I am a Army Veteran of Operation:Iraqi Freedom and I can tell u it's soldiers losing their minds of there everyday. It's not a place u want to wake up at. Hot as Hell during the day and cold as fuck in the night. Constant threats and attacks will turn any sane person 'insane'. No love ones or spouse, just u and whole bunch of other confused ppl wonder y this so called war is even going on. Thank God for Obama! Bring the troops home!

The best to ever use the soldier ranks succesfully was No Limit. P killed the game in the 90s with a Military-like approach with a roster as big as a Brigade. This nigga had at least 1 album from a artist coming out every month. Damn near killing ever nigga back then when it came to running a record label.

Rather simplistic article, but I see what your gettin at. But for real, it's unfortunate, but it's too common that service members go nuts. I haven't been deployed there yet, but I handle casualty reports for Marines before they go out to media outlets. The military life is stressful in itself, but to be deployed in the middle of an anti-paradise, it takes it's tole. That's why it's so important for units to monitor and help it's Marines/soldiers/airman/sailors as soon as they start noticing problems. An indiviual should be able to go to someone, ANYone in a unit and feel comfortable about letting them know how they feel without fear of retribution.

But that's not the case alot of times. I work far away from combat, but we had an incident where a young Marine, mother of 2, tried to take herself out, and all her superiors did was ridicule her for "being weak" and "selfish". They were more worried about the image of the shop and her getting her work done in time, than whether she'd be alive the next morning. Thankfuly she just got the help she needed, but there's way too much of this type of poor leadership going on in the military.

i think this is poorly written and the attempt to connect that event with Hip-Hop by analogy is both faulty in reasoning and flawed in execution. Generally the pictures connect to the story in some form but in this case it did nothing but prejudice the reader against the actual point of this piece.

I think this issue was good enough to stand on its own and the attempt to connect took the wind out of the sails of this editorial
