Hov is most likely upset just because this is the one thing he wanted. He was willing to give up rocafella and rocawear just for the complete rights to the album but when dame and biggs refused to sell it to him hov did what he had to do.

Somebody made a point about how dame doesn't need jay to make serious money. Then lemme ask this...Why is it that the first thing you hear about dame is that he's re-realesing reasonable doubt. Why did columbia did away with him? Why didn't Kanye stick with him? Why didn't Jim Jones, Cam and the whole dipset just make a record company with dame running it? On the cool, I really thought Dame was a cold businessman, but I see that he just more or less had an ill uncontrollable mouthpiece... he really showed himself too with that fraud BET show, I was hoping for better;

So with that being the forerunner, I am not surprised by this move and if I owned the masters, I would have sold them back to Jay before releasing the album but they doing that out of spite.

Like some other dudes have already said, I don't think that there are TOO many people who haven't already copped it, and honestly I think Jay would have paid a few mill to get the rights because they are sentimental to him... no one loves his work more than him...

Lastly, it's moves like this that kind of explain for me why it seems that nothing for Dame has really blown since Jay bounced; and for all you Jay haters, ain't no-body jockin' him we just peepin' the science and lookin' at how greazy these cats be actin....

Jay wanted to own the MASTERS and RIGHTS to Reasonable Doubt outright. His goal was to own the Masters, and then just leave Def Jam all together...maybe do something on his own or what-not. This DID NOT include "taking" any artists with him. But, Dame and Biggs was too greedy to let that ride. Jay even TOLD them he wouldn't take the position with Def Jam IF they gave him the Masters, because he just wanted rights to his "baby"....they said NO...flat out, and it sounds like it was a bytch move at that...

SO Jay said PHUCK IT, I'll just take the ROC then, and get this $75 mill to head all of it up, and ya'll can step...or be MY BYTCHES!
