It's Black History Month!

It's a shame the only place to get real history lessons above anything else is from a rap song. The commercials like McDonalds and these other company's don't give you the history of the day. And getting it from the curriculum taught in school is a lost cause in itself. Even Roots sugar coated what things were like back then. Because if they kept it 100, that movie would not have seen the light of day.

This is a great concept, and I'm thinking about showing this to my 1st grade class. Let them memorize this and sing it all day instead of "we pop bottles" bs they chant all day. I correct them when they do, but some people really need to take time out and understand they are polluting young people's minds. It's not all on the artist, but man thee fuck up and realize you effect a lot of people's thought process. That being said, parents need to step their game up as well and watch what they listen to around their kids.

Ugk kept it real, MJG kept it street, Cash Money stayed gutter but looka this nigga. I dont knock the dude tryin to be positive but that nigga know the real reason why he doin that shit. He sold out and the hood dont want the nigga no more. If he was still sellin 2 and 3 million album he would be still on that g shit. So my opinion is fuck Master P and romeo. ...I know P's trying to set the stage of taking hip hop back to talking about relevant Black issues, but is rap even an appropriate forum in the first place? Imagine if P didn't already have a history in rap, would this track have even made it to AHH? I know it's Black History month and all but face it, most people would rather remain ignorant...

...speaking of Black History Month, is it even worth having anymore???

the idea was nice, but what i don't understand is why black people think they owe other black people anything? The more we celebrate Black History Month (the coldest and shortest month of the year) the more ignerant we look. Ya'll can't see that? I think it's funny. There's no such thing as any race celebrating their history because it's just a race. The whole country should celebrate history of a country, NOT A RACE. Do you think the white people in South Africa (and if you didn't know white africans make up 40% of that population) celebrate White African History Month?....lol NO BECAUSE NIGGAS IN AMERICA ARE HOPELESS AND NO MATTER WHAT U THINK THEY'LL NEVER GET IT...LOL..but i love ya'll HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH NIGGA...lol

Y'all young cats so stupid.  P aint broke.  You don't rub shoulders with big politicians if you got no money.  And I don't mean just taking a picture with them.  Before you so quick talk about his money, check out what the brother is doing.  The political game is big business.  Ask Russell Simmons.

And for those that are saying he only positive because he's not selling millions of records, who is?  50 sold 10 mil when he came out, he hasn't even come close to that since he dropped that album.  Even if you add his efforts together since he sold a dime, they might add up to 10 mil.

Ever think P is putting his money somewhere else, like real estate and other businesses???  Y'all so dumb!   Everytime a brother try's to do something positive, they always get pulled down.  Bunch a crabs.
February 8, 2008 10:02 AM

Marty MacFly said:

This song is really good for real! I hope they actually play this song! For the young cats out here, Master P was the first rapper to ever to create a successful Record Label, make his own rules (he had the lowest publishing deal ever), listed in Forbes and real hustler in the game. This guy can't be broke!!! You can file bankruptcy for a business doesn't mean your broke just mean that, that particular business failed. He had car dealerships, he had his own cell phone air provider, he made movies, he had his own tv show on Nick, he had his own chips (kids in the hood know about them), he was a sports agent ect. Master P = rich Why do you think 50 Cent told him he learned so much from him!!!
February 8, 2008 12:08 PM

RedDeezo said:

niggas are embarrasing....Black people are so out of it.....Master P ain't did nothing but find another hustle. Yes he still has money. Of course he ain't broke. He's just capitalizing on what is needed right now for black people..SOME DAMN SENSE. Ya'll don't see that? I bet somebody gonna say "everytime a brotha does something positive, somebody gotta hate". What he doing is just MORE POSITIVE than what MOST NIGGAS ARE DOING. BUT HE STILL HUSTLING IGNERANT NIGGAS. every black person already knows there history, its branded in us. so rapping to a video that's shows how one race was did in the past AINT POSITIVE, unless u just ignerant..

Rather it's a hustle or not..it needed to be done..but you really can't say it's a hustle tho..so ok then say chuck d was hustlin muhfuckas to then..but whatever the case..it needed to be done.i'm tired of these gimmick ass rappers that's out now..nobody spits real shit really anymore..every song you gone hear somethin bout jewels, rims, clubs, over and over.it's the same shit just over a different beat..shit spit about some hardship so a nigga can relate and think damn i'm not alone in this shit..these muhfuckas goin thru it to..it got to the point where soulja boy said he hotter than jay-z and kanye west..c'mon on now...i mean you got people sayin that P use to be the ice cream man and now he doin music like this  to make money..ok yea he use to be the ice cream man..use to be..this nigga got kids that he's raising nigga in his 30's the man is a man raisin his family..you can't say P broke this nigga sold over 75 million records..got his on rim line, clothes, shoes, jewelry, business etc..see muhfuckas to caught up in tryin to be hood since the shit glamorized so much..and think everybody pose to think alike in the hood and never leave the muhfucka.if you think inside the box you gone stay in that muhfucka..folks think just cause u make a lil money and leave the hood that you sellin out or whateva and that the people you grew up with and banged with gone turn they back on you...well if they turn they back then they really not down wit you in the first place..if they yo real true nigga they gone respect that you want different and better shit...niggas gotta start bein men about themselves and not let what another muhfucka say influence what the fuck you wanna do..think for yourself..it's all different personalities in the hood..yea im'a blood tho from the norf side of my city j-block 55..but shit i'm growin up i'm 24 just gettin into school and believe when i'm able to get the fuck up out of here i'm gone.i'm not raisin my kids how i was raised fuck that..
