Hip Hop has always been critical. I watched an episode of that Hollyhood (Sambo clown shit) and they were telling the white boy lil wyte or whatever his name was not to use Hip Hop because don't nobody know what that is? What? That is some ignorant ass shit. If you were a graf artist and got caught biting my style I was bound to check you on it. If someone else saw you biting they would disown your ass. What is this shit today? People trying to keep the peace when garbage is garbage. If you repeating the same line four or five times in a verse that shit is garbage. If you ring tone rapping, nursery rhyming, whatever, you wack.

What I see today is the fact that these rappers know they are not saying anything. So when someone criticizes them for that they go on the defensive. If you compare record sales today, to record sales in 1995, the shit is not really selling all that well. I would have to say that an artist like Scarface would sell his records off word of mouth. I remember, my man would pull up in his Ac' Legend, like that new face out, play it, and we off to the "Wiz" because everyone wanted their own copy, case and everything. Yeah we made copies of tapes just like people bootleg and download now. The difference was we actually bought the shit because it was dope.

It wasn't about what was popular, it was about real dope shit and it normally became popular after a while. Like that Brand Nubian "everything is everything" they didn't top charts, but those of us with it appreciated the jewels and that is what it was about. So don't hate me for being old enough to remember what real Hip Hop is and not accepting this watered down garbage. I make a lot of my songs with extremely ignorant titles to make a point, you have to listen to the lyrics. One or two words or a hook don't make a song.
