and the private group tears that project down and builds some high priced condos or something...can we say gentrification. If this is going to be considered the real birthplace of hip hop.....something needs to be done to preserve this...another instance where all these so called ballers so pool their money to save an important piece of the culture.

let's see now, we have all these hip hop millionaires, Jay Z comes to mind, Sean Combs, Russell Simmons and a few others who can somehow make a big difference in realizing this venture can be worthy, they have the money, the influence and I'm sure the power to make things happen with a phone call to rally the troops to save this spot, shit even Oprah can buy the damned building and donate it regardless of if she likes hip hop or not but do it to save a piece of black history. I'm not saying that they are obligated to but if you living and eating good off of the culture and this is the birthplace then I feel you have an obligation to save the birthplace of what you living off of.
