Yeah, it was his time to retire. But he had 1 hell of a run. I know there are a ton of Hogan supporters out there who will say that Hoga was the Greatest of All-Time, but if you had put Flair in Hogans position in then 80's and 90's, there wouln't be an arguement. Almost every wrestler who had the biggest success within the past 15-20 years have all said that it was Flair who inspired them. That says a lot. Plus his influence outside of the ring speaks for it's self.

Ric Flair was one of the greats, he had the old school style in the ring with that good trash talk to piss his opponents off. And its not really surprising that hip-hop got some of its stuff from him, we wouldn't have people like Ghostface, Pastor Troy, and Paul Wall carrying championship belts in their videos. Flair is always gonna be better than Hogan to me because he could make you love him or hate him in the span of 10 minutes, It took Hogan 10 years to do that. He left this business in the way only as he could, as the highlight, b/c in 10 years, nobody will remember Wrestlemania XXIV for the Money In the Bank match, or the world championship matches, but for Ric's last match where he put it all out there against Shawn Michaels. Clearly a legend in the game of wrestling, and the influence of many in hip-hop.

My first true love was wrestling before hip hop. I'm 19, and i loved watching WCW and WWF fuck WWE, that shit is when wrestling died, i don't care who came out after that. My favorite was always Macho Man, i never really cared for Ric Flair, but I can say he was exciting to watch talk, not necessarily to wrestle, but he put in a lot of work, and definitely deserves the tribute he got.

I take it you haven't picked up that Ric Flair and the 4 Horsemen DVD. Nothing against those other factions, but the 4 Horsemen was more than a stable. They were more than a faction. They were incorporated. They were a machine. They were the top guys for NWA/WCW. I would take Flair and the Horsemen over any of those other groups on any given day.

Someone once said, "Our business is hurting people and business is doing good." The Horsemen put a hurting on so many people that it wasn't funny. Their "business" was very profitable and prosperous.

Stone Cold will forever be the GOAT to me. I didn't get a chance to see Flair back in the 80's but I've learned from the different DVD's the WWE has released and he deserves everything that he's getting. You can see how other wrestlers/groups were inspired by Flair/Horsemen. It would've been nice if Ole could've made Flair's farewell, but it was still great.

Shame that at his retirement party on WWE Raw, due to other commitments as well as obvious and legal reasons that the likes of Hogan, Sting, Benoit, etc weren't there to share it, as they played a significant part in his career and history as much as Flair did to theirs. They should have been there as much as HHH, Batista, Cena, Orton, etc
One of the few reasons I watched wrestling.

I don't give a fuck. Ric Flair is one of the g.o.a.t.s of wrestling. I'm from the south and grew up on wcw when it was super crunk. Flair was The dirtiest player in the game. When I was little I hated flair, especially after him and the horsemen broke sting's "leg". (don't front when y'all was kids yall thought it was real 2, and y'all was hurt about that shit.) But as I grew up I realized how trill ric was. U gotta beat the man, to be tha man. And the flair flop priceless.
