I think Banner handled it well. From interviewing him I know he put a lot into this project.

see i like banner and respect his opinion a lot of times, but the problem i have with him is he is like a nigga thats been to prison and just found knowledge. He has a lot of opinions but he acts like HIS opinion IS the TRUTH. I noticed changes in him as far as his look with the little shirts and he got a lil fade and hey thats cool if u wanna sell. I dont know why people are hating on Banner. He is as contradictory as 2Pac was - yes i said TUPAC. He's right; every man has different sides to him. Pac had songs like "Keep Your Head Up" and on the next track he's saying fuck bitches and hoes and all that shit. Its no different.

I can understand if you just dont like his music. Not everybody has the same taste. But dont expect him to come out w/ a politically charged album - maybe a track but not an entire ALBUM. He's a rapper, not a politician.

All I know is I havent actually BOUGHT an album in over two years and I went to Best Buy to pick this up.

And as a sidenote, this album had 21 or 22 tracks. I cant stand looking at a CD's tracklist and seeing 13-15 tracks w/ an intro & 2 interludes. It's like get enough material for a good, FULL album.

I would say that 9mm should've been left off the album tho. Its a weak song, beat, chorus all that. He should've had "So Special" instead.

Before I start my rant, I am not a David Banner fan. But how can you hate on an educated black man (Southern University Alum) who is out here grinding the way that Banner is?

Now, I agree with "brandonmogul." You cats today got the world twisted. Dude stands up for himself on some real grown man stuff, and he gets blasted as being sensitive and catching feelings. There are some people who create tracks soley for themselves and could care less if it sells. Some artist create a track only in accordance to which way the wind is blowing. I think that Banner did a mixture of that with his album. He took what was selling and created a story in his own words that talks about money, sex, drugs, and politics. He took the local news and did his own report - with a hip hop spin to it.

For those who want to compare this dudes album lyrically to Nas... that's not right. You can argue about the whole contradictory piece, but when did Banner say what kind of story he was telling? Some of yall have to stop letting stuff go over your head and grow up a little. But at the same time understand that art isn't always what you see in front of you. You have to dig a little deeper into the project to understand its worth.

I think Banners music is mediocre at best!!
I've only heard 2 songs I like from oldboy,
Caddilacs on 22's and like a pimp feat lil' Flip.
I think maybe if Banner got beats from Alchemist or Premo or maybe even Havoc from MobbDeep,
to compliment his lyrics that shit would be Fire!!
But thats my opinion,
I like to hear what the rapper is saying,
I can't really take those noisy ass beats with
unnecassary sounds and instruments!!
Its okay for maybe 1 or 2 songs, but definately not the whole album!!
If D. Banner used Up North/ Eastcoast beats,

i just started listening to david banner after some friends who like me feel only hip hop music with a purpose not just to create a dance to should be listened to. and after listening to his album i think that it is good music which is not easy to find these days trufully speaking. look at the facts wayne sold a mil in a week and that boy obviously has ADD cause the first verse never goes wit the secord or third. matter of fact his bars in the same verse be all over the place. now i may not like every song but i still give it 10/10 for the fact that its true to the art of hip hop and he puts passion into it not a crappy dance. I wouldn't buy a Banner album, but I think he's a cool dude. My wife bought it so I have heard it. Gotta say I wasn't impressed at all. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple nice cuts, but that about it. Another thing, I'm tired of people saying that you have to play the "yessir boss" role for these "massa" labels and fickle fans to make a dope album that appeals to the masses. Yall catz are seriously brainwashed and short on creativity. Most of the albums that are widely accepted as classics do not, have not followed that formula. What makes a classic, dope album is the artist's creativity, the song quality, and the cohesiveness and depth of the entire product. Yeah, you can make some club hits that will sell you some ring tones, but niggaz will forget that shit next week. It's not even so much the club joints......at least be creative with them. Nobody is making classic shit that transcends time anymore. I could have popped in 50 other niggaz cds and got the same feeling as I got from this one. Not hating ( so tired of that word ), just my opinion.
