Honestly..they could do this about every major city in America..when u see NY on tv..all they show is Times Sq..when you hear about Baltimore, all they talk about is Harborplace and Fells Point..shows like The Wire, Homicide and the Corner have done a great job of showing sides of Balitmore that they don't want u to see...its real shit in every city..every city has a ghetto..every city has a drug market..an underground market...a world that u only know about if you're a part of it.

Personally, I think videos like this are more for the glorification of cats then to deter people esp. inner city youths from becoming these negative images. I mean, is he gonna come out with a video to show what the drug game did to our communities and how as a community we're so screwed up that we still push those same drugs harder today in our community, so that some "Big Man" could ride around a Benz and show the hood what he got. Is he gonna show how "The Man" that's really running this business is off getting filthy rich and living a lavished life while the nickel and dime bag hustla has to deal with street shit everyday. I also hope, at end of this movie, he talks about ways to improve our drug riddled neighborhoods. If he's not donig any of this then he's glorifying Miami's Drugs Lords.

It’s no surprise that all of these hood DVDs end exactly the same, you find out who’s locked up, who’s dead and who’s trying to replace the last guy. But nobody ever talks about the effects of the drug business like broken homes, crappy neighborhoods and babies born already addicted. You can’t tell me he’s not trying to glamorize this especially considering he’s going to include a top 10 list of the most notorious drug lords. Will this do any good for the community of Miami other than get some knucklehead gassed up so he can make the top 10 next year? In my youth program I see everyday how these young kids are so impacted by these DVDs, violent and ignorant YouTube videos and music all glamorizing this lifestyle and every rapper has the same excuse “I’m speaking for the streets, letting people know how what life in the hood is like”, well guess what? That story has been told a million times over. Do something original Rick Ross but clearly that’s too much to expect from yet another rapper with the stage name of yet another drug dealer.

I think you missing my point. Politics aside. I'm getting the impression that Rick Ross thinks that he's the Pablo Escobar of this rap shit. No sir, he's a rapper. Nothing more, nothing less. There are niggas on the street or in prison coast to coast (not just Miami) that do/did what he's trying to glorify and have a more realistic story to tell.

I haven't seen his DVD so maybe I should wait and comment then, but when I read....

Look, it's one thing to have made it off the streets and go back to where you came from and feel blessed that you made it out. A lot of niggas never get the oportunity so representing someone who did and giving back is good. But don't give away Turkey's to families destroyed by cocaine on Christmas then personify the evil that did that shit. It's a gross contradiction that these 15, 16, & 17 year old kids don't undestand.
