yall are buggin. this guy is a living legend. It's funny cause I was telling my homie the other day, that music is like art. And if these guys had left behind something more visual (IE a painting), they would have a lot more respect.

Because its music, the state of the radio and a number of other factors, pioneers like this guy get swept under the rug.

Kanye, Common, Chicago owe a small debt to guys like this because of how Chicago soul advanced the entire music biz before everyone packed up and left Chitown for New York or LA.

He may be legendary, and I definitely respect that because he's from the original state of music. When dealing with a lawsuit of large magnitude of course it's going to take a while to put all the pieces together and try to account for all the times his product was used. But one thing stood out, which will need to be verified. They said he renewed the copyright if 1996. The question I have is when did it expire? Because that will play a heavy role in the lawsuit if the copyright of the song wasn't active during those years that these people made these tracks. Which is probably what the labels noticed when they went through the sample clearing process.
