Rappers Get Ready For Super Tuesday Elections

Voters in twenty-four states across America will head to the polls tomorrow (February 5) in what is labeled "Super Tuesday," the biggest day in the process to choose candidates for the November presidential election.

The energy of Election 2008 has increased exponentially after the Iowa caucus kicked off on January 3, which saw Illinois Senator Barack Obama defeat the popular New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

Although Obama also won the state contest in South Carolina, Clinton still maintains a narrow lead in nationwide polls.

"I have been struggling," Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons admitted to AllHipHop.com when quizzed about his choice for president. "I’ve had Bill and Hillary Clinton’s personal phone number for 10 years, mobile numbers…my brain has been with Hillary Clinton a long time and I’m trying to get my heart…I met with Barack once."

Like Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy and The Los Angeles Times, Q-Tip, lead rapper for legendary Hip-Hop group A Tribe Called Quest, has firmly endorsed Barack Obama.

"I am endorsing Barack Obama because I feel that we can benefit greatly from a leader that offers sound judgment and experience rooted in the lives of real people," Q-Tip told AllHipHop.com. "We can change our economy. We can change our health care. We can change the course of the Iraq war. We can change our neighbor’s minds about nuclear weapons. The only way we can have this renaissance is with the Senator from Illinois as President of the United States. We are on the brink of moving past our stigmas and preconceived thoughts to make a substantive decision for change... The change is Barack Obama."

Gangster rapper Snoop Dogg has yet to make up his mind, but acknowledged that either Senator would be a positive change for The United States.

"I am not down with the republican party or the democratic party, I represent the gangster party," Snoop Dogg told Larry King during a recent appearance on Larry King Live.

"Whether it be him, a black man, or Hillary, a woman, either one to me is a great move for America because we need change, we need somebody in there that’s going to be about listening to the people and representing the people and I feel like both of the candidates will do that."

Most of the country is inline with Snoop Dogg’s political analysis.

According to a CBS/New York Times poll, the national race is deadlocked at 41 percent.

"I’m really, really leaning that way [towards Obama]," Bun B. told AllHipHop.com. I’m sitting back and seeing who’s going to do what."

Simmons, who admitted he is leaning towards Hillary and endorsed Republican candidates in the past, said he does not want another member of that party in the White House come November.

"I think it’s critical [that we have a Democrat in office]. If you look at the Republican debate, it’s an embarrassment to the American people to think that they want to go down these same horrible paths."

I FEEL LIKE WE ARE ALL GOING TO DO OUR PART BECAUSE WE ALL WANT CHANGE. REALLY WANT IT THIS TIME. I WANT OBAMA TO BE PRES AND CLINTON AS VICE PRES. THAT'S THE TICKET AND I HOPE IT COMES LIKE THAT. BUT EITHER WAY, THE BOTH OF THEM WILL BE ON THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET, [I HOPE] UNLESS HILLARY WINS THE NOMINATION AND BRINGS BILL BACK AS HER VICE. LMAO CIGARS WILL BE A GREAT INVESTMENT IF THIS HAPPENS. LOL

SERIOUSLY, I'M GLAD TO SEE SO MANY OF US GETTING OUT TO THE POLLS. 18-35, BLACK! WE NEEDS TO SHUT EM DOWN AND STOP ALL THE NEGATIVE TALK ABOUT OUR DEMOGRAPHIC.
