Duck Down Records has officially signed South Bronx Hip-Hop artists
KRS-One, who is preparing a new album with Boot Camp Clik member and
Duck Down CEO, Buckshot.

The pair have already recorded three new tracks for the album, which
according to Buckshot, is tentatively titled Conflosation.

The album will touch on a number of social and political issues,
including the New World Order, unemployment and poverty.

"It’s a dream to be able to work with Krs-One," Buckshot said. "Before I even began rapping that is who I checked for. I kept the Blue Print album on me at all times. That is all I listened to for an entire summer."

According to Duck Down Records' co-founder Dru Ha, KRS turned to the
label to bring a certain sound and production to the new album.

“To say we are honored and humbled would be an understatement," Dru Ha
added. "Buck and I have known KRS since our early days in the game, back when we were recording at D&D Studios and he directly influenced the name of the label with his song "Duck Down." He was also instrumental in one of Buck's first and biggest records as Da Beatminerz flipped the 'How Many MC's' vocal sample from KRS."

The album is slated to hit stores later this year on Duck Down Records.

In related news, Duck Down also signed DJ Revolution, who is preparing a new album, King of the Decks.

DJ Revolution, a legendary DJ and producer of the "Wake Up Show," has
worked with who's who of artists, ranging from Defari, Kanye West,
Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia, Buckshot, Smif N Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, Crooked I and others.

"Through this record I'll attempt to reconnect the DJ with Hip-Hop,
re-introduce the DJ to those who forgot what we really do and re-define what is possible in recorded music for the DJ as an artist," Revolution said.

DJ Revolution's King of The Decks album hits stores in fall 2008.

WOW!  That's some pretty big news.  I don't know if too many people are gonna care though.  People are more interested in people like Flo Rida and Shawty Lo.  But for hip hop, it's some good news.
