Now I'm happy that Kanye came out on top of this, but lets be honest. 2nd place on national charts is not a brick. 50 still did big numbers (for today's climate anyway) he just didn't do numbers bigger than Mr. West.

Nobody else at G-Unit records can actually move any units. That is why they have been doing "talent searches" on the Internet for new rap artists. Most of them will never see the light of day, and if they have any talent as producers or writers they will 1) Ghost write for the weak talent he has and 2) Ghost produce for the weak talent he has.  50 needs to get back to basics, I know it's hard to get back to basics after you reach a certain level but he has to try or give it up and move on to something else, nothing wrong with that either.

I got Kanye's album over the weekend and there was only one copy left. Meanwhile, they had plenty of Curtis albums available. I listened to Kanye's album and it's straight fiyah. Fair is fair... 50 Cent ran his mouth and Kanye still outsold him in the first week.  But remember, Jigga had huge 1st week sales and yet the momentum couldn't continue and he just inched past double platinum with 'Kingdom Come'.

If you read my other posts then you know that I'm feeling 50 more than Kanye.  The way I look at it, Jay Z caught some bricks too along the way but you have to look at his entire career and I think his 'Black Album' was one of his hottest even though some people were calling Jigga washed up right before he dropped that.  Maybe 50 Cent's next album will show us the hunger that we all loved on 'Power of the Dollar' and the mixed tape circuit... or maybe not, who knows?

Regardless, think about it, does Kanye West really represent what hiphop is all about?  Sick producer...yes, I'll give him that.  Can turn a phrase or two... sometimes, but so can Lil Wayne and about 100 other rappers.  I mean let's look at the so-called 'Kings' over the years... KRS-ONE, Rakim, Chuck D, Ice Cube, Big, Pac, Pun,  Jigga, Nas (yes there are many more and even some of the ones I picked will probably be debated) and then in the same breath...Kanye?  Does that seem right to you?

I think 50 Cent IS hiphop but he has lost his way a bit chasing that dollar.  I think Kanye West can be entertaining at times but more in a Gnarles Barkley / Andre 3000 kind of way... I know it all falls under the same umbrella but Louis Vutton and temper tantrums at award shows?  I don't know, man.

Eh, whatever. I didn't think Ye would "beat" 50 and I side with Ye on creativity and lyrics and such (no homo) but Ye did it yet, at the same time, I'm like whatever. I enjoy Ye's album the most and I've had 50's since day one of the leak and STILL find it weak, overall.
Now, that's, again, whatever. What I'm disappointed in is 50's behavior. While I don't really feel his lyrics and he can come with a nice beat every once and a while, he is actin' like a little girl since getting trumped from day one by Ye and he's supposed to be so "street and gangsta." I know he's human and
I thought I saw a method in his madness but now I see a really desparate rapper who really put a lot of his emotion into this and doesn't know how to take defeat.
Bottom line - I would expect such girlish behavior from Ye, not 50

Thx bro i really appreciate it...I just get tired of people saying some wierd shit sometimes...you are right though im sure no one cared for a new album anyways from 50 cent....I knew that there was going to be problems when i first fopund out that these guys were releasing on the same date....of course now that Kanye West won this round.....Kanye West has to watch out what he actualy does....b/c i dont know 50 cent but by his lyrics he is sneaky.....Im sure that this will lead to some street violence....we seen tupac and biggie die.....maybe a repeat....basically if oyu think about it....nerdy guy punking off a street gangsta...I sure hope that this is a blessing and help to kick start 50's next and last album from interscope before he goes to warner...

To be honest everyone....Even though Im a 50 cent fan...I don't think i will buy his next album....I listen to this album many times and it is nothing like his last albums...However, listening to 50 cent Curtis album has opened up my ears to a new 50 cent....he wants to touch a field that he is yet to adventure upon....im sure he wanted to complete a whole album for the ladies....but then split it 50/50 for the streets...

as for kanye west....well new news from myside here at my house....since i bought two copies and still not open the other since i been spnding most my time in my car with 50 cent newest album i returned it ....reason being....CANCELLING A FUCKIN TOUR....NEVER ever backstab a fan....

NOT ONLY DID I RETURN MY EXTRA COPY OF 50 CENT - CURTIS....I EXCHANGED IT FOR KANYE WEST ALBUM....I like 3-4 songs....but after listening to the album today i have started liking more songs....

The albums are completely different so they cant really have a competition with each other....these are honestly 2 different genre' of music to me....basically both win as a few of you said...

You can call 50 the realest nigga of all time if you want to but he still came in 2nd to Kanye. Funny thing is everytime 50 fail to live up to his own hype he always got an excuse. His first 3 singles was wack and sounded just alike but he said if anyone else would've did those songs they would've been hot. Man weak music is weak music, period. His "real nigga answer" as you would call it came up short and now he's blaming Interscope for not marketing the album. We not even talkin about the long run. Maybe he will outsell Kanye by the end of the month. And the figures not even out yet: maybe he outsold him the first week. If he did, lets see how fast he switch up from making excuses to saying "told you so." And I never said that I dont like what 50 ever says so don't put words in my mouth. I think the guy is amusing and he cracks me up but his overconfidence makes him say dumb shit sometimes. But since he so "real" as you like pointing out, let's see him stick to his word and not drop another CD ever again if Kanye outsold his ass. And ain't nothing wrong with diss records. However, if that's all that your career is based on then something's wrong. Think about it, when someone says 50, the first thing that pops outta people mouth is either he always dissing someone or he's a smart businessman. It's NEVER that he's a nice rapper or has great lyrics and he knows this. At best, 50 is an above average rapper. Someone like Mos Def would eat that nigga for breakfast.

@SniperK I think Jay shit didn't carry over because, frankly, Kingdom Come was kinda wack. And it hurt me sayin that cuz I been a Jay fan since I a lil kid.
