And that's why LL has a very valid point. Props to Jay-Z for being the most consistent MC year in & year out for something like 7 years, but how are you going to run a label and still want to be doing tours. Especially throughout the Summer?? LL said "you can't have a rapper being the boss of rappers". Nuff said. Jay-Z is hands down the biggest name in Hip Hop, but has been running Def Jam for 2-3 years, and all he's put out is Nas. And his album got only a small percentage of promotion that Jay-Z's got. Redman is a beast on the mic, and a hell of an entertainer...no promotion, and his fan base is off the charts as well. Again...LL said "Jay-Z is good at promoting Jay-Z". And everybody said LL was just mad & hating, but look at his Def Jam track record and speak with honesty. Thank you. I don't promote beef but a good wax-battle between th GOD MC "LL cool J" and Jay-Z would be a welcomed one, since they both know to keep it on wax. 2 legends at work. Jay-Z is a hell of a business man...but can we please get some other talent out of that Def Jam camp and stop using them niggas as tax write-offs??????

alot of you cats out there dont understand what a presidents job is, they are in charge of people doing there jobs if you hire people that are good at there jobs, then you dont have that much to do, yes you make the big decisons but there are not big decison to make every min of everyday look how much vacation the president takes and he run the most powerful nation in the world. Them muhfuccas put in work and in return it showed in their sales...... Not to knock off some of my favorites Redman, Ghostface * Meth but I think people need to step their game up a bit for their albums in order to get that promo and all the other shit they seem to complain about.

I remember when Def Jam had it all coming out but times change and as you can see those artists i named that are doing good are fresher to the game.... so they appeal to more people now...

If you have not heard of him check him out 1st Born 2nd Child, alos if you can find it peep the unreleased "Love for Sale". Absoloutely the best music available. Well actually if I remember correctly, Fab, Neo, Rhianna, Rick Ross, Jeezy, etc.... were all signed to Def Jam when Jay got there. Who has he actually brought into the label?

LA Ried Laid all the ground work. Jay-Z is more of a prop to give the record label some Hip Hop cred. He could care less about those other MCs on the roster because he still considers himself an MC, that's why all of them over at Def Jam is mad. Jay came in to milk the cow for all it's worth then bounce to bigger and better things. Lookin forward to the album.
