Cleveland Hip-Hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony recently recorded the "The Negro Leagues Anthem," the official anthem sanctioned by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

According to MLB.com, NLBM Marketing Director Bob Kendrick selected the track as he was assembling a compilation CD about "black baseball," which is being produced to raise funds for the museum.

"When I heard it, I was like, 'Wow, this is really good,'" Kendrick told MLB.com. "These young men did an outstanding job of interpreting the Negro League experience and embracing it and appreciating what that experience was about."

Kendrick stated that the group researched the subject matter prior to recording the anthem, which lent credibility to the track.

"They got a real understanding of what the struggles were, but also how talented these athletes were, as well," Kendrick continued. "They brought that out in this first track."

The museum is also being extremely selective about what artists and songs that will be included on the compilation.

"We've got complete control over content...This is about pride, and it is about the spirit that made the Negro Leagues so special."

I think we all get caught up thinking black culture is only hip hop and r and b. These negro league players, paved the way for every african american playing sports anywhere in the world today. So next time you're showing your refrigerator on cribs, remember that people worked there whole life just to be given a shot, let alone any decent money. Thats why Barry Bonds and them ough to be ashamed of themselves. Josh Gibson has over 900 homeruns and never got credit because he was black. Barry Bonds takes steroids, and beats the records of Black Men who didnt have the luxury of having synthetic bodies.

I'm from Cleveland 105 & St. Clair, and I can validate that all that they speak about is real.

with that said you should kill ya self..  Bone the biggest act from the city, and you talking that blasphemy!!!
you probably one of them haters from across the way who tried to shot up the video back in the day.
you don't represent ya own from the city, there's not many national acts from the city, you should be representing.

One.
