wow...it amazes how people forget that as an artist you see way more cheese independently than you do with a major label...that is why Khaled and Joe can keep making album deals with Koch because they are pulling in some serious cash flow on the indie scene...300,000 independently? lets do the math...most indie contracts are a 50/50 split( i know mines is lol) so if they sold Kahled's album for 10 bucks that's 3 million dollars right there for 300,000 cds sold and with that 50/50 split, 1.5 mil is not a bad come up...most cats on major labels are making pennies off every cd sold so they have to do crazy numbers to see the same kinda of cake...
