Jay is really smart though....Jay was on a quest to run N.Y. since his Reasonal Doubt days.....Biggie and Nas was his biggest competition back then.....He did songs with Biggie in an attempt to tap into Biggies fan base....He did and after Biggie past all of Biggies fan naturally sided with Jay-Z....

Nas never did songs with Jay-Z back then because Nas knew Jay-Z was trying to undermine Nas contribution to hip-hop...Only after Nas established his legacy did he start working with Jay-Z...

He's trying to show up Kanye now because he feels Kanye is his biggest competition....This is why Jay-Z shouldn't be the C.E.O of any record label because his pride refuses him to fall back and let his own artist succeed....FEEL ME.

As for this song he did take it back to the Reasonable Doubt basic flow...Pharrell didn't need to be sounding annoying with the hook..Maybe Pharrell singing the hook will grow on me....This song "Blue Magic" was made specifically for the club.. His older fan base that remembers the hustlers driving those red drop M3's w/ the full red ang green Gucci suits will appreciate this. The younger folk who are influenced by everything that's "now" will appreciate it after the movie hits and you start being told it's cool. Either way, it's a win. This song is okay. The whole idea of doing a soundtrack by himself to the movie American Gangster even though it has a soundtrack of its own is corny though.  I wish they would be original. That is a good analysis of personality portraid on each album...
I guess there diffrent moods for a particular time frame when Jay is creating his music... I guess that why people can feel his music because he is a human like us all. He is just very articulate on how he expresses that emotion... We all have our good, bad, cocky, depressed, etc. days  

The Song is good in my oppinion... Old school flow.. I guess he has nothing to prove.. Track Is Hard. I like it. I think Jay's up & coming album will do better that His last. Even though I liked the last album (Kingdom Come) This one will sell more because of peoples expectations. I have a love/hate relationship with Pac (No homo)

Living in Oakland most of my life Pac to me wasn't top ANYTHING until he signed to Death Row and started poppin sh*t about Biggie & Bad Boy.

He had 3-4 albums that were all luke warm. Yes, he had hits like "Dear Mama", "So Many Tears", "Brenda Has a Baby" & "I Get Around" plus some hot lyrics on E-40's "Dusted and Disqusted" and a few others, but Pac to me was never major until he beefed.

Without Beef Pac would have been B + (If that).

When people were like "Pac was a leader" no he wasn't. He needed to be lead that's why he sold his soul to Suge. Pac had so many garbage or below average songs it's crazy.

Take away the beef songs and Pac is above average. But to each is own. you have your reasons for feeling he's much more.

Nobody REALLY started checkin for this dude until he got shot the first time, got that rape charge, beat up the Twin Movie Brothers and did that Vibe article bad talking Bad Boy.

Even when the movie Juice came out he was respected as a cold character, but he wasn't major until major problems happened to him. Please note

Pac had been out 6 plus years (numerous so so albums)before "All Eyes on Me" came out.

NAME 6 songs before "Me Against The World) on each of those other albums that were great songs? NAME EM!

Pac wasn't pushing major units, didn't have a gang of major quotes, posse cuts where he murdered tracks (Doing tracks with your crew doesn't count cause even Em' & Big murdered their crews on other tracks but still ripped posse cuts with legendary rappers) or even in top 10 rapper's talk until he started beefin.

Even when Snoop came out on the Chronic & Doggystyle he was above Pac. Pac has classic songs there's no doubt. But to say he has an ALBUM (Full body of work) that is on the level of Doggystyle, Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, Ready to Die, Life After Death, A tribe Called Quest 2nd Album, Death Certificate, Amerrikkka's Most Wanted, It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back you're lying to yourself and to the rest of the people reading.

Pac was a great character. Probably would have won an academy award.
