Barack Obama First African-American President Of U.S.; Rappers React

With sixty-percent of the votes counted, Barack Obama has made history, becoming the first African-American President of United States of America.

He is the 44th man to hold the highest office in American government. The Democratic candidate has carried at least 297 Electoral College votes, 27 more than needed to be declared President.

Within less than an hour, that projected number jumped to 338 votes for President-Elect Barack Obama, versus Republican candidate John Mc Cain's 155.

“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dreams of our founders are alive in our time, who still questions the power of out democracy, tonight is your answer,” the President-Elect stated to supporters who had waited for hours in Chicago’s Grant Park for just this moment.

Shortly after the announcement, McCain addressed his supporters in his home state of Arizona, informing them that he had just concluded a conversation in which he congratulated his opponent.

“I won’t spend a moment of the future wondering what might have been,” said Senator McCain during his concession speech. “This campaign was, and will remain, the great honor of my life. My heart is filled with nothing but gratitude for the experience and to the American people for giving me a fair hearing before deciding that Senator Obama and my old friend Senator Joe Biden should have the honor of leading us for the next four years. I wish Godspeed to the man who was my opponent, and will now be my President.”

Exit polls across the country indicate that the largest constituency contributing to Senator Obama’s victory are 18-35 year olds who are brand loyal to Hip-Hop culture.

“The vision of the Hip-Hop generation and its young people is in full and glorious effect tonight,” Russell Simmons told AllHipHop.com. “While many older Americans, who marched and struggled so hard so Senator Obama could run for president of the United States never dared to believe in his candidacy's real potential, young people, particularly the hip-hop community, had faith and their imagination became our reality.”

The major television networks are all reporting that in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Connecticut, 18-29 year olds voted in record numbers, choosing Barack Obama as their next president.

"This is the proudest day of my life," exclaimed Sean "Diddy" Combs to AllHipHop.com shortly after the announcement.

This year, first time voters made up 11% of the millions of voters who cast a ballot either way.

"I just thank God that I am here today to see this," free speech/rap pioneer Luther Campbell told AllHipHop.com. "I knew this day was coming the first day I went to jail, when I was told white kids were buying my songs, I knew this day would come. I am so happy me and my wife gave to him [Obama] from day one. Today there is no more black and white in the U.S.A. We are one."

Early poll results indicated that more than 45 million voters elected the new president.

“Americans we did it,” an excited Killer Mike told AllHipHop.com. “We put aside fear, racist ideals and bigotry and we fulfilled an American dream. We fulfilled Martin's dream, a dream in which a nation of one group [that] was brought here shackled in servitude [and] has produced a man with the character to unify a struggling nation. A nation of former slaves and slave masters, a nation of former and current immigrants. He will be what Roosevelt, Kennedy and Lincoln were: a unifier for this great nation we call America. In the words of that great American philosopher Don King, 'God Bless America, Baby!'”

SMH @ Jesse Jackson. I know he saw some on the crazy things that happened to black people over his life time and I do believe that he is really touched that he lived to see a black man elected to president, I feel him. But how dare he stand with tears and he never supported him. He was for Hilary and then made the comments about wanting to cut his balls off. I cant be mad at him or anyone else right now. I'm overjoyed. We did it.

Goldenblaze - You almost got it right...lol...you off a lil bit with that quote tho.  We get it...

Go462 - I don't think you can truly comprehend what type of emotions Obama was going through as he came on that stage.  Lost his grandma, his mom didn't get to see this, his Dad didn't get to see this, every counted him out against Hillary, etc, etc...

Oh, and of course, HE'S THE 1ST BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE US!

Yeah, I'd say it sunk in.  I'd say he's a bit relieved, but he's also PROUD.

He's proud he's carrying on the legacy of MLK, of Medgar Evars, of the late Malcolm X.

    You sound slightly sarcastic imo...

But you don't walk in those shoes, so maybe you can't relate...

To the folks who are hating on Jesse Jackson...

1st, let me start by saying I don't condone what Jesse said about cutting Obama's nuts off or what not.  Not classy, and not cool.

    BUT...

That doesn't give us a RIGHT to try and hang this man.  The reason people like him, like Oprah are crying, is because they have LIVED the struggle.  They KNOW what it's like to be treated as less than human.  They KNOW what it's like to either SEE or personally be attacked by dogs...sprayed with hoses...etc, etc...

Jesse was there when MLK was murdered...come on now.  If he DIDN'T cry, then maybe I would be worried, or even judgemental.  I can't imagine the feelings that man is going through right now...

    It must be amazing...

Its gonna be some real sicc muthafuckas walkin around tommorow. I was watching election coverage when the news broke at 11pm CST. I wasn't sure how to react to the news but i can tell you after Obama's speech I have been laughing uncontrollably ever since. It's been 221 years of waiting for this moment and I'm glad I got to see this in my lifetime. My son and I are going to Washington D.C, on January 20th, 2009 to watch Barack Obama be sworn in as our 44th president. John McCain gave a wonderful concession speech, even though the bitter losers in his camp yelled immature slogans while he was speaking. If John had been as real as he was during that speech, there might have been a different outcome tonight. The American people were tired of all this bullshit politics and fear tactics that they voted for the better candidate. Again if you didn't vote, democrat or republican, fuck you straight up. You don't have the right to discuss politics. I'm out.

I hate to be the one to ruin the party but WE haven't done anything. Barack Obama has made change and history. So many of you are so quick to want to be a part of the celebration but you are nowhere to be found during the stuggle. This man has came from the same situations that many of us face everyday but he overcame his obstacles. On the other hand the majority of us won't take any strides toward a better day for our race. We are the most selfish race of people on this earth. How is it that we won't turn in drug dealers or killers due to fear or the loyalty for our hood but Obama can put his life on the line for all of us. We need to wake up and say hey, I'm not going to be illegal, I'm not going to jail, I'm going to get a job or two, I'm going to take care of my kids, support black people and their businesses.

All of you please let me know when WE have done this. It will be only then that you can say WE HAVE DONE IT!
WE have just started our journey. Are you with us?

OH MY GOD!!!! This is SO awesome and amazing, finally, finally after so long I am inspired by the US. Congratulations from Australia guys, I am back to being jealous of your citizenship for the first time in a long time! Much love. This is truly a great thing, not just for African Americans but for the world. For too long leaders have unashamedly put profits before people and ignored those without power or in the minority. I too have a dream and I think it's starting  to come true!!! GO OBAMA!!

That's really encouraging to hear you say that.  My seven year old son told me one month ago that he knew what he wanted to be when he grew up.  I asked him what and he said he wanted to be the President of the United States.  I'm sure if Barack was to actually read your comment he would be proud.  I hope more men of color stand up and build up our communities instead of plotting to tear them down with hatred and jealousy.  This is the time for us to come together and move forward as men.  Always be a leader and not a follower.

it saddened everyone around tho cuz we could see it in his eyes that something about his presence changed and seemed less enthusiastic. my defense was he's in shock. i wasnt focusing on his speech i was looking at him like damn barack i know you're in shock and thinking why couldnt my parents and grandparents be here. like i said in yestedays rumors page regarding his grandmothers death, its going to be a trip if he wins the election and the day before she died. and exactly what you said, mother died while he was young, barely knew his father, grandmother passed away the day before the election. it truly is bittersweet.
and yes i walk in those shoes. the way my people were called terrorists after 9/11 and senselessly killed for looking a certain way is the same kind of struggle any minority faces and has faced. black people weren't the only ones oppressed in history so yea i walk in those shoes.

I know I'ma catch flack for this from some of the brothas on here.  I know I would probably have a few choice words or jokes for what I'm bout to write...but I can't help it...

    I woke up today...

    and....

    I cried.

I swear.  I woke up, and it was almost surreal.  It felt so far out of left field, that I couldn't control myself.  Cried like a big baby.

    Why?

I cried because in my head, all I could really hear was Sam Cooke's "Change Gon Come"...

It was playing over, and over, and over in my head.

And as it played, I could see Brotha Martin, who did all he could with his life before it was cut down.  And even knowing that, he took that loss so brothas like Obama could succeed.

I cried because I thought of Brotha Malcolm, Medgar, Marcus, Rosa Parks, Benjamin Banneker, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, Ida Wells, W. E. B. DuBois, Zora Neale Hurston, those lil girls in Birmingham, Langston Hughes, Margaret Walker, Lorraine Hansberry, John Lewis, Jesse Jackson, Carole Moseley-Braun, Cynthia McKinney, Bobby Seale, Geronimo Pratt, Marian Anderson, Maya Angelou...

The one person though, who probably conjures this emotion I'm feeling the most is my Nanny, who didn't make it to see this day.  She passed on Jan. 28th, 2004.  6 months later, I watched Barack at the DNC of that year, and I was floored.  I only wished my Grandmother could have seen a black man create the type of atmosphere he did that night with his words...words that were so powerful.  What I saw last night is something I wish I could have shared with her...my emotions have me choked up as I write this.

It's just amazing...and I think I feel this way because I don't care what anyone believes...regardless of the people who feel it's a "mockery", or a conspiracy, or whatever you may want to call it...this BLACK MAN has become the Pres. Of The United States!

And it's a beautiful thing.  There is a TON of work to do.  When Martin said he had a dream, he was still thinking deeper and more far-stretching than just someone like Barack becoming President.  He saw our neighborhoods being the cornerstone and backbone of what a village is supposed to be.  The place where brothas and sistas could walk in Unity.  We have a LONG journey ahead of us, regardless of Brotha Obama winning.

We have to look within us to build upon this momentum.

    But today...today I rejoice...

Because I don't care how you look at it...this is MONUMENTAL...

    This is epic...

    This is LIVING HISTORY.

I think what crosses my mind just as much are the lil kids I read to every Thursday.  The lil boy and lil girl who come to my table so full and bright...full of hope, full of energy, knowing they can really, truly, be anything they want.  They always could, and now they have another example of success.

I don't care what anyone says...

Completely stunning, just feels unreal. When I think of all the things I'm old enough to have really seen and experienced from phenomenal athletes like Jordan, Montana, Bo Jackson, Magic plus seeing the birth of Hip Hop and so many other "firsts" for our people, black people I feel very fortunate. But today put all of those things in perspective and in the clear rear-view. We have more than a Black president we have someone the people really wanted and if this doesn't inspire you, then you're not human. Now maybe I can convince the young men in my program to pull up their pants and act more presidential. Congrats to the new First Family and congrats to us, Barack can only do so much the rest is on us to get our shit together.

So I'm on my way to work this morning and I'm still trying to absorb all of the events from last night.  Had it not happened before my very eyes, you would not have been able to convince me that I would live to see a black president.  As I am analyzing what has transpired, 2 words keep flashing in my head.  Symbolic Perception.  Let those 2 words marinate for a second and think about this.  No matter what you believe to be the true nature of things or if you take interest in conspiracies, religion, politics, etc............none of it changes the underlying SYMBOLIC nature of this moment.  Barack Obama should stand as the ultimate symbol of what is attainable w/ education, hard work, perserverance, understanding and the ability to manipulate how the world PERCEIVES you.  From this point on, all of our EXCUSES are null in void.  I am not saying that the obstacles will magically disappear because they will always exist.  What I am saying though is that for decades race and the associated perception/stigma attached has been our greatest psychological crutch.

Our people have been on a self destructive auto pilot.....condoning/co-signing a PERCEIVED predictament/fate that only serves to further poison our minds.  We have been our own worst enemies.  We have tried to justify our own negative actions by placing ALL of  the blame on "the system", "the man", "the next n***a", etc.  Even when these arguments have validity.....that still does not change the end goal and what has to be done to reach it.  Obama has been called a lot of things, but the only thing, imo, that really matters is that he is a SYMBOL.

With that said, he has played his role up to this point...but at the end of the day, him being elected president doesn't change any of the underlying problems in our country.  There will still be gangs, violence, drugs, poverty, homelessness, etc.  In his speech last night he said that he would need our help to make a change.  In all honesty....we are the only ones that can make that change.  The problems in our communities are our own responsibility at the end of the day.  We cannot sleep on this symbolic victory and go back to our day-to-day bullshit.  Your whole perception of what is possible should have changed last night.......regardless of how it came to be.   The same unity that everyone has shown during this election process should not fade away tomorrow or be taken for granted.  Nothing of value is achieved w/o hard work and knowledge on how to pimp the system to work in your favor.  Congratulations to Obama and fam.  History has been made.

That's what's up. We made history. I've seen alot of things in my lifetime that my kids will learn about in school and in the history books, and I'm only 28. That means alot to me to tell my son who's 3 that I voted for the first black president, how it was something we all came together and did because we were fed up, and how when his generation is facing tough times they'll be able to look back at this moment and be inspired. I'm proud of my people. I'm proud as a man. I'm proud as a Black Man!

I hope that we stay inspired to create real change. I hope that this allows more people to get focused because they see that there is a chance, no matter what the odds are or just because somethings never been done doesn't mean it never will be.

The dopest shit i've seen thus far in papers and media is the Post cover which simply says... "Mr. President"

    Mccain’s Thanksgiving or Mccain's Christmas
After loosing the elections to Obama. John Mccain goes home with hope of having a wonderful Thanksgiving with his immediate family. Mccain flew into his hometown on his private jet but when he reached the airport, his usual guest didn’t greet him. There weren’t any balloons, the bands weren’t playing or crowds weren’t cheering. This was unusual, he didn’t even see Sarah Palin. He looked into the distance but all he could see was snow and his cold breath in the air. He looked at his secret service and even they looked shocked about what was happening. For 40 years his town greeted him every Thanksgiving, so WHAT HAPPENED.

He looked at his wife and gave her a smile then said, “Moneys been tight this year for everyone baby. Maybe the town couldn’t afford a celebration this year”

Mrs. Mccain looked at her husband with her devilish grind, “You’re probably right baby. Everyone can’t afford the things we have!”

Mccain grabbed his wife arm and helped her through the snow. He looked at his wife then said, “At least we still have our limo!”

Mccain’s limo was black and warm inside. The bar was filled with Champaign, just like years before. His secret service followed the limo in their black Yukon. Mccain could see despair in his wife’s eyes. He looked at her and said this while he rubbed her thigh, “Baby, I’m still your little P.O.W, right”

Mrs. Mccain’s wife batted her eyes then ran her finger thru Mccain’s  hair and gave him a hug as he continued to rub her thigh, “You are my little soldier. Don’t worry!”

Mccain leaned back in his leather seats proud of what he just heard. But when he looked out his window it all disappeared, “What’s going on here?”, Mccain yelled.

Mrs. Mccain rushed to the window because she wanted to see. But what she saw she couldn’t believe, “Why do everyone in your town have Obama campaign signs in there yards!’

Mrs. Mccain looked at John and she immediately knew he was scarred. His eye lit up like a deer staring into your headlights, “I can’t believe it. My own people voted for Obama. What’s going on?”

Alarms kept ringing in John’s ears as he looked out the window and things slowly started to become clear. Most of the people he knew was in Obama’s below 250 thousand dollar tax bracket. While Mccain was trying to help the rich, he was forgetting about the poor. This is something that Republicans have done thousands of times before. As Mccain’s thoughts lingered as his wife started to screaml..

Mrs. Mccain, “What the hell did you do? You lost to a black man. Now our lives are ruined. No one will ever remember you for being a prisoner of war. Now everyone will look at us and laugh. And our friends want come to our parties or to any of our functions because you were the first White Republican Man to loose to a Black Democrat.”

Mccain couldn’t believe what was ringing in his ears. He looked at his wife because he felt like he had to make things clear, “LooK!”, pointing, “This race wasn’t about color. I lost to a great man. A-----smart guy!”

Mrs. Mccain laughed, “You lost to a Smart Guy… You lost to a great man”,  She paused, “You didn’t say that when you were running around calling him a terrorist. You didn’t say that when you made allegations that Obama was a socialist or he wasn’t fit to be President for the last 23 months”

John looked his wife dead in her eyes, “Now you listen here. I only said those things because your family was about to be taxed because of his policies, if your family loose money then I loose money. I didn’t marry you for only your body, Baby. I married you for power and your family seen me as an opportunity to increase their power.”

Mrs. Mccain was furious about what she just heard. Her eyes was red and her vision was blurried, “You little short dwarf. I know you are angry right now, so I’m going to act like I didn’t hear what you just said. But remember one thing! I made you and I’ll break you… Believe it..You had a chance to get power but you lost, I never lost and I can changed your world with a flick of the wrist”

John looked at her but he couldn’t figure out what he was seeing, “Who is this bitch”, he whispered. Like the old saying goes. Behind every strong man there is a stronger woman. Now while the Mccain’s argued the driver sat up front with his own ideas. He turned on his bullhorn so everyone outside could hear. Young kids threw snow balls as the limo riding by. An old lady with a walker stood on the sidewalk and held her middle finger up high. Other yelled, “Mccain’s a Liar!” loud and clear. Even the secret service trailed and started to cheer. The driver kept peeping from his ringside seats, hoping that the Mccains will continue to tickle his ears. When he notice nothing was happening he took a sudden turn. He knew where he could go and Mccain would burn. From uptown to downtown brick homes turned into projects then the silence finally cleared. The driver heard John whisper something in Mrs. Mccain’s ear, “I think we are in the ghetto. Be quiet. Maybe they want see us.”

Hundreds of young minority was standing outside. Each one trying to keep warm as they stood by the barn fires. Broken windows and trash was everywhere. This was all knew to John so he couldn’t help to stare. John pressed the inner com button to get the drivers attention, “Driver…Driver”

The driver started to giggle. He took a deep breath to calm down, he slowly rolled his window down, then turned to face the Mccains, “Yes, Sir.. How can I help you?”

To the drivers surprise John didn’t even ask why were they there. John’s first words pierced his ears loud and clear, “Do these people really live in these condemn homes?”

“Yes, Sir. Most of the people here can’t afford to buy Thanksgiving dinner and keep their lights on at same time. A lot of them choose to live in the dark during these times just to be able to buy their kids clothes and toys for Christmas or a couple of families will get together so everyone can have one big Thanksgiving.”

The McCain’s finally could see what Obama was trying to do, “Do you mean these people are struggling that bad?”

The driver continued to help the McCains as best as he could. “First, sir, no disrespect but you shouldn’t refer to any group of people as these people. Some people will refer to your comments as racist or disrespectful. We are all struggling Mr. Mccain. See your policies would have giving the rich exactly what they wanted but Obama was just trying to say in his campaign that the rich had their turn and they became richer as we became poorer. Obama was just trying to get you to understand that if Bush gave the rich 8 years to become richer, then why the poor can’t have 4 years of the same privilege. You took his words “Spreading the wealth” the wrong way and tried to use it against him but you couldn’t change the minds of the men and women that knew exactly what Obama was explaining. Only the men and women that never seen poverty first hand believed you, but  Obama wasn’t trying to reach that 5 percent anyway, so your bashing didn’t matter.”

It didn’t matter to Mrs. Mccain, she was still filled with fear. “Don’t be scared, Mr. Mccain. The images that you’ve probably learned to live with over the course of your life aren’t the people you see before you. Most of the men and women that committed crimes were actually trying to find away to feed their families in a world that they couldn’t see or find hope. I know plenty of men and women that have done the same thing they learned from your poor fathers. They took from the one to feed another. I think that’s the same thing your ancestors did to the Indians or what your people did when they in slaved my people. See if your teachers didn’t over look some for the important parts of history you would know that most of my people are doing exactly what their ancestors taught them and which your ancestors taught my ancestors. Now we are trying to overcome this mental battle. Majority of my people have found a way into a new life style but the majority of my people that are still stuck in your project, trailer courts or slums are trying to overcome the bait your people are placing in these areas. Instead of imprisoning the man that’s bringing drugs into our neighborhood you are imprisoning my people but that doesn’t stop the next person from taking the bait because your drugs are still ending up in my neighborhood. You have men and women that are trying to put food on the table, the easiest way possible. So stop allowing the easiest way possible to cross our boarders and enter our communities, then my people will be forced to go to school or get jobs, instead of falling for the miss belief that the only way we can get out the ghetto is to sell drugs.”

John still stared in disbelief, “I didn’t allow drugs into the country!”

The driver replied, “You’re right you didn’t allow drugs into our country but your laws and the tactics allow drugs to make it’s way into my neighborhood. Your laws take away my people freedom but never take away the freedom of the drug cartels that are making this cycle possible. You’ll let one man at the top of the food chain give you information of the drug deals that are working for him or her then let that particular person go free. WHY? When he or she is the cause of the problem.”

John Mccain, “I never seen it that way!”

    The driver replied, “I know!”

John Mccain, “We’ve seen enough. Take me home!”

It wasn’t a long drive from downtown to uptown but it was enough time for the Mccains to reflect on what they just seen. John Mccain whispered, “Honey. I never really been to the ghetto.”  “I’ve never been there either”, Mrs. Mccain replied. Before another word could be spoken they were finally on familiar grounds. Mccain remember the brick homes and remembered the sounds. The sounds of caroler singing Christmas cheers but he still couldn’t believe the sight because Obama sings even made it here. Even his parents removed the Mccain sign just to fit in. John was so down the his wife road in on his chin. When John entered his moms home everyone was there. But no one yelled welcome home. No one cheered like holidays before. The only thing you could hear was the dog’s snore and his uncle’s heaves. John listened closer and he finally heard Joe Mccain laughing in a room that was nearby. For some strange reason John crept close by. He wanted to see why Joe’s laughter was so high. It wasn’t a surprise but John hated the news. He over heard his brother say, “I didn’t vote for Mccain either. I voted for Obama too.” John opened the door and his brother was suddenly filled with guilt and silence. John didn’t repeat what he heard and Joe didn’t try to explain but when John and his wife entered the room everyone could see that John was about to bust a vein.  John stared into everyone’s eyes the kids laughed and the baby cried. His mother giggled and his father turned away. “Dad, why?” “I told your wife to tell you that you shouldn’t try the same Bush approach. I told her that if you followed in Bush’s footsteps then you’d lose voters, because everyone hated the sight of Bush. What did you expect to accomplish from a man who lied to start a war and still killed Sadam for nothing? What did you plan to do? Did you think the world was going to make you an exception?” John could say one thing, “But I thought our people wasn’t ready for changed. Bush was horrible but they voted him for president for a second term.”

“You desired to get burned by the route you took”, John’s father replied.

Joe sat back, listened and laughed. Then all of a sudden the dog let out gas “FART!” As the sound of laughter clogged the walls John looked around and saw his kingdom fall. Joe admitted his guilt, “I didn’t even vote for you, John. I didn’t like the man you’ve become. You’ve always been the man who stood on his own two feet. But you became a man stuck in Bush’s shadow. I understood that you trying to gain ground by standing beside Bush in the beginning but you waited to long to break loose. You should have cut you ties with Bush after he was voted into the white house for his second term. That would have given you time to rebuild your image and show the world that you are your own man. But instead you waited until your last debate between you and Obama, which was too late. You were left with 5 weeks to build this new MCCAIN, but you were showing the country that you were loosing, and trying any tactic to win, which wasn’t a good look. A man that’s willing to do anything to win is a dangerous man. A dangerous man doesn’t have a place in the white house because if you are willing to do anything to win now, then what are you willing to do when we are in war. You will destroy the entire world in order to win. That was the MCCain the world saw. The new and dangerous man”

Joe’s wife looked at John’s wife then said her peace, “John you were trying to take advantage of the female votes by picking Sarah Palin as your running mate. But what you really showed us that you are really more like Bush than you think. If appeared that you used the same approach Bush used to end the war against Husan and begin a war again Sadam. You used Sarah as a pond to keep everyone from thinking about your age and health. See while everyone was spending their time trying to figure out Sarah, we were forgetting an important factor about your campaign. Your age! You are 77 years old, John. Now if something happened to you then we are left with a woman that doesn’t have any experience and no knowledge. She’ll be lead by the rich and greedy to take the United States deeper in debt to make themselves richer. I use to walk with my head in the air knowing my brother in law is a famous man but know I have to stand on my own and tell people that I meet that I didn’t vote for you either.” John’s wife and uncle stood smiling in the background.

    John, “What’s so funny?”

Mrs. Mccain, “At least no one said they hate you because you lost to a blackman. I guess you were right, John. But you’re still a loser.”

John walked over to his wife then tried to point his finger into her face but he couldn’t reach her, “I’ll deal with you later, Satan.”

Mrs. Mccain laughed in John’s face, “You better get you weight up before you put your finger in my face. I told you I don’t have to take your shit. You can keep your losing ass right her with your losing family. I’m going to a nearby hotel. (Pause) I wouldn’t be missing one thing to night sleeping alone, since you can’t rise to the occasion anyway, Loser.”

John watched through the window as his wife rushed out the house and jumped back into the limo, “Okay, I know I should have went a different route but my family still should have stood beside me. I stood behind Joe the plumber and I stood for the little guy too.”

Joe shouted, “Oh shout up! You need to get off your high horse and face reality. Your wife is leaving you and you have to enter the work force next week. Now you are one of us. We no longer have to look up to you like you’re some king and we’re your slaves. You have lost your crown, Little John. You can’t ride that “I’m a Prisoner of War”  anymore. Welcome to my life. Come to think about! (Pause) You can come and work for me. Or maybe Joe the Plummer will give you a job since you’re defeat is his success.

John Mccain, “I know you are glad that I was defeated. But that doesn’t matter to me. I only came here to get away from all the media and spend time with my family. My campaign is over and I can’t correct the mistakes that I’ve made so let move on.”

Everyone began to laugh. “You still haven’t changed one bit, John. We’ll enjoy our Thanksgiving and leave your matter alone (pause) for now.”

Yesterday was the best day of my life. I dont have kids, not married so yesterday, November 4 2008, was it. I was hugged by strangers. Cried with people I never met in my life and saw two grown men that didnt know each other cry and embrace. Im still crying because I think about all those people who fought, marched, bled, and died for this moment. I think about MLK’s last speech when he talked of a promise land and how he KNEW he wouldnt make it with us but we would get there, with or without him. THE AUDACITY OF HOPE! When the most staunch Republican is emotional and understands this moment, its amazing. This is wonderful and VA WE STOOD UP AND DID IT BABY!!!

This is a new day in America. I can finally tell my son that he can hold the highest ranking in America. We have waited long and hard for this day and finally it is upon us. Hopefully we can continue to grow and make progress cause lord knows our communities need it. Thank God for all that he has done for us. Thank the voters that went out of their way to make this happen. The right man won last night. Not cause he was black (That was just a bonus), but because he was the right man for the job. Our prayers go out to President Obama and hopefully God will protect him from the evil that still lurks. God Bless to everyone and good day!

I'm still in shock. I go to a predominately white university and when it was announced that Barack had won, all of us black students started screaming, shouting, and crying all at the same time.  A lot of white students were around and they were kind of in shock about our reaction, but nevertheless, I think they understand. This was a personal victory for us as a people. That was one of the greatest moment in my life.

My grandparents just celebrated their 63rd anniversary and while I was home, they told my cousins and I that they never thought in a million years they would live to see a black man run for president. This victory to me is more important to those who have gone through the struggle.

After 400 hundred years of slavery, after being told as a people we will never amount to anything, we did it black america! We need to stand tall and stand proud. We need to pull out those history books and get to re-writing.

January 20th, 2009 I will be in Washington Dc swearing in our next president of the United States!

Luther Campbell told AllHipHop.com,"Today there is no more black and white in the U.S.A. We are one." This quote did not create this post. Just a good quote to relate this subject to.

Why can't anyone posting recognize that Obama is half white?

If you don't think that this fact is significant then you are not seeing the one of the more important underlying symbols of what his election means. It is absolutely a monumental achievement for african americans because he obviously carries the traits of his father. However, not recognizing his other half is really missing the reason he is so accepted by people of all races. It is his diverse upbringing and mix of two different races that make him who he is. HE REPRESENTS THE GOOD THAT CAN COME FROM ALL OF US COMING TOGETHER. This is a historical event that many of us never thought we would see in our lifetime and very important to recognize every sacrifice made by countless people for civil rights. Just please recognize who he is in his entirety.
