Lakers in 6.

I predicted Orlando was going to beat Cleveland in 6 and everybody said I was crazy. I really like Orlando but I don't think Kobe is going to let the Lakers lose back-to-back finals. In addition, the Lakers are bringing back all their players from last season (minus Vladimir) and they all experienced the bitter taste of defeat which is something this 09 cast of Orlando Magic players know nothing about.

L.A. will have problems down low defending Howard but Gasol is smart enough not to foul out. Gasol will still get his 20 to 25 ppg. The important thing for L.A. will be the fact that Odom, Kobe & Ariza are going to need to really help rebound and not allow Howard to get put-backs.

I don't think Hedo & Lewis will be as much of a problem for L.A. as they were for Cleveland b/c Bryant, Odom & Ariza are all excellent wing defenders (when they put their minds to it).

On the other hand, if the zebras blow the whistle in favor of Kobe like they did for LeBron then Orlando doesn't stand a chance because unlike "LeBrick", Kobe is shooting around 95% from the free throw line in the playoffs this year and HE IS CLUTCH.

On a side note, fuck both these teams. I hope my Knicks get the opportunity to draft Stephen Curry & I'm praying that Amare is really serious about reuniting with D'Antoni in a Knicks uniform.

It is funny how the media is not giving the magic a chance to defeat the lakers in the finals. I know, people say that kobe will not let his team lose a second consecutive nba finals, and he is sick and tired of people saying "KOBE CAN NOT WIN WITHOUT SHAQ." Plus, with pal gasol's talents and lamar odom, who has finally chose to play in the playoffs, the lakers seem destined to win a nba title. However, if you are a magic fan or a person, like myself, who analysis the game before the game is played, you look at the matchups in the finals and in the eastern conference finals, i will say that orlando has the same matchup advantages. The only difference between the two are that orlando's shooters will be defended by laker players who are their size (cavs delonte west and mo williams was a small backcourt). But even with no height advantages for the magic, players like rashad lewis and hedo turkoglu are still going to get their points because of the variety of weapons the magic have. That is why i like this team because there is not one or two people that opposing teams have to gameplan and only focus on. Along with howard, lewis, and turkoglu, you have an outstanding rookie in courtney lee who is not afraid to take the big shot, michael pietrus who has been the x factor on both ends of the court for this team throughout the playoffs, and you can not sleep on rafer "skip to my lou" alston. The man will drop 20 on you if you do not take his game seriously (something that lebron did not do). But wait...there is another weapon on the magic squad that might cause the lake show some concern. Magic's Jamer nelson has not played a nba game in four months because of a shoulder injury. If he can give orlando just a spark whether he is starting or coming off the bench, it is going to be tough for kobe and the lakers to try and stop the magic offense.

I'm sure many of the people going for the Magic are not Orlando Magic Fans. They are more likely Laker haters. I'm with the President on this one, Lakers in 6, though I had that prediction before I heard his. You can say I'm biased, since I'm a L.A. native and have been a Laker fan since birth. However, I think the Lakers will win because:

1. Lakers have home court advantage. I know the 2-3-2 format even things up a bit, but as we saw last year, Boston won all every game on their home floor. Lakers had home field advantage through the playoffs, and now they are in the NBA Finals. I know Orlando proved they can win on the road, but the Lakers can as well. Some didn't think the Lakers could win in Denver, and in fact we won 2 there.

2. Lakers know how to win in that atmosphere, and most of them have been there before. This is the Magic's 2nd time in the NBA Finals, and none of the players have been this far before. They have done well to have this opportunity, but the NBA finals is a different ballgame.

3. Stronger Bench. Lakers have that. When it comes down to giving your best players rest, you need a strong bench to keep the game steady, and sometimes to get a spark going. Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar, Lamar Odom, and Shannon Brown have made significant contributions coming off the bench. Plus, I also disagree with the blogger here on another thing. I believe that Ariza has been the X-Factor for the Lakers. He adds a spark and hits key 3 pointers. and

4. The Lakers have LEARNED THEIR LESSON!!! They won't be soft against Orlando, nor underestimate them. Houston took them for a ride, and they learned from that. Look at the series with Denver. With the exception of the 4th and 6th game, all the games were close, down to the wire. Kobe doesn't need to take over the game, and now the other players know what they need to do.

Magic pg jamer nelson will not play in game 1.

My thoughts: I think that it is a good thing nelson is not playing the first game of the series which is extremely important because of coach phil jackson's record when he wins game 1 of a series (he is undefeated). If the magic are going to win this series, they need their best players WHEN HEALTHY. Nelson is not even 80% healthy, but he is not in any kind of game shape. There is still a chance he will play in the series, but it is unlikely. If nelson is going to play in the series, he should play when the magic are playing at home. The home crowd will motivate him.

Thats why its always funny when i hear fans chant "BEAT LA! BEAT LA!" Its like even while 'cheering' for your team, our team's name is still in yall's mouth. That lets me know that YOU know we're better.
