First and foremost big up's and much respect allhiphop I love the site. Do your thing. I am a 31 year old African American male who spent 5 1/12 in prison. While incarcerated I was able to obtain my GED as well as an associate degree. Upon my release in 2004 I enrolled into a Bachelor degree program and successfully completed my B.A. in Psychology. Today I work for a well known university and I'm currently finishing up my Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology and I was just accepted into the Doctorate Program for counseling. Now I am not just writing this for a pat on the back or anything, but I have been sending mad emails to the allhiphop staff for a interview. Yet i get no response so to allhiphop staff reading this i will not stop sending emails until someone gives me a chance to speak. I love this site and have been rocking with you guys for a minute. So i will not stop emailing and posting until I have a chance to share my story with allhiphop readers. The young people on this site need to here words of wisdom from someone other than a rapper or actor. Again, Much respect to allhiphop, my next step is to youtube and ask for an interview. "Maino: Because the whole record is my idea. My man Mista Raja, I called him up and told him I got this idea, I want to use this particular record. We used the beat that [Mary J. Blige] had, we found that beat, shout out to my man, DJ Unique, for getting the instrumental to us. What I did was Mr. Raja, he looped it, and I rapped to it."

But I'll tell you what. Last weekend I drove 19 hours from NYC to Alabama and back... and the only rap song by a New York artists that was being played on the radio in the states I went through.... PA, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama... was Maino's "Hi Hater"....

It's not your rhyme skills and lyrics that matter it's how much coke you sold, how may bodies you have and how much prison time you did. That's what's important first and foremost. What you do on a track comes second.

so to sum up on being real hip hop:

1) amount of weight you pushed in the dope game
2) amount of bodies you put under
3) prison time, (fed time better)
4) current respect level on the street
5) ability to rap

without good levels of 1,2,3 and 4 your rap is fake. That's the foundation, the prerequisites before you rap

Yawn.....haven't we heard all of this shit a million times from damn-near every artist in rap??? Really, dude ain't gonna be around for very long because of several reasons. 1st, he's not bringing anything new or exciting to the game. 2nd, he's not really that great lyrically. 3rd, though his single moves the club & get's radio play I just don't forsee dude being able to bring shit that will make him continually marketable to an audience that would want to buy his albums or support him in other ways.

One of the biggest problems I have with these "so hard" rap niggas is how they make pussy-ass songs like Maino's shit "Hi Haters" and actually get away with that shit. I would expect shit like that from a female on the reals.
