Lil' Romeo Purchases Rap Snacks Brand Of Chips

By Danyel Jones and Roman Wolfe

Romeo Miller is following in the entrepreneurial footsteps of his father Percy "Master P." Miller, as the 18-year-old rapper/actor recently purchased Rap Snacks Inc., a popular potato chip brand.

The younger Miller purchased the corporation for an undisclosed amount, acquiring the rights to the Rap Snacks line of potato chips, which are dubbed "The Official Snack of Hip Hop."

Rap Snacks was first founded by James "Fly" Lindsey in 1994.

Each Rap Snack bag features a cartoon image and biography of a rapper who is endorsing the product.

Rap Snacks Inc., based in Greensboro, North Carolina, had a breakout year in 2006, selling over 3 million bags of chips featuring images of rappers like Murphy Lee, Mack 10, Stat Quo and Romeo's father, Master P.

"I think it's incredible," Master P. told AllHipHop.com. "All my life I was looking to build a generation of wealth and to have your family understand that is great."

Romeo also hopes to duplicate the legendary success of his father's No Limit Records imprint by launching his own record company, Take A Stand Records and a clothing company, Gumbo Station.

Romeo's own personalized flavor of Rap Snacks is "Bar-B-Quin With My Honey," a honey barbecue flavor potato chip, while Atlanta rapper Yung Joc has a personlized line of flavored cheese curls.

Lil Romeo... Like father, Like son. Buying a company is a good way of preserving wealth, as long as the company doesn't bust, this might be a bad example due to the character.. But look @ 50 Cent, the man invested millions into the Vitamin Water and Coke bought it for billions. Second, I grew up listening to Master P, in my opinion and to the best of my knowlege, he was one of the first to open the door for the south to become what it is today. Props to the Millers making moves.

ABSOLUTELY.

@ I'm@Foul4Yall and Big Homie 3000

WHY CAN'T HE HAVE A SCHOLARSHIP? P. MILLER FOUNDATION SENDS OVER 25 UNDERPRIVILEGE KIDS TO COLLEGE EVERY YEAR. BUYS UNIFORMS FOR THE KIDS FROM THE CALLIOPE PROJECTS, YEARLY. THEY'RE ALREADY GIVING BACK. I THINK IF HE EARNS A SCHOLARSHIP, HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCEPT IT. IT IS SAYING, HIS BBALL GAME IS OWN ENOUGH FOR THE SCHOOL TO GIVE HIM A FREE EDUCATION. IT'S ABOUT HIS ABILITY, ATHLETICALLY, NOT ABOUT HIS ABILITY, FINANCIALLY. THOUSANDS OF RICH KIDS GET SCHOLARSHIPS TO HARVARD, PRINCETON AND YALE,ETC,... EVERY YEAR. SOME SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THEIR HERITAGE OR FAMILY HISTORY WITH THAT SCHOOL. THEY ACCEPT THEM. I ACCEPTED MINE AND MY PARENTS COULD'VE AFFORDED MY TUITION TOO. BUT THE SCHOOL WANTS THE ATHLETE WHO CAN SELL TICKETS AND GIVE THEM DOUBLE YOU'S. SO THEY CAN MAKE GUAP OFF YOU. IT'S ABOUT STATUS, REALLY. SO IT'S FAIR, IMO.

i see it like when parents put their kids on their credit cards at 16,17 years old. When they turn 18, if their parents got great credit.....they do too!

regardless if P used his money or if Romeo did, it's still a great move regardless! Banks and businesses will be more willing to do business with a man who can say he *hopefully* turned a large profit on a company at the age of 18-19....

Now, I know Percy Miller is reading this. Why? Because it seems he's always conversing with AHH. My message to Mr. Miller: PLEASE KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! Everyone talks about how rappers aren't role models. Master P was always that role model. He just kept it "real" while making his millions. Now, he's finally toning down his persona which makes it even better. Master P and David Banner don't get anywhere near the credit they deserve!!!

This kind of thing really has the potential to blow and you know their going to increase the distribution right away. I think it's an idea that has a lot of potential and I bet people are going to start biting it (no pun intended) in a few years.

I am proud to see a young black man doing his thing. I remember many years ago Master P talked about generational wealth. He said that he wants to pass down his wealth to his children and his children pass it down to their children, etc, etc, etc. And for my man that said Masyer P probably bought the company, think about it, the young man has his own show, he is signed to daddy's record company which means he is caked up and I am sure that Master P advised him on what to do with his money. I just wish more brothers were more like Master P.

I give props to P, because he really cares of hid children. Should he instead tell his son to smoke blunts all days and spend all the money they got? P is not like Diddy and them to leave their children alone with their mothers. He does good. So please everybody don't tell me P is not hood enough, because he is clever. He is a good guy and an entrepreneur who cares. Look at Fiddy Cent and Jigga. Have you ever heard  bout them giving back? They never do.
So haters please shut up. P is a real do plus he really owns his shit.

WE CAN ALL HELP ROMEO'S VENTURE BE A SUCCESS, BY BUYING THE CHIPS AND REQUESTING THEM AT YOUR LOCAL CORNER STORE. I KNOW THE MILLER'S GIVE BACK. WHETHER YOUR CORNER STORE OWNER GIVES ANYTHING TO YOUR COMMUNITY IS ANOTHER QUESTION. THE MAJORITY OF THE STORE OWNERS IN OUR "HOODS" ARE "IMPORTED". THAT IS ANOTHER PROBLEM WE NEED TO ADDRESS AND TACKLE. "REAL OWNERSHIP" OF THOSE BLOCKS, WE'RE KILLING EACH OTHER OVER.

BECAUSE SCHOLARSHIPS DON'T WORK LIKE THAT. WHEN YOU ARE OFFERED A SCHOLARSHIP, IT IS EXCLUSIVE TO YOU. YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CASH. YOU EITHER USE IT OR THE SCHOOL KEEPS IT. THAT'S HOW IT GOES. SO ROMEO SHOULD TAKE IT. HE IS ALREADY SENDING 25 STUDENTS PER YEAR TO COLLEGE. FORBES OR NO FORBES, MY DISPOSABLE INCOME STAY STRAIGHT.
