I have traditionally stayed away from white women. I could never take a white woman serious enough to date them. They were just too easy and couldn't possibly understand my struggle as a black man. BLACK women are the strongest creatures on this earth. They have endured more pain than anyone and if they trust you, they will do anything for you. The key here is trust. Alot of us are fucking up. We sometimes expect our women to carry our lazy asses. That's what we love about white women. They don't say anything. They just let you use and abuse them. That says alot about the mentality of some black men. See, I can only speak for myself but I value my partner in every way. Her opinion matters so much to me. She keeps me sharp and on my game when I think my game is tight. The problem with black men as a whole is we are too sensitive. We can't stand constructive criticism from our women SO we go to white women thinking that's the answer. To each his own but I don't want a subordinate. I don't want someone who walks behind me. I know a man is the head of the household but I need a women who will walk with me, not behind me. 2 heads are much better than one especially when the communication is there. As a black man in America, we wouldn't have made it this far without our strong black women pushing us to be better and stronger than ever despite limitless obstacles facing us everyday. The problem with us Black men will always be the same. We want it to come fast and easy with minimal to no work at all and that's right up a white woman's alley. Think about it like this, after all the fucking and sucking then what? It depends on what you want out of relationship. If you wanna play around and enjoy yourself like Polo is doing, I don't knock it but if you want a partner that's gonna ride or die for you in your darkest hour, stay with a sister. Real talk. Excuse the rant I usually don't reply to topics like this due to the divide and conquer syndrome prevalent amongst us but we got rebuild and I would be doing a disservice if I let the females of our race continue to view all black men as weak and sorry (false). Here is an example, Lindsay Lohan should have wanted to commmit suicide with all the horrible press she has been getting all year, every week some magazine had a picture of this girl somewhere drunk, high, and coming out of some hotel with a different guy with yesterday clothes on! Everytime I see her I think she just finished f*cking, and that is so stank! But instead of them letting her fall and have folks generalizing that all them hoe$ do that, and there are plenty of names for them to call, what did they do? In case you don't know, she is #1 on maxima top 100 for 2007! How the he!!?!!! See that's some uplifting sh!t!! Brittney probably win it next year!! See brothers don't rep for the sistas like that! Just another ignorant black man twisting phrases for his personal gain. His comment about the black women and white women really dumb on his part. He want to talk about order, lets talk then. First of all white women are just naturally weaker than black women. White men take care of their women in all aspects, so of course they are going to yield to them because they rightfully take their place of head of their household. Many black men are not there for their women, leaving them to become stronger vessels in the household. Black women clearly = strength. More importantly, on as spiritual level women submit to their men when they see God in them doing what the head does and thats seeing the good in their family like eyes, hearing the word of God like ears, and declaring the word of God and speaking goodness to his family like the mouth. Thats when a woman will gladly submit and let you take your place. Get it right Polow, don't choose a woman because they let you do what you want, but because she is a virtuous woman who backs her righteous man.

Polow is entitled to his own opinion although I do not agree. I'm a 25 yr old black woman who recently graduated from college. I beieve that SOME men want to control their women. There is a difference in being the head of the household and thinking because you are a man you have the right to disrespect, demand, and place orders. I'm a black woman that's not going to tolerate that but there are some black women & white women that take that. I don't want to speak for all black women and white women or men. Polow should not make bold statements like that because for one he doesnt know how anyone was brought up. It's easy to settle for one side when you get your way and no questions are asked. To me it's a copout, he rather go with the trophy token white girl who sits around and let him come and go as he pleases then a strong black sista that dont take no shit and will have your back no matter what. Good article and as a black man, I kinda understand how it seems to him BUT that's looking at it from a very shallow space. First of all, that was a bold statement to make having being raised by a BLACK mother. How can he look her in the eyes after that? Even if he felt that way, he should've kept that comment to himself. Why would he want to hurt his sisters? I have never heard a WHITE entertainer talk this way about white women. For the record, let me say that I love women of all backgrounds. Everyone has beauty in some way BUT there's nothing like a BLACK woman. I know because I've been there. I DO respect his opinion but he couldn't be more wrong about his feelings toward black women. When BLACK men were getting our asses killed or thrown in jail by white men may I ask who was holding down the fort? BLACK women! That's why they ask more questions. They weren't raised to question, they were raised to provide for their family just as we were and you can't be a provider if you don't ask questions. Too often we as BLACK men get the money then we marry WHITE women who wouldn't have given us the time of day if we were broke. Is that what you want BLACK men? Do you want someone to catch you when you've already made it or do you want someone who went through that struggle with you, helped you, cheered you on when no body believed in you. For every Magic Johnson, there's a Cookie. For every Martin Luther King, there's a Coretta. That's the essence of a black woman. Me personally, I have dated women of all races, shades and greeds but I have traditionally stayed away from white women on a serious level. I could never take a white woman serious enough to date them. They were just too easy and couldn't possibly understand my struggle as a black man. I looked at them as toys. BLACK women are the strongest creatures on this earth. They have endured more pain than anyone and if they trust you, they will do anything for you. The key here is TRUST. Alot of us are messing up. We sometimes expect our women to carry our lazy asses. That's what we love about white women. They don't say anything. They just let you use and abuse them. That says alot about the mentality of some black men. See, I can only speak for myself but I value my partner in every way. Her opinion matters so much to me. She keeps me sharp and on my game when I think my game is tight. The problem with black men as a whole is we are too sensitive. We can't stand constructive criticism from our women SO we go to white women thinking that's the answer. To each his own but I don't want a subordinate. I don't want someone who walks behind me. I know a man is the head of the household but I need a women who will walk with me, not behind me. 2 heads are much better than one especially when the communication is there. As a black man in America, we wouldn't have made it this far without our strong black women pushing us to be better and stronger than ever despite limitless obstacles facing us everyday. The problem with us Black men will always be the same. We want it to come fast and easy with minimal to no work at all and that's right up a white woman's alley. Think about it like this, after all the fucking and sucking then what? It depends on what you want out of relationship. If you wanna play around and enjoy yourself like Polo is doing, I don't knock it but if you want a partner that's gonna ride or die for you in your darkest hour, stay with a sister. Real talk. Man...everybody is trippin'. He DID NOT say anything negative about black women. If anything he said sistas are not into showing weakness or being weak in nature. I love my black women....

I agree with a number of statements on here....

But the most important one is knowing the difference between being "submissive" and "weak"....

There truly is a difference. It does state in the Bible that Man should be the head of the household. That doesn't make a woman his "stomping" stone, or piece of sh*t. It means he should treat her as his Queen, as the woman of his home, and mother of his children. In essence, he is to treat her as a woman should be treated, for she is the PRESENT by which his home is able to prosper. However, that also means a woman should do right by her man....a good man should come home to a cooked meal, clean home, and nurtured kids. He should do all he can to provide and take care of her and his family, but the family has to give that love back.

I hate to say it, but the families and marriages I have seen MOST have been the ones where the husband and wife RESPECT one another, and 9.9/10, the wife has actually been SUBMISSIVE. NOT WEAK....but submissive.

So, Polo may catch flack for his statement, but his statement does bear a lot of weight, because black women have a tendency NOT to look at being submissive as being a good woman, but rather "weak". And it doesn't help our brothas aren't doing what they need to make their woman the stone by which their temple is started...

This definitely works both ways...

Honestly, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news but most of the men out there are looking for women with the full package of having a woman that's a dyme piece. I'm ur average chik. Very little to no make up and very well proportionate. Where were you when I was on the market?
I got what I wanted in my soulmate because I prayed for him. Most of us need to get back to being spiritually in touch because we've lost that. Polow makes some very valid points but what I won't stand for is him saying that, in laments terms, that white women take care of their men and they're more submissive. If a man takes care of his woman and gives her what she needs emotionally and physically then she'll give him her all, POINT BLANK. There's a miscommunication between both genders and that's all there is to it. Us women tend to ramble on and go off on a tangent when all we really need to do is tell a man straight out what it is we want and expect. Men have a hard time expressing their feelings aside from anger.

Read the Willie Lynch letters and you will understand fully why we are divided as people. In addition, we need to reevaluate ourselves figure out what went wrong in our lives. My parents are from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and made many mistakes that they've confessed to. It's up to us, Generation X,Y,& Z or whatever to change the cycle of what our parents didn't do. We're more openminded and are able to change the world but it's up to us if we're willing to do so.

Public Enemy made the white man fear the black man, where did that go? To me, it seems like we've lost that and thank goodness that PE has reassembled themselves to help us remember what we've forgotten. We need to once again redefine ourselves and regain what we've willingly given up. I love all people and if you know me, I don't judge period. I just see that my people are losing confidence in themselves and not realizing that we are the most copied, envied, and hated race out there in addition to our Latino, and Asian counterparts.
Let's get together and make some noise people. My sistahs, recognize that you are worth more than men put out there. Hold your head up cuz I'm one of the few to let you know how gorgeous and smart you are, no matter where you come from.

It seems to me that everytime a black man wants to justify why they are with a white woman they always have to go with the "they're submissive and respectful" bull crap. First off, I am a black woman from Atlanta (and not no small city close to Atlanta, right off Bankhead Hwy) and I am submissive, respectful and I make sure my man feels and is treated like a King. Now just because you all get with these little girls who give you a hard time doesn't mean you should believe every black woman is like that. I'm independently wealthy and I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I worked hard for what I have. I never knew my father and my mother abandoned me. I lived on the streets for a part of my youth and was raised as a ward of the state, but that did not stop me from achieving greater things. I put myself through college and my life turned out pretty good. When I went to college and stuff, the sisters made fun of me because I didn't have the nice gear or a whole lot of money. Other girls would associate with me because I was smart(4.0!), polite, charming, and other things. Now I love the sisters, but they didn't love me until the money, homes, and fancy cars came. In school, they were chasing the dealers and the rich white boys with money. The point I am trying to make is that women of other races are willing to take a chance on potential and not worry about materialistic things. The sisters they want the baller instantly and are not willing to be with the man while he is working to get to a certain point. A white chick will stay with a man while he is struggling and stay around when he makes it. If you don't have it right away, a sister won't even holla. I do believe there are some good sisters out their, but there are very few of them.

I can't debate online with posters who relate real life to Maury paternity test shows, when young black males monkey-dance after finding out that they aren't the fathers. Especially when there is no personal responsibility in having unprotected encounters that can possibly lead to Fatherhood.

What this clown of a rapper/producer/whatever failed to do was give a wise response in his interview. I am in a loving relationship with a black male and I easily take my place as the woman of the house and he is the head, the man. He will tell you today that he has a lovingly submissive girlfriend and has no complaints.

See we are really getting dogged on by our own men because they've been dissappointed in their own past relationships with black women. But when black women have been dogged out and left by black men, cheated on, left to raise the kids, given STDs, and physically/emotionally abused - we don't televise the struggle and diss black men by making nasty ignorant blanket statements about them.

I have a best friend who actually GRADUATED from Morehouse who is about to marry a gorgeous black woman who told me that "other" women who only date black men men are only whores ---because classy white women actually date and marry classy white men who are of the same socioeconomic class as them.

When you look around, who do you see heading a (majority- bc i respect single dads and dads who stay with their families)black family and raising their sons? Maybe the independent attitude came from women who aren't getting $10 a month (or year in most cases) to help feeds their kids. I know about 4 women RIGHT NOW who are single mothers who work full time jobs and have to pay for daycare while they attend night school. So, I think this clown of a producer/rapper/whatever has been emasculated by a black woman to the point where he is looking for a servant instead of a PARTNER. This culture of glorifying other women and putting your own women down is stems from self-hate and insecurity. And I'm sick of black women taking the blame. So before this clown opens his mouth again, I'm choosing to disregard anything else that he says because he isn't referring to me.

At the end of the day women control how the world is populated..There's birth control, abortions(which I don't agree with), and female condoms..So, at the end of the day y'all can make a guy wait until marriage or you have all these ways of preventing bringing kids into this world if you feel the need to have sex before marriage...We have condoms as well but some of our women have deceived us by poking holes in condoms just to get pregnant on purpose..They've stopped taking their birth control pills or shots without telling us..It's a lot of guys that were tricked into being fathers and when it's done that way you will have a problem with the father being around and lets not act like it don't happen or you don't know of one of these stories...We can't make y'all get an abortion but if you get pregnant just to keep a man it'll never work...Why? The fact is more white girls grew up with their dads and they saw their dads holding down the house and saw their mother support their father in whatever he was doing....on the other hand the lil black girl didnt see this...she saw mama doing everything for herself without a man so they feel like one is not really needed and a man cant tell them nothing. I feel you and your response but there are a couple things that must be addressed. For one Polow was wrong or just probably misunderstood by the readers when he seemed to be addressing black & white women as a whole BUT saying that, you must admit when you look at the young sistas out there today, many of them our not representing what black woman stand for (strength, love, beauty & SELF RESPECT). For every sistas you know like the 4 sistas you mentioned there are 2 sistas out there in the club worried what Re Re & Craig are doing or wooried about looking Melissa Ford & Vida Guerra up in the club in stead being at home with her kids. Yes there are still sistas out there that treat there man like a king but they seem to be a rare breed nowadays. The black man has the hardest job in the world while the Black woman has the most important job.
The black man must try to make it in a world that was built by him but not for him. He must deal with the BS of others while dealing with his own INSECURITIES (we all have them). We were programed to think the we can't succeed by society and sometimes by our own parents & elders. Even though we don't believe that sometimes we doubt ourselves and we need someone who can tell us that we can. Tell us and treat us like that king we are supposed to. When the world breaks us done only a woman like that can build us back even stronger than before. I know you know woman like that but you must admit they are very rare. When I was a kid, the women I see today up in the club were very rare also. I guess the roles just reversed.
As far as white women go, none of us who aren't white or weren't raised by a black woman don't know enough about them to speak on what kind of white women date black men. Matter of fact it is kind of an insult for any person to say that white only date succesful black men for money or out of curiosity. As black men we are the best looking male creatures on this God giving Earth. There shouldn't have to be any excuse on why a woman would love to mess with us.

(P.S. I felt what he said about brothers getting our priorities straight. He just said it the wrong way.)

I decided to leave a comment to Polo The Dim-Witted comments about "Black" people as a whole. First off I am a CHRISTIAN MARRIED BLACK WOMAN! I wanted to get that straight, so there wouldn't be any misconceptions of what part of the "black" population I make up. The first grievance I have with Dim-Witted is the fact that he decided to group everyone on earth of one particular ethnicity into a derogatory category and call it FACT! That issue only shows the ignorance and idiocy of Dim-Witted! It is very ironic because in part I do agree with Dim-Witted’s comments…I do believe that there are far too many black people today who aren’t putting GOD first in their lives. I believe if we address that root problem first, everything else will fall in line. What I don’t agree with is the fact that he states people should read their bibles and then we will realize that it is the “black woman’s” fault that the entire black race isn’t in sync. I read my bible frequently, first thing I know from it, is it isn’t my place to judge anyone! Secondly, the man is and/or should be the head of the household, which means he should be LEADING his family, not vice versa! It isn’t a woman’s job to lead the household and instead of blaming women for the problems our black society is undergoing, maybe we should face the fact, that if there were more GOD fearing black men who, like Dim-Witted, wasn’t looking for an excuse or crutch, there would be more confident, nurturing submissive black wives and mothers. In addition to that we also need to look at the word “SUBMISSION”: breaking down this word will show you what it actually means…Women need to SUB to a MISSION ! Sub meaning secondary or vice to a Mission meaning task or assignment! What I see as the problem is the fact that so many men (not just black men) have no task, assignment or guidance (GODance) in their lives…why should a woman submit to nothing….should we as black women allow any man, just because he is a man lead us astray? I don’t think so, I agree with the roles of a man and woman, but to broadly state that the inequities of all black men can be totally blamed on all black woman is not only foolish, its slandering. I will also say that I agree with his statement about black women shouldn’t be mad over his statement, quite honestly the white man shouldn’t be either! I realized that any woman, be it white or black, that would date Dim-Witted shouldn’t be hated, she should be pitied and prayed for frequently. Now as far as your Oprah comment, Oprah has no children and no husband, so in your opinion that makes her a bad role model? Fine, everyone is respectfully entitled to their stupidity! I’m just posing a question for you, ARE YOU A GOOD ROLE MODEL? Maybe you should listen to the lyrics of your raps…excuse me let me take that back…maybe you should discuss changing the lyrics of your raps with the person who actually writes them because to me, you’re sounding like a hypocrite! You’ve stated that you’ve come from this great family and I’m sure your mother and father are blessed to have been together so long and be so in love, but what about you! You’ve explained that your mother knows her role in her marriage and the dysfunctional black man is a product only of women who didn’t have a father figure for their child and/or wouldn’t allow him to lead them…you supposedly had both, but you appear to be the typical ass snatching, vulgar talking, producer-wanna-be-rapper! You’ve stated you’re so respected in the industry, but that’s like saying a bum is so respected by the pigeons! Who are these “industry” individuals that we should put them on a pedestal? You have to look at it like this way..Whether we like it or not it's some truth to what he said..I don't take it personal when women say all men are dogs..I sit down with them and ask questions pertaining to the guys they've dated and eventually we get on the same sheet of music..I don't like seeing black women putting down black men to white men or running to women bc of their bad choices in men..That's what really bothers me so I rather us sit down as a people and bring these issues to light than continue going down that path...I think the biggest problem with this whole blog is people are giving their opinions based off their surrounding but what if you've never left your state? I've lived in 4 states and visited a lot more..My opinion is based off everything I've seen and not just what happens in Ga..We are loosing our black women to white men and women nowadays and that shit really hurts as a black man to see that..The main excused they use is a brother's kept hurting me so I don't deal with y'all...If I kept dating the same type of women and kept getting cheated on i'd go back to the drawing board and rethink things but that's not what they are doing..They keep dating the same knuckleheads and just give up..

RANDOM THOUGHT!!!

imagine this people...(if I could only draw, it would be more powerful)

A white family sitting at the dinner table. Two little white kids (boy and girl), a white mother, and a white father. White father just smiling from ear to ear, happy that hes king on his thrown and able to provide for his family. Looking at the huge loaf of bread on the table (he has fork and knife in his hand). Little white boy in his own little world about to plunge a piece of his bread at his little sister with his spoon (he has so much bread he can afford to throw some away). The little girl asked her father if she can have another piece of bread. Daddy's little girl always gets what she wants. And finally mother is looking at the floor, completely shocked and awed by what she sees...

What she sees is roaches on the floor arguing over bread crumbs:

roach 1: roach, I been waiting here all this time for some of them white folks to drop one of these crumbs, you better move away from it homie. Dont start nothing wont be nothing.

roach 2: Oh its about to go down up in here. Just cause you got prettier antennas, you think you deserve the first bite of this here crumb.

roach 1: Dont hate on my antennas dog. You just mad, cause they always step on your kind first. Get your antennas up homie and you'll survive a little bit longer. But enough of all that, Imma have to bust yo ass up in here if you dont step away from this crumb.

roach 2: its all good I aint worrying about it. I'll just wait. Imma keep on praying to God to get prettier antennas and my own bread crumb. Eventually God gone feel sorry enough for me and give me a handout. I mean after all it aint like God got better stuff to do then sit around and wait for me to pray about materialistic simple shit.

roach 1: Yea true that. But lets fight anyway, cause Im still worked up from all this fuss. Plus we roaches, I mean aint that what we should be doing?

roach 2: Yea my roach, Imma roach for life, "ROACH LIFE!!" in this bitch. (With that said, roach 2 threw up some roach gang signs and punched roach 1 in the face, then stole the bread crumb)

roach 3: (Roach 3 didnt engage in any of the drama. As roach1 and roach2 were fighting, he just climbed up one of the table legs to get him a piece of the larger piece of bread).

narrator: (good luck to roach 3 as he tries to pry some of that bread out of the hands of those white folks. But his alternative, I guess, would be to engage in the fight between roach 1 and 2 and hes not into that.)

roach 4: (Just sat back and watched roach 1, 2, and 3 do there thing. He didnt feel that he should do either. So being indecisive and stressed because of it, he lifted one of his wings and pulled out a "L" and a bag of tree and did what he does best.)

Narrator: As all of this unfolded, white mother alerted the family to what was going on. She especially wanted the children to see. She wanted to make sure they knew how she never wanted them to turn out. She always made sure that the kids didnt watch the roaches with out her or white father's consent. They could never watch them after 8pm, and without her or white father being around of course to "interpret". White father didnt engage too much in what was going on on the floor with roach 1, 2, and definitely not 4. he was more concerned with watching as roach 3 was climbing the table leg coming near what he felt was his rightfully owned bread. So he busied himself with debate over rather he would give roach 3 an incentive/road block piece of bread to keep him busy or would he just squash him. Cause I mean after all, in white fathers eyes, he was just a roach...(to be continued)

I'll admit that I have a fairly limited frame of reference when it comes to mainstream hip hop. That is to say: I like some of it but not all of it, and I don't listen to it unless it's good. If I were to make a list of my favorite albums, "Madvillainy" by MF DOOM and Madlib, and "Midnight Marauders" by A Tribe Called Quest would be the only two that would make it onto the list.
No pop R&B song has ever inspired me to research the name of the beat/music producer before -- usually because a famous producer will have his name somewhere to make it obvious -- because it's really not very important in the grand scheme of things if you're just a listener. It's a good song, that's that. End of story.
But when I heard "Love in This Club" for the first time the other day, I was absolutely shocked. I wasn't surprised, because Usher is an exceptionally talented musician. So is Jeezy (to a much lesser extent, until now, but watch out). But this guy Polow Da Don is incredibly, fantastically creative, as I've come to discover after a couple of Google searches. and he's done a bunch of stuff before. . . and he's a humble, cool dude!
But this song was like a sucker punch to my ears in a positive sense when I heard it for the first time. I couldn't believe I was actually witnessing such a great thing. Unfortunately or fortunately, I live overseas, so I don't have access to all of the hype that accompanies the drop of tracks by accomplished artists like Usher, so I didn't see it coming. But I was with some friends, and we were all looking at each other in disbelief -- "What!?!?" I bought this on iTunes on a whim because it was the #1 purchased song. Who cares, 99 cents, lets see. . . and BAM!!! Right in the ears!!! We listened to it like 10 times in a row on repeat. I don't own a record player, but I want this track on vinyl too.
The beat is sparse and efficient, complementing Usher's honest, expressive, almost jazzy soul, and Jeezy's natural, down-to-earth, I-could-kick-your-ass-but-I'm-not-gonna thug tones. The sample Polow uses is almost like the Killers' "Read My Mind," but urbanized for any Hotlanta club (that it will be played at a great many times I'm sure).
My sixth sense sees aspiring vocalists wanting to be better singers after hearing this song. . . rappers wanting to be better rappers. . . wannabe producers eating brain-food trying to enhance their creativity. . . etc. . . For me, this song has upgraded my musical radar and made me wonder what I've missed in my previously narrow spectrum of previous musical tastes. Congratulations Polow da Don, Usher and Jeezy on your #1 single! You deserve it!
