Producer QD3 has announced plans to release the first ever DVD biopic on the life and career of Lil Wayne.

The embryonic project aims to chronicle Wayne’s family background and what drives his famous work ethic.

“We at Young Money are thrilled to be working with QD3 on production of The Carter,” explained Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant to AllHipHop.com. “As Weezy’s manager and lifelong friend, I am excited to see Wayne’s story documented with truth and sincerity.”

Directed by Independent Spirit Award winner Adam Lough, the film also features exclusive interviews with Wayne and his close personal friends.

“Not only is Wayne the hottest musician in the business, but his life story reads something like a Hollywood script enabling this film to break boundaries,” Cortez continued. “And there’s no doubt this film will exceed any and all expectations. He’s a f**king rock star!”

QD3, born Quincy Jones III is also the creator of the highly successful Beef series.

Jones agrees that Wayne has achieved the status of an elite artist.

“In my career as a music/film producer I’ve been blessed to have worked with some of the best artists of our time including Tupac, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, and others,” QD3 elaborated. “Lil Wayne is definitely on that same level in that he is a true artist and he’s not afraid to push the envelope on any level which makes him original.”

With only one previous bio to his credit, Tupac Shakur’s Thug Angel, QD3 stressed that Wayne’s importance as an artist inspired him to make another biographical release.

“Our only bio to date is Tupac Shakur-Thug Angel,” he stated. “I think that speaks for the regard we have for Wayne’s position in music history as a classic artist. The goal is to go beyond a standard doc and create a theatrical product that will serve as the definitive documentation of Wayne’s life and career.”

The Carter film is scheduled for release in 2009.

ok.  a couple of things.

"he's a fuckin rock star!"
- does the white boy know how much that shit is stupidly ironic and corny at the same time?

"tupac, ll cool j, ice cube...lil wayne is definitely on that same level."
- how??  record sales?  years in the game?  artistry?  influence?  wrong on all counts.

"wayne's position in music history as a classic artist."
- i'm really laughin at you niggas that don't know the meaning of the word classic.  niggas throw that word around more than anything now.  fools.  let rich sickert tha critical mind lace you...

Yeah. Or u saw ur chance to lock up the deal that, in the furture, might be worth millions. But right now he's not on the same level.
If Wayne dies off that lean and then u made the biopic, it would be similar. But you might as well have picked Kanye, Jeezy, Snoop, Bone Thugs - who-the-fuck-ever - cuz he just happens to be hot right now.

QD3 could've at least waited until a time when Wayne is actually 'missed' before releasing such a biopic...right now I feel like Wayne is shoved down my throat all day everyday ---therefore even if there's some compelling/unknown aspect of his life story i'm not really interested.

Should be interesting.  I would much rather see an actual movie based off Wayne's life, like 8 Mile or Get Rich Or Die Tryin.  I think that would be hot and that it would offer more truth into his background.  Actually, if they did a movie, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw something in it about child abuse and molestation...and that's no diss to Wayne either.

But let's face it, there is something strange about kissing a man on the lips...and that man just so happens to be the same dude you call "Daddy."  I wouldn't be surprised if Baby molested Wayne when he was younger...hell, he took him under the wing when he was at least 11 years old.

But a documentary is not gonna tell all that.  A movie based loosely on his life would though.

all i can tell you is...STUDY HISTORY.  than maybe you'll get a sense of the impact pac and cube had on the game, not to mention LL.  and then you'll be able to place wayne in the right historical context.

STUDY.  you need to know about "jack the ripper".  you need to know about "radio".  you need to know about "rock the bells".  that's just a primer for you.  you need to dig deeper.

as far as every rapper saying they were influenced by the carters 10 years from now, maybe.  you the next generation, so it might be.  but still remember that every rapper stands on the shoulders of a tradition another has built.   you gotta know that tradition to understand why your preferences are what they are.

in other words, wouldn't be no "the carter" without "new jack city".  no "ca$h money millionaires" for that matter either.

The sole mention of Lil' Wayne + shot in a search engines always refers to this story:

These are the facts. Getting shot doesn't make you tough. Especially if you shot yourself. That just makes you or your parents irresponsible for leaving you in a position to handle a hndgun.

people are killin' me goin' to e-war for Lil' Wayne, that looks too much like a cult following or somethin' actin' like buddy saved your life. It's not that serious, he is a rapper. It's ok to rate the man as an artist, but everybody that don't vibe w/his music is not a "hater" they just don't like his music! And seems like Wayne has more respect for those who came before him than his own fans, ya'll could learn a lil' somethin' from Mr. Carter. Bottom line: his supporters are lookin' forward to a movie about his life (which will prob be HIS truth, not THE truth since QD3 is workin' wit CMR), and ppl who ain't feelin' Wayne will not be checkin' for this. I hear what folks on here are saying about Lil Wayne...

I'm actually a fan of Lil Wayne's...I feel homey's music, but I'll play both sides...

Wayne has developed somewhat of a "cult" following, ala Tupac Shakur when Pac got out and made All Eyez On Me.  Pac already had a following, but it went to a WHOLE other level when he got out of prison, because he went to war with Bad Boy, who had blown up while he was incarcerated (the drop of Biggie's album was TRULY the GROWTH of Bad Boy).

Wayne has that kind of following going right now, and he ain't even beefin' with folks.  I admit...Wayne ain't no Tupac.  Wayne is not on the level of a Pac, because Pac was thuggin' it out, going to war with the East Coast (even though it was really just Bad Boy and whoever RODE w/Bad Boy), shootin' off duty cops, etc.... I mean, shootin' off duty cops!  And gettin' away with it!?  But I digress...

This "new" culture that is following Lil Wayne are doing the same thing folks from my "teen" generation were doing with Biggie and Pac.  They feel this dudes music, whether you like it or not.  It's not that he really "stands" for anything in particular (Wayne does try with Black Girl Lost and Misunderstood...give him credit for that), while giving the masses the Lollipops and Mili's.  I mean, give the man credit where credit is due...he moved over a Million units in a week...and you know what that means?

It means he CROSSED OVER...he's not just gettin' that hood dollar, but he's gettin' that POP dollar...while being street with it...ala Biggie and Pac....ala Jay-Z.  It kills me that once an artists gets BIG, he all of a sudden is considered "rammed down people's throats", or on tv/radio too much.  What do you expect?  HE's HOT!  He might not be TO YOU, but he is to the masses.  And naturally, when you are hot in the masses, there will be those who will say how much they can't stand you.  And you know what I say?  LET THEM!  People are free to feel how they feel.  I mean, Lil Wayne is hot, but he ain't in my top 5.  But I tell you what....his cd gets MAD rotation in the cd player...dude's a beast with the word play.  Period.

Reminds me of when Jay blew up, and people were like "he's not that nice"...or when Nas blew up, and then fell off, and then people jumped back on his bandwagon because he went at Jay.  I mean...folks...

Music is music!  It's not meant to be on some who's right and who's wrong...it's all about what you prefer....

Just let it be....

Lil Wayne gettin' that Young Money....just congratulate, and if you don't like him, keep it movin'.  If you do, keep it movin:)

Pac the Greatest...Biggie the Greatest...(I'm a Gemini, so I can do that!  Haha....)

Lil Wayne is the HOTTEST in the game RIGHT NOW....numbers don't lie.  He's not a Pac or Biggie...he's not an LL or Rakim...He's not an Nas or Eminem...He's not Jay....

He's just HIM...period.
