Building on the success of last year’s VH1 reality, Sandy “Pepa” Denton has announced Let’s Talk About Pep, her autobiography now set for release through VH1 Books.

“This is the real Pepa,” Denton disclosed in a statement to AllHipHop.com. “And this is the memoir of a true pioneer, fighter, survivor, and inspiration to women everywhere.”

The tell-all book will chronicle Pepa’s life; from her troubled early years as a victim of child abuse to her adult struggles in marriage (to fellow rap star Treach), divorce, and domestic violence.

Salt-n-Pepa’s twenty plus year career is also extensively covered, including previously undisclosed details regarding the trio’s acrimonious split in 2002 and recent reunion through reality television.

Salt-n-Pepa formed in 1985 and quickly made a name with a diss entitled “The Show Stopper,” an answer record to Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick’s “The Show.”

The following year, their debut album Hot, Cool, and Vicious reached platinum behind the momentum of the classic single “Push It.”

The group obtained their highest success with 1993’s Very Necessary, which went 5 times Platinum, powered by the Top 5 Billboard singles “Whatta Man,” and “Shoop.”

Let’s Talk About Pep was written in conjunction with New York Times bestselling author Karen Hunter, who has also assisted LL Cool J, Wendy Williams, and Queen Latifah with their biographies.

The book’s forward and epilogue will be handled by Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah respectively.

Let’s Talk About Pep is scheduled for release in September.

I remember seeing the previews for this show Salt was on some ol' "am not doing this, I am too grown." she turned right around and did a whole show. "fakery"

I dink know if I want to read a Pepa book. I can imagine it would read like this:

Chapter 1: Where I grew up

Chapter 2: how I got into the music buisness & met salt/spinderella

Chapter 3: my marriage to a rapper

    Chapter 4: my life now ( as a mother/entrepeneur)

See I saved y'all $13.00.....equivalent to 2.5 gallons of gas!!!! LOL

    It's true y'all can't front.

First and foremost big up's and much respect allhiphop I love the site. Do your thing. I am a 31 year old African American male who spent 5 1/12 in prison. While incarcerated I was able to obtain my GED as well as an associate degree. Upon my release in 2004 I enrolled into a Bachelor degree program and successfully completed my B.A. in Psychology. Today I work for a well known university and I'm currently finishing up my Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology and I was just accepted into the Doctorate Program for counseling. Now I am not just writing this for a pat on the back or anything, but I have been sending mad emails to the allhiphop staff for a interview. Yet i get no response so to allhiphop staff reading this i will not stop sending emails until someone gives me a chance to speak. I love this site and have been rocking with you guys for a minute. So i will not stop emailing and posting until I have a chance to share my story with allhiphop readers. The young people on this site need to here words of wisdom from someone other than a rapper or actor. Again, Much respect to allhiphop, my next step is to youtube and ask for an interview. So allhiphop staff give me a chance to speak to the fans of this site. love and respect

The ironic thing is. They say they want all this natural on chicks and what not. Yet, they praise and drool all over these video chicks and models. Who definately aren't what they look like on TV. And had way more plastic surgery and altterations tot heir bodies, than anything Pepa has had done.
