The fact that they are lesbians, SUCCEEDING in a world and an INDUSTRY that says you are less than great simply because you are same gender loving actually makes the music even better it shows that they will not be limited by those things society and the industry say are obstacles! I think it's important for them to bring their sexuality to the forefront because it takes any power away from those who would try to use it against them! As for your reference to the Bible last time I check murder, stealing, greed, coveting, jealously, fornication were all noted as sins in the Bible so if you dare attack KIN for their "sin" I hope you have a whole list of hiphop artists on your "you're going to hell" list. The rest of your comment doesn't even deserve to be addressed. However, it's not because of gays and lesbians that the black community is as you so eloquently put it " hella fucked up" it's because of people like you who perpetuate heteronormativity, oppression, sexism and the ultimate decay of the black race from the inside out.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

I respect the fact that they want to be different, you don't see alot of that nowadays but one person cant bring hip hop back, i say, when hip hop starts to evolve you evolve with it like if the souljah boys and the uh uh club rockes are doin they thing, u take ya style up 3 notches becuase thiers no reason to cry about hip hop bein in its gravesite if you not doing ya part to try and keep it alive

1

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Black people need to dead all that homophobia shit. This is 2007, get with it. For a people (blacks) who have had to overcome so much adversity through the years in this country, to then turn around and categorically disrespect another group of humans is ignorance at it's finest. A lot of brothers think it's ok to diss gays, call people faggot, etc, but as soon as someone drops the N-bomb, everyone throws a fit and Rev. Al has to come out. Do yourself a favor, and go meet some gay people. You will find that they are funny, sensitive, and respectful people. Don't worry guys, they aren't gonna try to hit on you.

Discrimination is discrimination, so if you don't want someone calling you a Ni@@a, then watch what you say about others as well.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

that good foot track was boring mybe i need to check it out again

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Just b/c you're lesbian doesn't mean you have to be brolic...

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

I strongly disagree with their lifestyle, but I think their sexuality is gonna overshadow their music.

AllHipHop has already profiled them as “Black Lesbians”, which is going to turn off a lot of potential fans and quickly places them in a box.

Calling the article “Black Lesbians Rock” might hurt the group, and I think its borderline gimmickry.

I just hope they won’t allow corporations to pimp their sexual preference considering that Lesbianism is becoming the “IN” thing in Pop Culture.

Un Amor

Shalom
re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

LESIBAN ACTION WOW THAT NICE AND HOPE THEY CAN PERFORM TOO LOL.....SEEN THE VIDEO......

 "..FUCC FAKE PEOPLE 2008"

Male
24 years old
LOS ANGELES (HYDE PARK AREA), California
United States

Last Login: 1/30/2008

Mood: confident
View My: Pics | Videos

 Contacting MACCAPONE

MySpace URL:

http://www.myspace.com/maccapone1

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

All i can say is...
It looks like the world is finally coming to an end!

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

All i can say is...
It looks like the world is finally coming to an end!

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

@ LyricStar & 42wo non-fakin
First of all ya'll both made decent arguments. So i think it's groundbreaking that they've been able to not only make it but to do it with a grace and pride for who they are, ARTIST- BLACK-FEMALE-LESBIAN

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Young Cain Said- "Sounds to me like they exploiting the fact that they gay to gain some attention."

Maybe they are maybe they aren't, but if so is it really any different than other artists "claiming" that they are criminals, been shot, did a bid just to gain street cred so they can sell albums?

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

LyricStar= A Person who need to Learn Or Maybe Just Open Ya Damn Eyes!!! If you cut down one black person you cut us and your self down as well.
How is it that we can not support each other? For the person who likes to say that the world is at an end tell that to the white folks in charge of this government that
Are putting and end to it and only caring about themselves and not US (get it! Good!)... KIN is not at fault and neither is any gay or lesbian person(s). To the brother who says that
they don’t want to see any gay or lesbian rappers, take a look at the game... tell me that half, if not all of the rappers aren’t! Ha-ha... that some foolish shit to say.
TO KIN ... Regardless of what anyone has to say or think, we know nothing is going to stop the flow... multi-billionaires you two are becoming. I know you two will bring one of the biggest changes this world has to offer, its positive vibes and love that you two carry around with you all day and night and the vibrations are most definitely correct.
Reading all these comments made me want to respond to all of them but as we know peoples opinions are a mere smear on a smug proof window, you both see it
and damn it we believe it and we believe in you two and the realist creation, destiny, peace, love, RESPECT, PROSPERITY, Forgiveness, and Eternity. Like its "cool" or "hip" to be specifically a "black lesbian". Now im not talking about the article itself, but the headline. The headline is what sites use to have you click the link. Its the most important part, without that, who would read the article that just said "KIN: 2 females rappers". Basically, it calling attention to there sexual preference rather than the music. You don't see titles like "LL cool J: the straight rapper". Many people don't read all the articles on this site, but do see the headlines, and sub consciously these thinks seep in. Black lesbians rock is saying its cool. Why not just lesbians, why specifically do black lesbians rock? see my point. Just put out good music.

____________________________________________________

@ beatbrothersproduction
I FEEL WHAT 42WO NON-FAKIN IZ SAYIN, BUT IMAM NOT THE ONE TO JUDGE ANYBODY,I FEEL WE ALL HAVE FALLEN SHORT OFF THE GRACE SOMEWHERE IN OUR LIVES!

yeah, but its a big difference from falling short, repenting, and making a conscious effort to do better, than to make a conscious effort to continue sinful behavior.
re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

wow its official gwaga bwoy the dumbest dude on here son,lol them the stupidest comments i ever read. this boy need some attention, word up someone give him a hug or something

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Nor is mad sexxxy, yo...i came back here to save those pics on my harddrive.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

@ ruffbuff278

Nigga fuck you and every ugly mufucka look like you..I came with facts and you came with that ignorant ass post about nothing..See, without reproduction it wouldn't give stupid fucks like you an opportunity to come to life..I know we roll the dice with some of you retarded ass kids but its still worth it to keep the black race alive and thriving..

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

@gwaga bwoy Na first of all fuck u malik yoba looking ass nigga them werent facts u said its just your opinion.no white man put homos on this planet to fuck up the black race thats the most ignorant shit i ever read.whats wrong gwaga bwoy we''re you abused as a child scared to smile they called you ugly. Before you state your "facts" get them strait son.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

@ ruffbuff278

This is exactly what's wrong with you young fucks..You talk in ebonics and can't spell worth a shit..That's not an opinion, homosexuality came from white folks period..Pick up a book you dumb fuck and read..I do and that's why I know things like this..Every time I turn on the tv I don't turn to BET, MTV and VH1 and maybe you should try doing the same..Who said they were put here to fuck up the black race? Jail was one of those means of taking our masculinity..They put so many innocent black men in jails for countless years before they even got a chance to experience women thus creating that cycle with them..On the flip side all those black women were left without men..Some went to white guys and some turned to each other for support..I could go deeper but think and read some for yourself..I don't want you to think i'm trying to push my views on you..But white men were homosexuals dating back to b.c. days..That's a European thing..It wasn't accepted in Africa and it's not accepted in the West Indies..The people of the West Indies kept more of the African ways because they didn't have to interact with whites as much..Look at how they feel about homosexuality..African people put a lot into masculinity..We think being a man is about having sex as African Americans but they circumcised their boys at a certain age to let them know they were men and should go out and start their own families..

I definitely don't hate white people but I don't like the 6% that control this country..Some of my most dependable friends are white but they understand the game..It ain't about white folks as a whole it's about the white folks that control the thought process and actions of the rest of this country..

@ ruffbuff278

Okay, I respect that and if you would've asked questions from the get go instead of attacking my thoughts I would've gladly responded to you the way I did with litebastard..I apologize for what I said about your parents because i'm not that kind of person but I respond to people the way they do to me..I was born and partially raised on the Southside of Chicago in the Englewood district..One of the worse areas in the city and I saw it all...Both of my parents battled drug addictions and I went through all the ups and downs and I know what that life is about...I'd never wish it on my worse enemy but i don't regret any of it now because it made me the man I am today..I don't blame the white man for everything and just sit on my ass though either..I joined the Army and saw they were just the same as most others..But i'd like for you to check out this website and go threw and look at some of the Documentaries on what our government has done to hold us back over the years..Also, if you get a chance pick up the book "Behold the Pale Horse"....Like I said it's not all white people it's the ones that control this country but they use the middle class to control the lower class and create chaos so that we don't keep an eye on what they're doing..They create situations between different races and classes of people so that we don't see who is the real culprit..But don't stay focused on just "the dollar" because that's how they control us..Think deep on that one..If they give you enough money to feed your family what do you begin to think? That's there's no problems it's just them people are lazy and don't want shit..That's far from the truth...Look how they create differences between middle and lower class whites..Then look at how they create problems with both groups and every other races..Most poor whites hate every other race because that's what they've been programmed to do..Blame the blacks, jews, asians, middle eastern because you can't find a job..The picture is so big and clear but we choose not to see it for what it is because they got us all with our heads just above water enough to keep us focused on making money for them...If all races united within the middle and lower class imagine how much power we'd have..They can't let that happen so they create wars and all kind of other diversions to keep our minds off of them...They control the media too..We taking people to court over steroids and bullshit like that while they are getting away with murder and everything else..Bush and Cheney have made billions off of this war..The 250,000 they are getting paid for their presidency ain't shit compared to what they got from being in that position...Next time just ask and i'll explain though...

http://freedocumentaries.org/film.php?id=154

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Allow me to interject good peoples. gawga boy and 42wo are expressing sentiments based upon reality. I feel sorry for people who do not view their spirituality as apart of their lives and their relaity, what else drives you then? The mother of my daughter decided after messing with this ignant niguh to go dyke and put it in my kid's face for years, now I have sole custody of the child and we worked out visitation just today. It has been my experience that gay people with kids actually do not encourage their kids to be gay with words, meaning not intentionally, which I find odd. If nothing is wrong with that lifestyle why don't they teach these kids (either through past hetero relationships or adoption) that it is the way? Instead they teach tolerance. Who is the hypocrite? It seems to me that in my years dealing with homosexuals, I can conclude, they know that what they are doing is wrong (in society's view), they know God disapproves, they also know they want to do their own thing.
Homosexuality isn't biological, it's a choice like brushing your teeth, having sex, driving to the store, who you marry. I have yet to meet a gay person who can convince me that they were always gay from birth! Even kids in the first grade have crushes, so what's up?

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

dyke rappers. who cares. im sick of seein' bitches dress up and act like dudes. if i wanted to see that i'd go to a lil wayne concert.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

aND the bible says!!..i'm playing, I'm not with that bible crap but good luck to those two. I think what makes them different is that they are coming out and making it known what they are. People have a problem with rappers not "coming out of the closet" and when they do, it's still a problem.

It appears that the problem is with the people and not the artists. Also, all of these religious heads preach unconditional love but when their child or someone close to them reveals who they are, they are shunned. Well that's not unconditional love.

For those who may think that homosexuality is a choice and not something you're born with. Well, I think it's both. Not every homosexual or lesbian went to jail. Alot of them make it clear that they had those feelings as a child, people really can not offically give a reason unless they are in that predicament.

JMO,

Peace

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Dear Ladies and men and a few gentleman, We have come forth here to be the judge as we believe to be..Oh but aren't we?
I'm assuming that those who have bothered to go through the process of login in fact, Do it for the love, like and or taste for hip- hop.. Ah yes, this ever dying thing, the true lyrical master of words..Was it not this that made the urban listener keen on truly feeling what is being spoken. The tale of the In's and outs of life on them hard neglected ghetto streets that are my own as well? It's not debate, or shouldn't be. It just is. Kind of like being Black. It always has been. The first historically recorded gay couple was the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten and his lover Smenkhkare. No one seemed bothered by this, according to the historians. If anything, their challenging of the power of the clergy is what ultimately led to his demise and Tutankhamen's ascension. But from these men to some of the first great astrologers, gay men from the Kingdom of Dogan to the all-women's army of Dahomey, gay women and men have always been here and part of every Black community. They, like heterosexual Afrikans, were there when we were dragged across the middle passage; there during chattel slavery; and there during every single struggle for liberation in which we've been engaged. So I would argue that MXGM in fact cannot exist under its current mission--to forward the rights of New Afrikans--without the 7th Priniciple anymore than it can or should exist without a Prinicple challenging sexism. The idea that homosexuality in someway undermines Black families/the availability of Black men for Black women is simply, historically inaccurate. LGBTI have always presented in any and every population within roughly the same numbers. Exact figures are hard to track down because for years there was such forced silence, but there's no evidence that numbers of those identifying within one of the aforementioned categories has changed. And yet there have been changes in the traditional--here I mean two parents, couple of kids--family. But this doesn't occur until the 1970s. It occurs with the increase of urban poverty which forced a reliance on the government's welfare system, an institution which disallowed a man from moving into a woman's home if she received some form of TANF. Between that incursion into our families and the prison system which in 1968 controlled some 200,000 people, and at the end 2005, the last year you can get accurate numbers, some 7.7 million people were under its control--including at least 1,000,000 Black men who were not on parole or probation, but in a prison or jail cell, what our families look like has indeed changed. To conflate those issues with support for the human rights of Afrikans who identify LGBTI, cannot be supported by facts. we may go back and forth speculating about who or what Minister Malcolm would be down with today. We do know he admonished us to know our history, for of all our subjects its rewards were greatest. And we do know we loved him so because he was a man in a constant state of evolution, which for me remains his most enduring lesson: to always struggle to evolve.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

Also, since so many folks are always throwing out the Panthers, or Martin or Malcolm, check out what Huey wrote in 1970-38 years later, we does it matter?

The Women's Liberation and Gay Liberation Movements

Speech given by Huey Newton, founder of the Black Panthers, August 15, 1970

During the past few years strong movements have developed among women and among homosexuals seeking their liberation. There has been some uncertainty about how to relate to these movements.
Whatever your personal opinions and your insecurities about homosexuality and the various liberation movements among homosexuals and women (and I speak of the homosexuals and women as oppressed groups), we should try to unite with them in a revolutionary fashion. I say " whatever your insecurities are" because as we very well know, sometimes our first instinct is to want to hit a homosexual in the mouth, and want a woman to be quiet. We want to hit a homosexual in the mouth because we are afraid that we might be homosexual; and we want to hit the women or shut her up because we are afraid that she might castrate us, or take the nuts that we might not have to start with.
We must gain security in ourselves and therefore have respect and feelings for all oppressed people. We must not use the racist attitude that the White racists use against our people because they are Black and poor. Many times the poorest White person is the most racist because he is afraid that he might lose something, or discover something that he does not have. So you're some kind of a threat to him. This kind of psychology is in operation when we view oppressed people and we are angry with them because of their particular kind of behavior, or their particular kind of deviation from the established norm.
Remember, we have not established a revolutionary value system; we are only in the process of establishing it. I do not remember our ever constituting any value that said that a revolutionary must say offensive things towards homosexuals, or that a revolutionary should make sure that women do not speak out about their own particular kind of oppression. As a matter of fact, it is just the opposite: we say that we recognize the women's right to be free. We have not said much about the homosexual at all, but we must relate to the homosexual movement because it is a real thing. And I know through reading, and through my life experience and observations that homosexuals are not given freedom and liberty by anyone in the society. They might be the most oppresed people in the society.
And what made them homosexual? Perhaps it's a phenomenon that I don't understand entirely. Some people say that it is the decadence of capitalism. I don't know if that is the case; I rather doubt it. But whatever the case is, we know that homosexuality is a fact that exists, and we must understand it in its purest form: that is, a person should have the freedom to use his body in whatever way he wants.
That is not endorsing things in homosexuality that we wouldn't view as revolutionary. But there is nothing to say that a homosexual cannot also be a revolutionary. And maybe I'm now injecting some of my prejudice by saying that "even a homosexual can be a revolutionary." Quite the contrary, maybe a homosexual could be the most revolutionary.
When we have revolutionary conferences, rallies, and demonstrations, there should be full participation of the gay liberation movement and the women's liberation movement. Some groups might be more revolutionary than others. We should not use the actions of a few to say that they are all reactionary or counterrevolutionary, because they are not.
We should deal with the factions just as we deal with any other group or party that claims to be revolutionary. We should try to judge, somehow, whether they are operating in a sincere revolutionary fashion and from a really oppressed situation. (And we will grant that if they are women they are probably oppressed.) If they do things that are unrevolutionary or counterrevolutionary, then criticize that action. If we feel that the group in spirit means to be revolutionary in practice, but they make mistakes in interpretation of the revolutionary philosophy, or they do not understand the dialectics of the social forces in operation, we should criticize that and not criticize them because they are women trying to be free. And the same is true for homosexuals. We should never say a whole movement is dishonest when in fact they are trying to be honest. They are just making honest mistakes. Friends are allowed to make mistakes. The enemy is not allowed to make mistakes because ! his whole existence is a mistake, and we suffer from it. But the women's liberation front and gay liberation front are our friends, they are our potential allies, and we need as many allies as possible.
We should be willing to discuss the insecurities that many people have about homosexuality. When I say "insecurities," I mean the fear that they are some kind of threat to our manhood. I can understand this fear. Because of the long conditioning process which builds insecurity in the American male, homosexuality might produce certain hang-ups in us. I have hang-ups myself about male homosexuality. But on the other hand, I have no hang-up about female homosexuality. And that is a phenomenon in itself. I think it is probably because male homosexuality is a threat to me and female homosexuality is not.
We should be careful about using those terms that might turn our friends off. The terms "faggot" and "punk" should be deleted from our vocabulary, and especially we should not attach names normally designed for homosexuals to men who are enemies of the people, such as Nixon or Mitchell. Homosexuals are not enemies of the people.
We should try to form a working coalition with the gay liberation and women's liberation groups. We must always handle social forces in the most appropriate manner.

http://www.historyisaweapon.org/defcon1/newtonq.html

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

whoa!!! this is a hot ass topic right here...this is about way more than the music. 80% of the comments have direct references to these sista's sexuality. my personal opinion or spiritual beliefes on that topic are irrelavent in this context. it's supposed to be about their music. i think most of you would agree from reading these post, their sexuality "has" over shadowed their music in this paticular article/postings. this is just a microview of the hip hop world as a whole. the world is homophobic in large measure, that in its self kind of dooms these sistas from having the success most hetero groups/artist have the opprotunity to achieve. with that being said, i "feel" the ladies shouldn't allow the emphasis to be placed on what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms. ya dig? like the saying goes, "everybody's business aint nobody's business". if you put it out there, and "it's" something that the majority of the record buying public isn't in agreement with on a moral level, you have to accept the negativity and restrictions that come with it or at least deal with it. now, in my opinion the music is average, no better or no worse that some of the other shit that's posted. i wish kin the best, but if they were straight and ass naked i wouldn't buy the music, it just isnt good enough for my hard earned chips, yet.

re: KIN: Black Lesbians Rock

What can I say?
