P. Miller Reflects on Katrina, Effects of Gustav

New Orleans residents had reason to rejoice yesterday (September 1) as a diminished Hurricane Gustav only caused minor damage in a city still rebuilding from the destruction of Katrina three years earlier.

On Friday forecasters ominously warned that Hurricane Gustav, which ravaged Cuba and Jamaica, would grow to a Category 4 storm on the 5 point scale, before hitting the Louisiana coast.

In preparation New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin enacted a mandatory evacuation of the city, hoping the rebuilt levees would prove strong enough to prevent the city from suffering any major devastation.

The levees did hold, due to Gustav arriving weaker than expected as a Category 2 storm.

Still, the hurricane hurt the city’s sewer system and left 1 million homes without power.

Despite the damage, entertainment mogul and Ninth Ward native P. Miller (p/k/a Master P) was thankful his community was spared the repeat nightmare of another Hurricane Katrina, which killed 1,600 people in 2005.

“It definitely had my people on edge and reminiscing on what happened with Katrina,” Miller told AllHipHop.com. “This is something you can’t really challenge or stop. It’s nature. We’re just praying for the best.”

City, state, and federal governments were better prepared this hurricane season, working together to ensure that 95% of the city was evacuated before the storm hit Monday morning.

With the third anniversary of Katrina just passing on August 23-30, P states his community still struggles to make sense of the aftermath, as thousands of displaced residents are still living in FEMA trailers.

“It’s almost like a curse. You look back and say ‘wow, it’s only been three years and here it is happening again,” Master P reflected. “This is a serious matter and time for change. Before the people come back into the city we have to figure out how to make these levees work to where they don’t break anymore.”

Early reports indicate there was no flooding, but several traffic lights, lights poles, and trees had been blown down.

At press time, city officials are holding off on bringing residents back into the city until the full damage is accessed.

According to Mayor Nagin, this process will cover the next several days and be concluded by week’s end.

Yes I heard of it and like your other cosigner. I wouldn't doubt it.
They blew the levees during the Katrina. The ones near the ninth ward to save this levee that's trying to breech now. And the one which protects the French Quarter. All of it's suspect to me. But like P. Miller says is how I feel too. It's a reoccurring nightmare. I refuse to rebuild in Plaquemine until they fix braithwaite. [private levee]. The thing is only like 8 feet. WTF? And Plaq is the lowest lying parish in the N.O. area. You can see the Oil refin's and some rigs from, well, where the back porch was. Wetlands too. I think it's a conspiracy going on. Of course I do. I'm doing my best to come up with a thesis that sticks. But I have to keep my computers from getting fried before I can finish my research. :smh:

If they would've got Dutch engineers 2 rebuild our levee system n the 1st place then we wouldn't have 2 b as concerned as we were.Sad shit is...some of them shits r still left undone & have been over due 4 decades.Nstead of gettin the shit finished all those yrs.ago, the politicians ain't do shit but pocket the money that was supposed 2 go 2wards it.Then when Katrins hit they blew the levees & accessed it as wind damage 2 avoid insurance having 2 come off all the money they were supposed 2 bcuz they needed 2 create a loop hole & they knew majority of us only had flood insurance on our homes.Y get wind insurance n a place where tornadoes seldom occur, feel me.They have loop holes & ways 2 get out off everything & they will never take accountability 4 anything no matter how responsible they r the government is never wrong & when they r & they can't wash there hands of a particular situation, only 1 man will take the fall who's fault it might not have been cuz he was just following orders from the president  but the president won't take the fall & the government won't b held responsible.4 more insight on what went down during Katrina click my name & listen 2 the song "Hurt Again"don't sleep on it cuz it's the truth.Oh & 1 more thing,Master P/P Miller isn't from the 9th ward,he's from the Caliope Projects 3rd ward CP3 ya heard me.Uptown where yall @ I c yall.

Purpletreez: No disrespect Brotha, but before you dismiss the HAARP techgology as being a non-factor I suggest you read a bit about the topic. Our govt. is capable of all types of shit. Never underestimate what powermongers will do.

Here's just two of many links related to HAARP and Katrina.

    Hurricane Katrina & HAARP Technology

    http://www.youtube.com/v/4ZdRFWXAK_g&hl=en

I Lawrence Harmen (Abbaswatchman.com) was, just last week, traveling through Winnipeg Canada and after 22 years as a tractor trailer driver I took notice of the clouds just before a storm on my way home and I knew with 100% certainty that Haarp was being used to manipulate the weather here in Canada as these clouds were clearly man made and not at all natural looking. I have no degree in science but as a 22 year observer of the sky I do know when I see something in the sky that stands out as Weather manipulation versus naturally occurring cloud formations and the rough wispy clouds I witnessed were the same In Calgary two weeks ago Just prior to a large hail storm and at that time I made note 15 minute prior to the Hail falling that those clouds have been responsible for some very severe weather with the example Large hail storms and tornados and minutes later I was witness to a 1/2 hour hail storm . 1 month earlier in a small city of Canmore Alberta Canada I was again witness to the same cloud formations and I made the same comments minutes prior to the same event but on a much larger scale of hail as it covered the parking lot and smashed out a tractor window.

Now I find these video which are the same as Just before the China Earthquake .... The U.S. is controlling the weather and trying to take over the world through Haarp. We are on the door step of WWIII as China and Russia launched their Nuclear submarines Just after the Earthquake in China. Ezekiel 38 / 39 are about to happen looks clearly to be in response to the U.S. and Israel's air attack on Syria and Iran that they are preparing for soon possible on Sept 11 Th 2008 . Watch for at least two more massive earthquakes around the world maybe in Russia and another one in China as a warning to stay out of it or else.

lol, it does look a little to loose don't it...maybe it's the way he's sitting..
@ the subject at hand, if I was from New Orleans I wouldn't even wanna live there no more. Everytime a bad storm is coming they're goin to make people evacuate, who wants to live like that? Why is it going to take them til 2011 to finish the levees? I've seen them build an entire hospital from the ground up here in less than 2 yrs. I don't know bout HAARP but somethin aint right.....
