Coolio is definitely that dude, but I don't think that "wreckless persona" is him. "I don't want love, I just want pussy" and "I kept it straight G" or whatever. That shit ain't him. Or, either it really is him but he has failed to show us until now...after all the EXTRA radio-friendly joints he put out in the mid-90s.

In my teenaged years, white people listened to two rappers...Will Smith and Coolio. All I heard in the mid-90s was white cats bumping that Men in Black or that Gangsta's Paradise, like you couldn't just turn on the radio and hear it there. I said that to say that both Coolio and Will Smith are my dudes...I respect both them cats and like their music. But you got to give it to cats like Will Smith who stays consistent in their character. Coolio, on the other hand, sounds like a middle-aged who is suffering from an identity crisis. Other emcees in their 40s who are actually "certified" don't even talk like him.
