A new clue may have surfaced to help apprehend the murderer who shot and killed legendary Run-DMC DJ, Jam Master Jay.
Jam Master Jay, born Jason Mizell, was gunned down in his recording studio, 24/7, on October 30, 2002.
While no one has ever been named a suspect in the murder, Jam Master Jay’s best friend Randy Allen has revealed a new clue - his sister claims that the gunman had a tattoo on his neck.
According to Allen’s sister Lydia High, two men walked into the studio and one of them embraced Jay and then shot him.
The men allegedly came in an open studio door and one gunman allegedly pointed a gun to High's head, while the other man greeted Jam Master Jay and then shot him.
Allen says he was in a recording studio booth with a female singer before Jay was shot. He was listening to music with an unidentified female Indian singer, when he heard two gunshots.
Allen rushed into the main studio room, where he found Uriel "Tony" Rincon with a gunshot wound to the leg and Jam Master Jay dead. High claims that a career criminal from Queens named Tinard Washington and an unknown man walked into the studio and embraced Jay, before firing two shots.
The first one missed Jay and hit Rincon in the leg, while the second struck Jay in the back of the head, fatally wounding him.
Washington is currently incarcerated on burglary charges, but he has denied being present during the shooting.
He is also a person of interest in the murder of Randy "Stretch" Walker, an associate of Tupac Shakur's who was gunned down in Queens in 1995 during a machine gun fight.
Allen believes Rincon, who claims he was using the cell phone at the time of the shooting, can identify the second gunman.
“When I came in the studio, Mike B was standing there, the girl was standing there, Jay was playing the game, Tony was playing the game,” Allen told AllHipHop.com. “I said ‘What’s up Jay, Tony, hurry up and finish the game.’ All the people that know that I ain’t got nothing to do with it are motherf**kers I could never ever trust, because they ain’t revealing it, they are just holding it to themselves, so who the f**k are they?”
According to Allen, Jam Master Jay’s murderer is from the neighborhood he grew up in, Hollis Queens.
“What makes it worse is he is running around in the neighborhood,” Allen told AllHipHop.com. “People who live in Hollis where Jay came from, they might be scared or nervous and not wanting to say s**t as they don’t want that n***a coming around and shooting up their family; so they sit back and keep their mouth shut.”
